Hi girls, anyone know of any good bakeries in the East Bay that are inexpensive? I have a very small budget for my wedding cake, about $250-$300 for a 100 person cake. I know I am pushing it a little but I think it can be done. Any suggestions?

Affordable Vintage Transportation?

Hi ladies,
I was hoping you could help me with my wedding in Belmont, CA (Bay Area). I would like to find a vintage car (with a driver) for my groom & I, but I don't want to spend a small fortune. I'm not sure how long people typically rent cars for... I would like it to be there for the outdoor ceremony and after-photos, 5:30-6:30 pm, and to take my groom & I to our hotel around 10:30 or 11:30 pm. Thus, I really only need it for 1.5-2 hours or so, but I may end up having to pay for the full 5-6 hours...Any ideas/recommendations?

So i recently just lost my venue. We put a deposit down back in November and the owners sold the property to new owners who aren't honoring our contracts.

SO...i'm back to square one - looking for a new venue.

I have searched and searched AND searched and I cannot find anything i like.

Most people are flying into San Jose for the weekend so we want to stay pretty close. Also, while I enjoy a drink or two, I'm not looking to get sloppy drunk. Deer Ridge Vineyard sold

We were planning to get married at Deer Ridge Vineyard in Livermore, CA at end of June, but the vineyard just told us last week that they have been bought by another vineyard. They are asking us to sign a new contract, which states that there are plans for construction at the site and the barrel room won't be able to be used for the appetizer hour. Has anyone come across similar situations or is anyone else also getting married at Deer Ridge this year? Should I ask for compensation or should I consider changing the venue? I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do so any info would be helpful. Thanks! -LL

Anyone have any ideas of what to put in a welcome bag for out of town guests staying in the blocked out hotel rooms? I thought maybe a welcome note, a map of SF, and a couple of snacks. I'm already doing Ghirardelli chocolates for the wedding favors, so I can't do that. I don't know what else of SF to put in there that isn't expensive. Most of the guests are coming from Brazil, so I also have to keep in mind that English may be a challenge for them. Thanks!

Hello, I need some help finding an affordable but delicious caterer in the East Bay. I will need appetizers for our cocktail hour as well as the entree for our sit down dinner. I am looking for a caterer that includes everything meaning servers, linens, china, glassware etc. I really want good food so I would hate to have to give up quality over pricing, however I am on a pretty tight budget and would appreciate any suggestions. I am having 100 people at my wedding and am getting married in Oakland. My budget for the food, china and servers is around $3000-$3500, am I pushing it?

Our venue allows us to bring our own food but I am in need of finding inexpensive china, glassware, silverware and barware. I have gotten 2 different quotes rangind between $1400-$2200, is this normal? This would completely break our budget for our 90-100 person wedding. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My fiance & I are looking for a wedding venue in the bay area or close to the SF bay area. Right now we live in the San Jose/Campbell area, however we are willing to travel for the right location!

My 'google' is sore from all the searching that I have done for a wedding venue to meet our criteria & under $3000 (for both ceremony & reception). Catering must be BYO. Guest list is 300...hence our problem.

I would really appreciate any help or ideas that people have to make our June 2012 wedding be a successful event.

We are open to an outdoor/indoor ceremony/reception... so pretty much open for anything... we just need more options! We are also open to having the ceremony & reception at two different venues, HOWEVER, the combined fees MUST be under $3000....

Hi. Here's the thing. I've asked my 5 closest friends to be my bridesmaids. I was kind of in a weird place with one of them, (stupid girl stuff - we didn't talk for some time) but I could not image my wedding without her so after a loooot of thinking I finally asked her. Of course she said yes. Now, we are still working on some issues, and she is now engaged as well. She will marry before me and says she can no longer be my bridesmaid because she has too many stuff to do and will not have time for me, eventhough she doesn't want to make me feel bad, she will just not be in it :( . She even asked me if I had anyone else to ask to be my BM, AS IF???!!!!!

Honestly, I've not asked a single thing of my BM other than get a friggin' green dress. THAT'S IT. The rest of the planning I totally enjoy doing with my FI. I really got hurt by this. I guess I'm just asking what you think, if I should just appreciate her being honest or is she just being a total B about this.

Short time frame to plan

I just got engaged in February and my fiance and I are getting married April 30th. We have a venue, a fire station, but we may not have a lot of time to use it. I need help with decorating it, I want something simple to show that is a wedding and not just a get together. The easier the tear down the better.

I also need ideas for a reception, since we may not have a lot of time to use the fire station where are other places we can use that are fairly inexpensive?

I've found a dress I like except for one thing--it only comes in ivory. I'm considering having someone recreate it. I've found people on Etsy who can do this, but I'd rather work with someone local.

Any suggestions for a dressmaker? I've tried searching Yelp, Craigslist, and a couple of wedding boards with no luck. I've found one person in Walnut Creek that I might try, but that's getting kind of far (I'm in the south bay).
