I was kind of in a weird place with one of them, (stupid girl stuff - we didn't talk for some time) but I could not image my wedding without her so after a loooot of thinking I finally asked her. Of course she said yes. Now, we are still working on some issues, and she is now engaged as well. She will marry before me and says she can no longer be my bridesmaid because she has too many stuff to do and will not have time for me, eventhough she doesn't want to make me feel bad, she will just not be in it :( . She even asked me if I had anyone else to ask to be my BM, AS IF???!!!!!

Honestly, I've not asked a single thing of my BM other than get a friggin' green dress. THAT'S IT. The rest of the planning I totally enjoy doing with my FI. I really got hurt by this. I guess I'm just asking what you think, if I should just appreciate her being honest or is she just being a total B about this.

Thanks and congratulations to all!!!!

I just got engaged in February and my fiance and I are getting married April 30th. We have a venue, a fire station, but we may not have a lot of time to use it. I need help with decorating it, I want something simple to show that is a wedding and not just a get together. The easier the tear down the better.

I also need ideas for a reception, since we may not have a lot of time to use the fire station where are other places we can use that are fairly inexpensive?

I've found a dress I like except for one thing--it only comes in ivory. I'm considering having someone recreate it. I've found people on Etsy who can do this, but I'd rather work with someone local.

Any suggestions for a dressmaker? I've tried searching Yelp, Craigslist, and a couple of wedding boards with no luck. I've found one person in Walnut Creek that I might try, but that's getting kind of far (I'm in the south bay).
