Hi friends!!

Have any of you ever heard of this company, Simplicity Gourmet? I did a search on the boards here and there seems to be a ton of discussions, but it all seems to be based on he say/she say. The general consensus seems to be that its all a scam, but I'm wondering if anyone has personal experience, and if anyone has actually booked a trip, or personally knows someone who did?

When I first got engaged, my fiance and I went to a lot of bridal expos, so we started getting calls from a company called "Simplicity Gourmet." They told us we had won a free honeymoon package, and all we needed to do was sit through a two hour cookware presentation. At the end of the presentation, they gave us a voucher for a 3 night stay of our choice to Costa Rica, Domincan Republic, Mexico, and a few other locations. I tucked the voucher away and never though much of it, but now that FI and I are starting to think of honeymoon options, it would be kind of nice if we really did have a free package.

I'll admit, it sounds too good to be true, but of all the accusations I've read claiming it to be a scam, it seems to all be based off of google or the Internet. I've yet to find a personal experience story. Have any of you actually booked one of these trips or know someone personally who did? I'd love to hear your experience and thoughts. Thanks!!

I have tried Herecomesthebride and all those other wedding and event space websites as well as performed searches on here.

- has a garden or courtyard (something outdoors) where both a ceremony and reception can be
- can bring in your own caterer and food
every place I looked up either has set premiums with you having to order food from them or their preferred caterers, or if they allow you to bring in your own caterer, the price of the rental is too high. We just want a cake and punch reception with guests getting a big piece of cake, and punch (just that no appetizers)
- venue rental is under $800
We really just need some space for maybe 3 hours starting as early as 1PM and ending as late as 5PM
- parking is included without people having to do valet
We would pay for it since I would feel weird making guests pay for parking.
- no package deals
I want to choose all my Craigslist services and DIY with other things

My fiance and I have been engaged a really long time. We decided that we really just want to have a simple, short, cake and punch reception (literally just cake and punch), because we both have been working part time instead of full time for half a year or so now and before that, we bought a house together....

We are really trying to do this as cheap as possible all while still feeling like I had a wedding that in pictures I could look back onto with seeing family and friends celebrating with us. We pretty much are planning to get all services through Craigslist, the cake from a Chinese bakery, and some flowers from the internet or downtown where I can just make some basic bouquets and centerpieces.

I looked into renting through the LA Mountains parks, but the venues were much higher than I had expected. Ideally I would love to have this in someone's yard, but everyone we know either has a condo, apartment, or tiny yard. Renting a house for a day is not an option.

Any ideas?
Since it's from the Vera Wang White line for David's Bridal, I figured their seamstresses are probably used to altering this dress (needs bust and hips taken in slightly, and needs to be hemmed substantially).

Raw Fiction Pictures is a small production company in Los Angeles that specializes in wedding and event videography. We have several packages that include:

The Basic Package ($500) - This gives you 2 videographers at your event shooting in HD, and we provide you with only raw footage from 6 hours of shooting, which usually starts from the time of the ceremony. This does not include any editing, and is only the raw, unedited footage from the event. Perfect for the couple who wants to craft the story themselves!

The Classic Package ($750) - This package gives you 2 videographers shooting in HD, and we will be there for the entire wedding, including when the bride and groom get ready beforehand. (This is about 10 hours of filming.) Additionally, we edit together a 4-5 minute Highlight video of all of the most important events. This is great if you want your video to be shorter and focus on the most important memories.

The Deluxe Package ($1000) - *Most Popular* This package gives you full coverage of the day! This includes 2 videographers shooting in HD for the entire wedding (well over 10 hours of filming), from the bride and groom getting ready to the last song ending. We edit together a 17-20 minute video, turning your special day into its own movie with interviews from friends and family. We also provide multiple edits, giving you the chance to make any changes that you would like to the finished film, and we work with you until you are completely satisfied!

The Premium Package ($1400) - This is for the couple that wants every detail of their wedding to be captured! Including everything that the Deluxe Package offers, we also edit together the 4-5 minute Highlight video of all the most important parts of the wedding. Additionally, we film the rehearsal dinner, and incorporate that into the finished piece. This package has the most cinematic feel, as we capture the very beginning of the wedding to the very end.

Here is a link to a sample of our work. http://vimeo.com/33271597

Email us at team@rawfictionpictures.com or give us a call at 305-923-0818.
