We have a large rooftop deck which would be the perfect place to put it, but I'm not sure my husband is onboard with the idea. A few questions: Do people generally eat all their meals in the sukkah. What happens if it rains? Are snacks also eaten there? How do apartment dwellers make accommodations?

Hi all! I know it's been so long, but I've finally compiled some of my favorite pictures from my wedding on September 6! Check out my new married bio for all the pics! Everything was absolutely perfect: the weather, the flowers, the food... even the ring bearer cooperated. And, our 16 1/2 year old dog participated. We found out right after the wedding that we would have to put him to sleep that week (he hadn't been acting himself for a couple of weeks, but somehow he made it to the wedding, turns out he had a tumor growing inside of him). We were so lucky to have him there, and we cancelled our honeymoon so we could spend a couple last days with him. Anyway, enjoy the pics. :)

Afer Yom Kippur yesterday, J and I went to a break fast where there must have been enough food for 100 people (about 25-30 guests) and as many choices as are offered in some small restaurants. There was a large variety of bagels, at least 2 different kinds of challah, 3 different kugels, vegetable and fruit platters, blintzes, stuffed french toast, lox, whitefish salad and several other types of smoked fish and at least 4 differnt choices for dessert. I'm sure I am forgetting several dishes as well. We commented that somehow the meaning of fasting is lost when immediately afterwards you are presented with more food than is healthy to eat in 3 days. Anyone else feel this way?

Hi Ladies,I need some advice/input! FI and I are at a loss of what to do...We're having our wedding on a Sunday, and my parents are hosting a BBQ the Saturday afternoon. The majority of our guests are coming from out of town (including ourselves - it is in my hometown). FMIL is insisting that she has to host a Friday night dinner for 'her people'. We were going back and forth a lot because FI and I feel obligated to be there (while including my parents' and our guests too). Fi's parents are also hosting a party a few months prior to invite the people who can't come or were not invited (we're trying to keep the wedding small). This means that on top of the wedding there would be 3 other events, which is way too much for FI, and I think I'll be too overwhelmed before Sunday rolls around. We had decided to let her do her thing Friday and my parents would visit with their family. FI and I thought we could do something with friends/cousins (go to a bar, bowling, etc).My problem is that I think it's weird for FI and I not to be at these things Friday since everyone's coming for OUR wedding. I didn't want to do friday because of the cost (it will cost nearly as much as the wedding dinner), and the fact that FI never wanted a big wedding. FMIL says it's fine for us not to be there, but I feel strange about the whole thing. PLUS people may not even be flying in in time for the Friday dinner.HELP! What should we do!?!?

I am not a huge fan of favors; rarely have I been to a wedding where I wanted one and it many I've seen a few not even taken. We are having a relatively small affair, maybe something approaching 100 (that's small compared to all our friends, etc.). I am planning to have little apples that will serve as escort cards but families/couples will have one so it's not quite a favor but they get to keep it. We aren't big fans of chocolate; I find bells and other little knick-knacks annoying. Bottom line, I just don't want favors. I think after providing a great evening of dinner and additional time of an impromptu after party (with open bar), I don't need to also include favors. Thoughts? If you gave or plan to give, why and what did you decide upon? If not, why? Thanks much!
