Hi Ladies,
I am just looking for some feedback. We are getting married Feb 2012 (soon I know and we just picked this date last week!)
My problem is settling on a colour. I am not completely into the "winter" theme/colours for a wedding... I know its winter but its just the way I feel. We are going for a vintage/rustic look..ie our centerpieces are vintage books, a globe, oil lamps and candles. Our favors are going to be birdseed hearts.

(our wedding is an evening candlelight service with cocktail hour afterwards)

I do not like green but want to keep with the vintage rustic look with out making anything look to springy... any suggestions.
Oh and my dress is cream and the men are wearing black suits.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Ladies,

I need to a bit of support/advice...I have a girlfriend living in South Carolina and we have been very close for about 8 years now. Her fiancé is in the army and therefore the military is basically dictating their wedding plans (as it is dependent on potentially relocating to california etc etc).

They got engaged in the summer and due to circumstances, are getting married at the end of January. It's short notice and I am struggling with trying to figure out if my FI and I can afford to go !!!! It kills me because I would do anything to go but on the other hand, flights are like $700 each, not including hotel accomodations for 2 nights....

My FI is the logical one in the relationship and he isn't sure we can afford it but all I want to do is put in on my visa and figure it out later! It's causing tension between us but how can I NOT go to her wedding?!?!?!

We are hoping to come in under $10,000 (and of course much much closer to $5,000) For our wedding!

I understand this means having a Sunday wedding, possibly a coctail reception and cutting out fancy flowers and gigantic cakes. I'm ok with that. I'm just having a ridiculously hard time trying to figure out where to start! I'm a deer in the headlights. All I see are big halls or fantastic venues with $100+ per person price tags. I am willing to DIY my little fingers off. I am willing to not hire a DJ.

I think once I find a venue everything else can fall into place so this is where I am asking all of you for HELP!

Where can I host a kick ass party for pennies? We have "narrowed" our guest list to about 95 people (this is mostly immidiate family too!) so I can't really compromise on that.

So, any suggestions?
Hi ladies,

I've found a couple of dresses by Alfred Sung that I like for the bridesmaid dresses. I want them to wear dark purple eggplant and my bridesmaids (3) are all pretty easy going. I'm flexible if they don't want to all wear matching dresses so my question is if I make sure that all 3 dresses are made from the same designer, will the colour purple look the same? Or do I have to make sure it's the same designer AND the same fabric (dupioni fabric for example) ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

So I'm hoping you ladies are as much into the wedding dress porn as I am.. so I decided to show it off a bit!

I am pretty sure I am in complete love with my dress..... I asked my MOH and mom to to go a sample sale that we heard about at the bridal show in mississauga, soo we trekked off to impression bridal salon or bridal image(they go by both names..wierd I know!) My mom surprised me by bringing along my dad! So what I thought was going to be more for Sh*ts and Giggles actually turned out to be my dress purchase!

I'd been looking at this dress in a magazine for a few weeks but when I booked the appointment I looked at it online and was like ugh wait not for me.... When we got to the salon and I told our consultant Nicole about what I was looking for she actually pulled this one for me, so I figured I'd give it a try! and good thing I did!! because of the sale we got a great deal on the dress too! more than what I wanted to pay but under 750 was a pretty good deal!

The only thing is now...... I'm not getting married until novemeber of next year!!! yikes who does that??? Am I crazy to have bought it so early? Will I miss out on shopping with my BM's ? I'm definitely second guessing the purchase of my dress but I don't think I am second guessing the dress, does that make sense?

Julie
