Do you want friends or not?

It's true that there are people who are legitimately bad at texting, but it sounds like they're just bad at texting you. Are you only seeing these people at work/school and then expecting to stay connected once you're no longer in class/working together? Because that's networking, not friendship. Making friends means you're intentionally spending time together outside of school. A few attempts at that would probably give you a clearer picture of how people see your relationship.

Don't tell her you didn't like the meet-ups for her wedding - no point in potentially hurting her feelings after the fact. Just keep (politely) telling her that you don't think numerous meet-ups are necessary and they don't work with your schedule. I don't use the "it's your wedding" line a lot, but in this case, it's your wedding and you don't need to make the lead-up to it a bigger deal than you want it to be.

Yup - if I had a baby now I wouldn't have the support system I did.   And even back then we had parents an hour away.  It wasn't that easy to get out and I was TIRED.  Some dads are just not hands on and that makes it worse.  

Be the village.

Ugh.  This LW irritates me.  "I love being a new mom!  I'm just having the best time and I can still do my girl's nights because my partner is just the bee's knees.  My friend Sally's husband sucks and she's not having as easy of a time adapting to motherhood.  She seems sad.  We should stop inviting her to things, right?" The.Fuck? 

With ALL the discourse about postpartum emotional issues, you've decided that you need to isolate a (seemingly) longtime friend because she's changed since having a kid and it's harder for her than it has been for you?  You're a terrible friend, LW. 

Encourage Lisa to see a therapist who isn’t affiliated with your religion. And do the same yourself. 

I think you need to decide if you do trust this friend.  Because if the friend was honest with you then the biggest issue is that the friend isn't vaccinated making it easier for him to both contract and pass Covid - but you can still get it as you did.

Before you decide to say your strong feelings figure out what they are.  And determine how much you want to state when the current guidance of Covid is changing.

I say this as the parent of an immunosuppressed kid who has her vaccinated but sends her to a large public school where I know she's exposed by unvaccinated.  It's about balance here.

How about that religious trauma, LW? 

Therapists. But also sex therapists. And maybe some solo sex. 

“Oh I didn’t know you wanted to see her, she already visited, but I’ll let you know the next time she is in town.”

Sounds like the grandmother sucks, but LW is being a little passive aggressive by ghosting grandma and not telling her why she doesn’t want to see her.
