Dear FI's friend's wives and mothers,
I love that you want to buy outfits for the wedding, but shopping for Indian clothes with 7 people is a little overwhelming for me. Plus, please understand Sarees are not the easiest thing in the world to wear. I've been wearing them since I was a teenager and I just recently can put it on by myself without it looking crazy somewhere. It will take you time to figure it out and we won't be around to put it on you. Hopefully you'll think and a Lenga is pretty and just wear one of those. Hope you understand

I thought Kate looked beautiful. I loved her gown and her simple, classic look.

I am sure that some of the trends will translate to weddings, but I really hope that the "less is more" look translates to Indian weddings. Not that I don't love the color, the jewelry, etc, but I feel like sometimes it's taken to the next level of overboard.

i got my fiance's churidaar pants with his sherwani suit for the wedding but they seem to be made sort of strange. There is a GIANT seam that runs across the right thigh and down to his knee area. It is highly  visible even with the sherwani suit on. I talked to the people we ordered it from and they said that is how they are made.

He nor his family had any that I could compare them with, so I'm turning to all of you! I looked on line at patterns for this type of pants and none of them showed the seam being where it is. I understand about cutting on a bias, but it looks like they simply patched the pants together instead of having a large piece of material. I've never seen a churidaar  pant up close, so i am flying blind here. Please let me know if this is normal or if I need to get my money back.

The plan had been a water birth at the midwife's birthing home, but I woke up with contractions at 2:15ish and by 2:45 I was curled up on the bathroom floor unable to move. I was barely able to get to the tub that was 3 feet away, let alone the 30 minute drive to the birthing home! Midwife got to my house at 3:24 and baby was born at 3:51.

 

She came out with a full head of long, thick black hair (I have never seen such hair on a newborn!) and big brown eyes. She has what my mom calls "piano fingers" - long and skinny. She weighs 7 pounds exactly and is 21 inches long.

 

R is absolutely smitten. She’s barely 30 hours old and she already has him wrapped around her little finger. He’s obsessed with every tiny little squeak and grunt and he absolutely melts when she yawns. It’s too cute.

 

His mom called this morning with initials, so we'll be going through names today. We basically have to choosefrom scratch because none of the names on our "short list" start with "Ch." But that's ok. We'll find her the perfect name anyway:)

 

ETA: Thanks, friends:) And we chose a name! Everybody, meet Chandra Rose M!

I am soo stresesd about planning this wedding! I am having such a hard time with finding a photographer.

If you guys don't mind me asking, but how much are you guys paying for a photographer? 3 days of events.

Some of these photographers only want to give me a total of 100 pictures edited for all 3 events total!! that is def not enough!

Sorry I am kind of venting here!

I contacted Adrena photography multiple times but i guess shes just busy cuz i still havent received a quote from her after speaking to her... but her work truly is great.
