My fiancee and I were having problems finding beautiful accesorial pieces for wedding invitations and center pieces. We went to GetBuckles.com and they have a fairly good range of cute buckles at great prices. They are almost 50% cheaper than anywhere else we looked.

I am looking for cheap transportation for my guests from the hotel to the wedding. Has anyone rented a school bus? I haven't had any luck finding something like that. BTW, the bus would only be bringing people from the Quality Suites in Evergreen to the Evergreen Lake House which is about 10 minutes. Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I am in the process of planning my wedding for next year. I realized that I have a long time to plan, but I am on a tight budget (as I know most of us probably are) and I really need time to price search. After looking extensively for wedding photographers in Denver, I realized that all of the good ones are very pricey.

I came across a business card at my favorite coffee shop (the Press Coffee Co. in Belmar) for a photography company called love.n.joy photography. I checked out their website and WOW.. did I love what I saw. They have a very artistic approach to their photography that is just beautiful. Their website is incredibly well put together, and they have a fresh perspective on life. Better yet, their prices were extremely competitive. The best I have really seen yet.

After speaking with them through e-mail, I feel in love with the idea of them shooting my wedding. Tess and Kimothy (the two photographers) are absolutely wonderful. They are quick to respond, friendly, helpful and willing to build a package with you that will fit your day perfectly. I just wanted to spread the word because I know that there HAS to be brides like me in Denver... brides who want beautiful photography but can't afford to spend 3,000-4,000 dollars....Love.n.joy offers packages with a wide range of costs, the cheapest being the lowest price I have seen anywhere.

After working closely with photographers for the last couple of years doing fashion modeling, I can tell you that there will always be TONS of photographers out there. I am just not sure that all of them can give you the personal experience, beautiful photography and price that love.n.joy can. I really do hope you check them out! Bridal Shower location suggestions?

Hi everyone - I actually got married a few years ago (and planned my whole wedding with input from other brides on the knot boards!) Now i'm a MOH in someone else's wedding, and I'm planning her bridal shower this summer. I don't live in CO, so i'm doing it all from a distance.

Can anyone suggest some places that I might want to look into in or near Denver, either based on where your shower was/will be, or other nice showers you've been to in the past? I'm open to restaurants, tea houses, in-home caterers, etc. It'll probably be about 20-25 people total.

I am looking for a good restaurant or catering company to serve heavy hors d'oeuvres or *maybe* lunch for my very laid back reception/party. Can you recommend a local restaurant who would be good for this? I'm in Thornton. There will be about 100 people and budget is about $2,000. The party will be around lunch time and more than likely outdoors, in August or September..nothing fancy. Thanks!

Exotic car rental?

So, my future hubby's one wish is to rent an exotic car for the wedding. He wants to drive it, only problem is-he will only be 24 and most places require the driver to be 25. He really wants drive it, not be driven by someone else. Does anyone have any ideas regarding this? Know of any places off hand?

Caterer Tip

Hello-
I was looking on the etiquette board and trying to find this out, but couldn't find the answer. How much do you tip the caterer? I have looked at the contract and there is a service charge, but this does not include gratuities. The toal bill is $6500, but $1000 of that is rentals, do I tip on the food and staffing total of $5500, the total of $6500 or the total of just the food? Does $1000 seem right for the gratuity? Do I give some to each wait person or just give the total to our coordinator and she will hand it out? Thanks for the help!

Hi! Hope it's okay I'm posting on this board for some help! I'm a former Knottie myself, now a Nestie! My soon to be sister in law is getting married in Estes Park at The Stanley Hotel. She is trying to finalize a contract, but has to give them times of when the ceremony and reception will start to secure her date. She is wanting to have the ceremony and pictures taken while it is still sunny...then have the reception when there is a moonlight through the windows.

I guess my question is, what time would make sense for her to have her ceremony and reception to accommodate the underlined desires?

P.S. We are from the East coast, so it is a destination wedding...that's why I'm asking about this since I'm not extremely familiar with when the sun sets over there and things like that so thank you VERY much in advance :)

I am a destination bride, I live in Atlanta and am getting married in Breck. I have already booked my ceremony/reception with Vail Resorts. I had seen pretty good feedback on one of their locations, so I thought I was safe to book with them. Yesterday I read a rant from another knottie about Breckenridge Hospitality, which I just learned is the same company as Vail Resorts. Other knotties commented that they are a wedding house and they don't care about their brides....... I am so nervous- anyone have positive feedback on Cat Ambros and Vail Resorts?

I am really not liking this snow.

I knew from the moment I was recomemded to cris I would LOVe her ( I think becaue we spell our names the same :)

Anyway becky my sister-in-law was going to do her own flowers for her wedding coming up on the 17th.

Of course it all became to much to think about and booking a florist had to be out of the question right??

No cris helped us less than an hour ago and made us feel soooo much better.

I just felt like saying something nice on this blog would make me feel better for all her help.

I'm struggling to find a location for our rehearsal dinner this July. Ideally, I would like to find something in West Denver near the Colorado Mills Mall, but I'm open to other suggestions too. We would need a private room that could fit 50-65 people and available for a Friday night. And of course, we are on a budget, so I need something that's not going to break the bank. Any ideas?

Just got my invitations in today and I love them! We actually ordered them from Costco and they turned out amazing.

I was a little worried at first but they are great-we got everyting invitations, rsvp, thank you cards, preprinted address on the envelopes all for $275 for a set of 100. Not too bad:) We originally were going to have them custom designed but that was running anywhere from $600-$800. Yikes!

UPS left the box out in the snow-we are lucky we got home before it was covered:D

We stopped by A-1 in Cherry Creek and they were pretty rude, so we wanted to try somewhere else who might be more helpful and also might have a larger selection. My fiance didn't like Men's Warehouse, either (too overwhelming maybe?) and I was hoping other people had good experiences with other tux places. He is going to wear a green stripey tie and we were thinking black tux or suit, maybe a subtle pinstripe?
Also, my dress is a diamond white and I was wondering if other brides had their men get a white shirt or we were playing around with a subtly green shirt...

officiant cost?

Just wondering how much everyone else is spending on their officiants. We budgeted $300, but we're finding that is not enough for someone to write ours customized. We don't really want to go the route of a judge, city clerk, etc, and we're not affliated with any churches, so we can't go that route either. The few we have met with or spoke to are quoting $400-$600. Is this the range that everyone else is in? It just seems like a lot of money! Yikes!

Officiant Etiquette - Rev. Michael Woods

Has anyone used him before? I am a little confused about etiquette, I guess. I know that traditionally, the officiant is invited to the RD and the reception. But is that the case if you are hiring someone that you've never met?
We are doing our rehearsal in the middle of the day, so we are gathering for lunch before instead of a traditional RD. Should I invite him? What about the reception? Has anyone else invited their "hired" officiants? Did you send them invitations or is it just assumed that they are invited with their spouse?
Also, I know if you pay for their services a tip isn't necessary, has anyone else tipped him?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in Washington, D.C. but I live here in Denver. The dress for the wedding showed up yesterday and it does not fit. I am in desperate need of a great alterations place as this dress will have to have a MAJOR makeover.
