I need to find locations for our engagement pictures and wedding pictures and I'm really struggling with both. Our ceremony is in Aurora and our reception is in Markham. We both really loved Richmond Green park unfortunately it is booked on our wedding day for rib fest:( We like the look of country..wood fences,old bridges barns and buildings...if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Plus Size MOB Dresses for Destination Wedding?

You guessed it.. having a hard time finding this for FMIL for a May, Destination wedding in Jamaica.

Any bridal boutique only seems to sell lavish chiffon and silk gowns, which are clearly out of the question for the beach in 35 degree celcius weather/humidity. We've exhausted that search. Not to mention, looking for a size 22-24. Needless to say everyone's getting super frustrated.

Not to mention, FMIL is super picky in what she wants, we've tried looking at jersey type mateiral bridesmaid dresses but they're just not working out.

Tried Laura Plus, tried Addition Elle, tried Davids Bridal, no luck.

Anybody have any suggestions? Short of hiring a seamstress to make something?

Bachelorette Party In Niagara Falls, Canada

So my sister, my maid of honor, wants to take me and the bridesmaids to Niagara Falls, Canada. She wants to rent a limo, rent a hotel room, and go to Peppermints.

My questions are:
- Will there be a limo service who can pick us up at the boarder of Niagara Falls, NY and bring us to the club, to the hotel, and back to the States boarder?

- What is the best hotel deal in NF, Canada?
- Is Peppermints any good? Or is there a better male strip club?

I've never been to Canada, so .... yeah!

Photography location ideas?

I'm really looking for some cool/urban places to shoot, something out of the box and not typical.
We're getting married in Toronto and our reception is in Vaughan, and I don't want to have to travel too far.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a great experience that I had with a wedding vendor. I just bought my wedding dress at Gown and Glory in Mississauga and got a really good deal ($2000 dress for $750), but more than that I had a really good time shopping at Angela's in-home boutique.

The selection isn't enormous, because G&G is a consignment store, but if you're looking for a deal on a dress, it's really worth checking out. Angela is really caring and fun, listens to what you want and really works to put you in the right dress. Her selection may be small but it's exceptionally high quality obviously very well cared for. She also sells Henkaa dresses, which we're using for our bridesmaid dresses - I'm kind of jealous, I want to get one for myself!

In short, it's a fun, relaxed and intimate place to shop where you're personally looked after by someone who is great at customer service! I highly recommend it!

Ceremony & Reception @Paramount

Hi ladies,

I am getting married in April 2013 at Paramount event venue in Woodbridge. I am having the ceremony upstairs around 4:30pm, and the reception doesnt start until 6:30pm. I am not sure if there is enough time for us to leave and take pictures. Has anybody had the ceremony here, and if so where have you done the pictures? The venue is nice, but not very picturesque outside...i know i have tons of time but just wanted to get started doing some research. :) thanks!

Cost for Day-of Wedding Planner?

Hi ladies,
I received a ballpark quote from a day-of wedding planner that my photog highly recommended. It was $1800 to $2200. This includes an assistant.
My sister paid $3000 ($50/hour) for an event planner to help with the rehearsal, day of (+ assistant), brunch post-wedding and I'm sure a million other details. She got the job done but left much to be desired in the personality department.
What is a reasonable cost?
I have no doubt the $1800-$2200 planner is excellent, I just wonder what the "average" going rate would be...

Hi! I'm planning my wedding for Sept-Oct 2012 and am going to look at venues tomorrow. Some of the place I am checking out are the Estates of Sunnybrook, The Richmond Hill Golf Club, King's Valley Golf Club, King's Riding Golf Club, and Oakview Terrace. Does anyone have any experience with any of these venues? Also, I heard you can negotiate pricing to a certain degree, and I was wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with this? Thanks!

I am looking for a make up artist for my May 2012 wedding in the Hamilton area, does anyone know someone they could recommend?

Has anyone use a MAC makeup artist? I heard you can go to the stores and leave a note and someone will call you at a later time (because MAC will not do housecalls, so you'd be booking the artist on her free time, not through MAC).

So originally we considered having one, then pricing them out around Muskoka we leaned towards not...

BUT I would like to have a video of the ceremony. I don't need a fancy, edited video, just something to watch...

So I was talking to my one BM and she said her husband could video tape it for us... I'm thinking this is the best option yet, thoughts?

I need your help! My fiance and I have just decided to move our wedding date from Aug. 2012 to this February. Everything should work out just fine, but I haven't ordered bridesmaid dresses yet! I have to BMs in Saskatchewan, one in BC and two in ON. Do any of you have experience with online companies, or have you rush ordered dresses? Any ideas of stores with off the rack bridesmaid dresses? I don't want to make my maids pay too much for rush delivery, and I want them to have time for alterations. Thanks!

Hi ladies!

I haven't purchased my wedding dress yet but know that I want lace. My mom's wedding veil has lace detailing and I got the idea that I want to wear it. It's beautiful but has an awkward head piece that look similar to a juliet cap. It's pretty but I am not sure it looks the best on me...so I wondered about getting it altered?

Is this possible and if so, who do I take it to in the Toronto area? I may not wear it if it doesn't look good with the wedding dress but wanted to see what my options are!!

Also- is this something my mom and I can DIY?

Just putting out the word, Ikea is having a 50% off all candles sale! Sunday is the last day! There is a limit of 10 candles/packages per visit, so I'll be making a stop there everyday during the sale to add to my wedding stockpile. I bought some large pillar candles for my centerpieces for less than $2 each!

Nice Shoes For Ladies With Wide Feet

Hey ladies!

I did a quick search of the board and couldn't really find any topic relating to what I want to know..

I have quite large and wide feet (size 9.5 - 11 depending on the shoe), and I was wondering if any of you large/wide footed beauties out there know where to go to get NICE heels that are made wide enough for me to wear them lol

My feet are (I've done a rough measure here... probably not the proper measuring for a shoe-store or anything though), approximately 4 - 4.5 inches wide (at what I percieve to be the wides part of my foot).

I've been looking for years to find a suitable pair that doesn't destroy my feet, and isn't ridiculously priced, but so far no luck.

Maybe I just don't know where to look, so that's why I'm asking you guys!

It sometimes feels like large/wide feet are only supposed to wear frumpy, ugly shoes :( God forbid the shoe makers should ever make a shoe like this for people like me... *sigh*
