Hi girls :)

If you don't mind me asking, do any of you mind throwing me a ball park figure of what you paid for your wedding videography?

I have some questions!

Did any of you do something with a cinematic style?
Did you do a high light video or a same day edit?
How many people came to do the shooting? 2?
Do you mind sending me a link to the company you used? I'd love to see what people are into.

I personally love this guy based near me. I really want to use something like that but I am unsure of what is too expensive. I want a video that'll not only be memorable, but something different...and unforgettable.

http://www.3rdstreetfilms.com/
I'm a skin and (good) product junky. What do you use? Do any of you know of any scar removal gels or creams? I want to lighten my skin from previous blemishes without having to do a chemical peel unless I have to and I know other women on this board can relate as dark skin scars more easily. What do you guys use and what would you avoid? Sephora is my go to store for everything lol...and I'm ready to hit it up and increase my beatuy insider points!

DH and I are invited this weekend to a dinner at his friend's home welcoming us as a married couple. DH describes it as "traditional" and a "ritual" so it's not just a regular dinner because we're back from India. However, DH is absolutely no help on what to wear.

Some background in case this helps: The hosts are Marwari. Unlike most of DH's friends, the wife wears jeans most of the time, so normally I would wear jeans to their house unless it's a big party. We have no idea who's going to this dinner, but I think it's small. DH also hates silwar kameez, although I wear it more often since saris are more difficult for me.

Am I supposed to wear Desi clothes? Am I supposed to dress up (like pants and shirt or dress instead of jeans)? If Desi clothes are appropriate, silwar suit or sari? And how dressy?

Thanks!

Hi ladies!

I just got engaged the day before Thanksgiving and have started planning. We have set June 11th as the date (soon, I know!).

I have been browsing through your posts today and had a couple of questions.
1) Do any of you have a planner? Any recommendations for one? What is a reasonable estimate of pricing for one? (I've been getting super high quotes for design/planning $25k - doesn't include any vendor fees!)

2) I saw the recommendations for mandaps but I actually wanted a really modern looking mandap (more of flora and flowy fabric)

3) I have planned a trip to India in January but only have 5 days to get outfits and jewelry. I'm planning 2 1/2 days in Delhi and the equiv in Mumbai - any store recommendations? Do you think its posisble to get the outfits?

4) What is a reasonable budget for decor? Centerpieces?

I'm sure I will have more questions but would love to hear your opinions. Thanks!

Ok since I'm really annoyed and needed to just get this out here it goes!

I know I've B&M, FFF, and SA Wednesday this, but I think I hit my breaking point. I am so DONE with people asking to come to my wedding!!! I had a girl from High School who I decides on my birthday to send me a message on facebook asking to come to the wedding.
She said," Hey I know you aren't suppose to do this, but I wanted to know if I can come to your wedding... Sorry but can I have an invite? Hope your doing well and Happy birthday" Honestly!!! So I asked in my blunt, tired of dealing with this way. "Why do you want to come to my wedding? Since we haven't talked or seen eachother in 8 years?"
her response, " I thought it was be a pretty wedding" REALLY!! This is why.. Not because we use to be friends and you want to be there for me or something remotely personal. NO you want to come because it will be PRETTY! I haven't responded because I was so blown away and pissed as you can tell. Does anyone else deal with this many people asking to come to your wedding? I've had at least 20, then you have to add the plus on and that's 40 extra people. Are you kidding?

Second.. My sister still hasn't turned in my VISA request for my trip to India in two weeks. I gave her the application two weeks ago and she is just now getting around to it. She said she thinks it can be done in one day and I hope she's right. If she's not it will take 3 weeks like I read and then it will be too late. Thus, $2000 plane ticket down the drain. The only reason I found this out. She can't find my pics for it. I had to go get new ones made yesterday and overnight them to her today. I would get mad about this but getting mad at her will accomplish nothing. I should have just taken a day off and done it myself. I'm really kicking myself for not doing it. My older sister is normally so reliable, I have no clue what happened. I will just send it to her and pray it's done. I would hate to miss my cousin's wedding over something so stupid.

Thank you for letting me vent. I feel a ton better!

Stephanie's aunt passed away yesterday. She has been going between School and her home for a couple weeks now because of it. She has finals this week and is trying to just make it through until she can return home Saturday to take care of everything. Please pray for her and her family.
I know most of you guys know her personally and she really just wants to get through this week. If you do text or message her please just do condolenses, I don't think she can handle questions right now. (I don't mean to be rude)

Really really really long story short... Kidlet, Dog and I have moved back in with my mother for the time being. It got to the point where I felt we needed to live separately to work out our problems. It's nothing so bad that absolutely cannot be fixed, but we're way past the place where we can work it out without non-biased third-party input. So we're working on finding affordable counseling, but we're looking at probably 6-12 months of work, which means that we likely won't be living together when the baby arrives in April.

It sucks. And it hurts. And I don't think I have cried so much in a very, very long time. And that's about all I want to say about it.

Hi ladies! I was wondering if any of you had an good recs or websites for centerpiece ideas? I went through all of the centerpieces on the knot, as well as several other websites, but still have not found exactly what I am looking for. Our reception colors are pink (fuschia) and silver and I was looking for some high and medium centerpieces. For a wedding reception of 250 people (25 tables), what do you think is a reasonable number of high centerpieces to have? I was thinking about 8 but not sure- don't want the room to look bare, but also don't want to overdo it. Any suggestions?
