I'm looking for a ceremony site much like the one at Maroon Bells in Aspen CO. The only reason why I can't have the ceremony at Maroon Bells is bc they only allow 65 guests and my wedding is going to be around 150 people.

Does anyone know of a simple, quiet outdoor spot for a ceremony in Aspen? Elk Mountain Lodge was the other option and the venue was bought out a year ago so that is no longer an option either....HELP!!!!!

Ok ladies, I'm looking for a scenic outdoor area to have my ceremony/reception. We plan to have a smaller ceremony with about 50 people with a larger reception, about 100-150 people after with some cocktails and munchies inbetween. I prefer that the reception area either be indoors or be in a covered area due to the possibility of inclement weather. Don't want to break the bank on this and don't want a garden. We are willing to drive about an hour and a half max to get to where ever it is, and we prefer a mountainous setting. We want an on site facility to get ready. Catering can go either way as long as it isn't more than 15 per person. If it's a long drive there I would like to have lodging close by. I already have a prefered photographer, cake maker and I plan to make my own decorations and flowers.

Places I am currently considering:
Beaver Meadows
The Pines at Genesse
The Meadows at Marshdale

Places we have already decided against:
Chief Hosa Lodge
Willow Ridge Manor
Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch
Tapestry House
The Preserve at Bingam Hill
Lioncrest Manor

Oh and a lot more . . . Any ideas would be appreciated.

I thought I would get a head start on all of this planning stuff. I was engaged once before to a LOSER but didn't go through with it. All of the plans I made last time took so long to get in order. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't really want to marry him and deep down I knew it, or if planning a wedding is really as hard as it seemed. Either way I'm ready this time around. I found the man of my dreams, as I'm sure all of you ladies have as well, and I am so ready to say "I do". Any thoughts on where I should begin? I know what dress I want, I just hope to God it looks as good on me as it does the skinny chick in the mag. =D The colors I'm thinking will be black white and pink with a little yellow and orange mixed in. Is this a good combo? What are your thoughts ladies.... I'm open to all ideas!

Hi Everyone!
I was wondering if there was anyone here with any advice or info about using the Chatfield Botanic Gardens (with the red barn) as their wedding venue. I've actually photographed a couple of of weddings there & it's definitely one of my favorite venues that I've photographed at because it's just so darn pretty. I am thinking of a May wedding there.

So yeah, just looking for any thoughts about that place since it's one of the ones that stands out in my mind as a great place but obviously since I'm a photographer I'm always thinking about it from a photographer's point of view.

I'm so excited to finally be engaged and get to plan my own wedding:)
Thanks in advance for your .02!
April
