Hello,

Due to personal circumstances, my fiancé and I are unfortunately unable to proceed with our wedding plans as originally intended. My fiancé’s father recently passed unexpectedly, and we are in a period of grief and assisting her mother financially. As such, we are offering a 25% discount (negotiable) on the buyout of our wedding event contract in the Catskills.

The buyout includes the full transfer of all arrangements made for the event, including the venue and catering. As we have been otherwise inundated with end-of-life planning and funeral arrangements, we do not have any vendor contracts, leaving the buyer free to choose vendors, photographer, and DJ. We would prefer to find someone who can make use of these pre-booked services, rather than let them go unused.

Details:

Original contract value: $[50,642.08]

Discounted buyout price: $[37,981.56] (25% off - Very Open to Negotiating)

Event date(s): June, 2025

If you're interested or know someone who is looking for an exceptional wedding package at a reduced rate, please reach out to discuss further details.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration during this difficult time.

For inquiries, please contact me privately.

Hi! My fiancé and I really love Peconic Bay Yacht Club. However, we are worried there won't be enough accommodations. We are looking to set an April or May 2025 date for 150-160 guests. I heard that some hotels in Greenport/Southold etc. only allow you to block 10 rooms. Can anyone share their experience with this? Thanks in advance!

My one friend brought a Moissanite Engagement Ring and another one is having a Diamond. Both are telling me the pros and cons like Diamond is first in hardness scale, Moissanite gives much better brilliance, and Fire then moissanite. Moissanites are affordable and all. So now I am confused about choosing an Engagement Ring. Though it is not for me it is for my brother's wife but as I am an older brother so it is my duty to let them know what will be best for them a Moissanite or a Diamond Engagement Ring.

I visited the Marriage License website a few weeks ago and found out that I can get the license by virtual appointment. "Whoa! That was simple!" I thought. I decided that I was in no hurry to register since the marriage license was valid for only 60 days. WRONG!

LESSON: Register ASAP and see what appointment dates work for you. Do not want until the last minute because availability is limited during the pandemic.

The process seemed easy at first. It took me about 30 minutes to put everything together.

And I arrived at the step to schedule a meeting with the City Clerk. I was surprised to see only one slot in August, which was gone as I clicked on it. Then another slot in August came up but, again, was gone before I could confirm. And then I see no availability in August, not in September, not in October... (The website does not provide availability beyond October when I checked on July 31.)

I was puzzled as I clicked and clicked and it finally hit me that I may not be able to get married as planned because of this. I was in full panic mode. I googled and found out that the appointments were booked through September in a news article dated May 24. May 24!!!

I tried calling the office but no one answered. I clicked on the "report an issue" button of the website and sent a message. And for the next 20 minutes I was in full beast mode refreshing the website, my mouse clicking like a woodpecker... I eventually was lucky enough to get an appointment. So if you are in a similar situation like me, keep trying and good luck!

No one needs this kind of stress a month before the wedding...

My catering hall which is located in Port Jefferson, Long Island (the same company actually owns two in Port Jefferson and they are building a new one in Centerport) just told me that they are declaring themselves a restaurant so that they can hold events of up to 200 people which is 50% capacity rather than following the guidelines for social gatherings in New York which only allow a maximum of 50 people. I am worried about the health of my guests since I have a 150 person minimum but the catering hall is not offering to refund my money even though they will not be permitted to have any dancing, not even a first dance with me and my future husband. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi there! Has anyone had or been to a SMALL wedding at The Lodge? We think it's gorgeous but are concerned it might actually be too large a space considering we may only have 50 guests (including ourselves and the wedding party). There's another smaller venue we like as well, but the other venue can't host the ceremony and we're having an impossible time to find a separate ceremony location for the month we want. Just wondering if anyone has experience with 50 person wedding at The Lodge and if it worked well or if the space felt too big.

Hi everyone...

Finding a florist is the main thing left to check off my list and I'm having a difficult time. I have a pretty small budget, but even getting the florists to return my calls/emails is proving to be rather difficult. Does anyone have a florist they would recommend in the Troy, NY area? I'd be open to anywhere around the Capital District. My budget is around $500 and I'm looking for 5 bouquets (mine and 4 bridesmaids), 9 bouts, and 2 wrist corsages for the moms. Like I said, I realized my budget isn't huge, but I'm not looking for anything too big or over the top. I'd so appreciate any suggestions or advice!! Thanks!

Hi, I'm looking for venues on the lower end of the price range in central NY. Any suggestions? Inexpensive wineries/barns? One of the requirements is that we're looking for a place where we can stay partying past midnight.

I am aware of The Barn in Ithaca, which is within our budget at $2500, but they ask loud music be turned down at 11. I'd love to do a state park or pavilion, but so far the ones I've seen have had a noise/time limit.

Thanks in advance for understanding that I'm only interested in venue suggestions.

If you are going to go wedding dress shopping at the David's Bridal on Erie Blvd in Syracuse, ask for Shannon. She helped me purchase my gown yesterday and she is AWESOME. I didn't feel pressured into making a purchase and she was so sweet. I've heard a lot of bad stories about David's Bridal so I wanted to share the wonderful experience I had yesterday.

I tried on dresses in the morning at David's and did not make any decisions. My family and I went to lunch and had an appointment at Spy Baby Bridal in the afternoon. Every dress I tried on I kept thinking about that first one so I knew it was the one. I went back to David's at around 3pm and it was a ZOO. My mom went to see if the dress we wanted was still on the floor so I could try it on again. Shannon spotted her and even though she was busy with two other brides, she got one of the assistant managers, Di, who found me a fitting room. I rang the bell and went home with my dress since it was on the discontinued rack and was a super awesome price.

If you are thinking about going to David's Bridal in Syracuse, I would absolutely recommend Shannon.

This is my second wedding. I have worked in the bridal industry as well 10 years of marketing and such. I know how this all works. The vendors I WAS considering for my wedding (dj +karaoke *yeah* I like to sing and so does everyone else plus it's april fools day) uplighting, a bakery for our cake, photography, flowers, photobooth, are all trying to tell me it's the same price, when I know off peak is slightly cheaper. Plus our wedding is going to be on a WEDNESDAY! So I doubt a lot of these vendors have much going on wedding wise on a WEDNESDAY.

I live in Syracuse, wedding will be in Syracuse, and recommended vendors who will not give me the run around telling me its basically the same price? Or tips on excellent vendors at good prices? Thanks!
