Veil HELP!!

Hi Girls,

I have fallen in love with a veil that I saw on Platinum Weddings, and need help finding out where I can find it or where I can have one made. The bride on the show had hers made in Pakistan, which is not possible for me to do. Any suggestions would be great! Also, I live in CT so the veil maker would need to be in Connecticut or New York or Boston. I'll attach the photo.

During the process of planning your weddings, where have you had to surrender?

In the guest list? Having a certain ceremony or tradition you didn't want to? Budget? Food?

Just curious.

For me, so far, even in talks, it is inviting people my family HAS to maintain relationships with...like my Dad's sister-in-law's family members! I don't know them very well, nor do I like them (or HER for that matter, but her invitation can't get lost in the mail!) Those certain Aunty and Uncle duos that my family and I do not like but who have invited us to their childrens functions over the years (the people who we NEVER call, see, or spend time with) are also on that list.

Is the reception program supposed to be...

So I've lived in central NJ for a long time, but I've never had a sari blouse sewn here. I have an awesome Satya Paul sari that I bought on my last trip to India that needs to have the blouse sewn.

What do you ladies think of bachelor party festivities...the traditional 'strip club' scene, in general. I'm really, REALLY laid back but that's one thing I can't get behind. Sorry, if we're getting married, you getting a girl grinding on youd doesn't really seem like a necessary tradition. We have a number of other ones to follow, you can let this one go.

I'm cool about everything but naked chicks around my man. So sue me, right?

I trust HIM, it's just an environment that makes me happy. He feels the same way.

What do you guys think? Any objections to your guys stag night / bachelor party?

How do you guys feel about that site? It seems like they have good prices and it is probably cheaper to go that route than DIY but I am not sure if it is reliable/quality printing.

Getting your ring appraised

I have heard of people getting their engagement ring appraised. Would you ever do this? Do you know anybody who has? I do not want to do that because I think it's kind of slimy. I trust him, I trust that he's spending what he can and wants to spend on it. It seems so un-trustworthy! But some people do do this! There was a radio show about it where the host asked women to call in about appraising their rings and so many called in, I could hardly believe it. And they had crazy stories, too! Who knew?

Makeup Question

Are you ladies having your makeup redone for the reception or just having it done once, in the morning, prior to ceremony and then just coasting through the day with touch ups, etc?

I am not a big makeup person to begin with, but I am concerned that after the "rigors" of the Hindu ceremony my makeup will look like a hot mess and I don't want that for the reception...

What are you ladies doing?

I'm moving in with FI on August 1. I spent a few hours over there today organizing and condensing his things so we can fit my and Kidlet's things too. Still a lot of work to do, though. I plan to make lists over the next couple days and then start with the organizing and packing.

His little brother won't be staying with us. FI and his parents talked last night and everyone agreed that the boy would more than likely be more trouble than we need, so he'll be moving up with the parents. I think they're taking the dog too, because his dad wants to take her with.

We are not going to get married right away- it seems we have a lot more talking to do first. He told me yesterday that he wanted a big production of a wedding. Big productions make me panicky, and I *REALLY* want to keep it simple. I'd just as soon elope and say screw the whole wedding thing rather than deal with a big to-do of a wedding. So we've got some discussing to do. *sigh* Oh, well. One thing at a time for now, I suppose.

Sonali - is going ona trip!!! YAY for shopping!!! What is everyone else doing?

I was talking to FI last night altough, both of us were half asleep and cranky because of the lack of sleep to both of us talking about the vacation destination and he ruled out everything, literally everything, nothing in the South American and Carribean. I think he only gave in that just maybe he would give in to Costa Rica, if he had to!!! So now I have to start my research process all over again!! I think he has spent too much time in South America and the carribean that he just does not see them as vacation spots. FI just got back from DR and that was my suggestion to go as well, but that is a no.

Nothing new for the weekend, swamped with homework, exams and things I don't even remember I have to do, but nothing exciting.

So it worked 50%, but the girl who started the drama didnt respond the other chic did so I dont really know..the girl who started the drama read the message FOR SURE and ignored it..oh well her loss, I wont try it again at all in her case she is not humble enough to extend a friendly hand and I gave it a chance so I am done trying..I got enough on my plate..

YIKES only a month left am freakin out because our pre-wedding video is soon and I have no story line, our videographer wants us to have a story line with dialogues showing our personality traits, its due this week and I have nothing..:( I never written a script before and have no idea how to go about it. And to make it worse our videographer wants to try this first time with us and he offered to do it without any cost so he can set this as an example to his new clients thereafter, which makes the pressure even worse, help!

Where is a good place to buy stylish and moderately priced Indian clothing? Sarees and such? Although we're going for fun, I always get a good deal there (last time I came home with three ridiculously reasonably priced punjabi suits to add to my trousseau...which is what we're shopping for).

Any suggestions on what store I shouldn't miss out on?
