My fiance and I picked out our ceremony venue - the Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs - but we're having SO many issues choosing a reception venue!

We'll be having around 200 guests who are mostly out of town, so we need somewhere semi-close to the Garden of the Gods area that can comfortably seat 200 people AND has a dance floor. We both have big, crazy families that are going to want to party HARD, so having room to dance (and breathe) is a must.

Our wedding is very vintage-chic, classic, romantic, etc., and we've looked at the ballrooms at the Crowne Plaza and the Antlers Hilton, but we just don't really like the feel of a plain-old hotel ballroom after a castle ceremony. We looked at the Garden of the Gods club, but their biggest room still seemed too small. We love the Briarhurst, but still too small.

There has to be some sort of barn or unique romantic venue SOMEWHERE in Colorado Springs that can hold 200 people.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Help is VERY much appreciated! =)
They answered my questions really quickly when I emailed them or called and made sure everything was how we wanted it too. They supplied the food (which was AMAZING got so many comments on it and packaged it up so we could take the leftovers home). The bartender was great and the alcohol only cost us 1850 for 2 kegs and top shelf liquor for 80 people for 5 hours. It was raining so we couldn’t use the outside for our ceremony but they made the inside just as perfect. The staff made sure me and the rest of the wedding party always had food and drinks when we needed it too and helped us clean up and put the hall together before the ceremony.Sarah Saiz Photography: A++++ If you want a great photographer who is very good priced find her. She lives in Texas but travels up to Colorado (just moved down to Texas). She was great the whole day and even stayed 2 hours after she was supposed to leave to keep taking pictures. She went hiking with my FI and his groomsman in the rain up to red rocks to get pictures and was soaked taking pictures outside of us to make sure we got good shots. She was around the whole time and if anyone wanted pictures she would be right there to take them. Our teaser pictures were up on Facebook 2 days after the wedding and we will get all the pictures within 3 weeks. I put our two pictures below that we got so far. She is excellent!!Videographer: The Pros-Brian A++ Brian was great he called me 2 weeks before and the week before to talk about exactly what I wanted. Showed up early and got drenched as well. He made sure he was there for all the special moments and worked great with our photographer. I can’t wait to see the video.DJ: DJ on Demand-Jeff A+. Jeff was awesome, he met with us several times and even got the songs we found on YouTube by just people who were playing the piano for our ceremony songs. Through the reception he was making sure everyone was having fun, played songs immediately if we requested or anyone else did. I would highly recommend him.Flowers: Christian Flowers-Ruth C- The flowers were very pretty but my bouquet fell apart 2 hours after the ceremony so I had to keep sticking the flowers in. She is very nice but the day before our wedding called me because she was confused on the delivery and had to drive all the way out to Aurora from Golden to verify it. She is very nice and sweet and her work is good but communication is not.Wedding Dress and Bridesmaid Dresses: Wedding Treasures in Castle Rock Outlets-Heather A++++ Heather and her girls are amazing!!! I was having such a hard time finding a dress and she helped me so much and even stayed open while I was making my decision. The girls dresses was priced lesser somewhere else and she matched them and took 10 percent off. I would highly recommend there store for anything you do. Hair: Kim Jundt and Corrie A++ Kim and Corrie were amazing. They came to the hotel early and spent the whole day making sure everyone hair and makeup was exactly how we wanted it. They even redid my mom’s hair three times because they didn’t think she liked it. We did two hair trials and she didn’t charge me for either one and came to my place both times. Corrie was such a great help and made my girls look fantastic.

My wedding is in less than a month and I'm trying to decide if I should put the guest book at the ceremony or reception site. I've always thought it should be at the ceremony site, but I'm wondering if it would be easier to put it at the reception site. Guests would be able to take their time signing, and it would give them something to do while waiting for us to arrive.

Thoughts? Thank you!

Working on getting the two big decisions out of the way. We have looked at a lot of venues ranging from Manitou to Monument, from local parks, to hotels, even a pirate restaurant. I am wondering if anyone else can give me any more ideas of somewhere to look.
For a venue we are trying to keep it as cheap as possible because we have large families so an inevitably large guest list. No more than $40/head.

As for a photographer, I am looking for the best quality for the cheapest price. I had a photographer in mind, duvaldigital.com, they are fantastic but they are booked on my day :(. I am a photographer myself so I am picky. I want someone who is very knowledgable and can work in any lighting conditions, I'm not concerned with special effects as long as they are good quality pictures. Also, it must be a 2 photographer team, or at the very least a photographer and an assistant.
For photographers, I don't want to spend more than $2000. Please give me some reccommendations! I am sick of looking. Thank you!

I know, I talk about L Elizabeth events all the time, but for those of you who HAVEN'T been to one yet, you should realy start! They're always so fun! And not the typical: Laura handpicks who the vendors are, and the evenings are always themed.

Df and I are going on this upcoming one, and I hope some of you will sign up too! What would be more fun than riding around in a limo for a progressive-dinner type evening?

Does anyone know of a reliable company where I can rent a bus in the Springs?? We don't have a lot of room in the budget for this, but we think we should provide transportation to the reception for our wedding party-which includes 20 people (with me and FH and ushers)! Even a school bus would be fine (and kinda funny). If we can't find anything, we definitely want to get a limo for the two of us. Is it wrong not to transport the WP? I've been in weddings that we had to find our own way to the reception.

So I just had to share with my fellow bride to be's. I know I literally waited till the last minute to get my dress but I was having a terrible time figuring out what my style was and it seemed like the dresses that I did like were far too expensive. I was referred to The Green Bride and what do you know...I found my dress! I had such a good experience with them, everyone else kept telling me it was too late to order a dress but I ended up buying one off the rack. I bought a beautiful "fit and flare" from Valentina and the best part about it was that it came in way under budget!!! ($450) Just wanted to give a shout out to the ladies at The Green Bride, thank you so much!!! I can't wait to wear it!!! :)

I am getting married in the mountains this July. Our reception was to be at a small restaurant in their private room. Unfortunately we have no contract and the woman who owns the restaurant has been unresponsive. We haven't talked to her since last August when we set up the plans, and now she won't return calls or e-mails. Now I am starting to get nervous that we won't be able to have our reception there anymore. I've called other places but guess what?! Everything else is now booked. We are expecting 30 or so guests, 99% of them from out of state, and now it looks like we'll have nowhere to go after the ceremony. I am really worried now and I am starting to think that I should postpone the wedding, or just go elope somewhere. Our budget is only $5k and we have no help from our families.

I don't know what to do, I just feel like crying. My fiance and I are both doctoral students, so we don't have a whole lot of time to do planning as it is and so far I've felt very unsuccessful - we've changed ceremony sites already and are desperate (the wedding will be in Rocky Mtn National Park).
