I am starting to look into invitation options. I have been looking online, but haven't found anything I loved that can be customized to my liking. I am trying to find some places in southern CT that I can go to and work with someone in person, but that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

My wedding is on june first this year and the photos and cocktail hour are outside. June can be a great time of the year for pictures but it also can rain alot. we are located in Newtown ct and are having out cerimony at the Newtown Meeting House. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place not far away that if it rains on our wedding day we can have pictures done inside. At a buisness, town hall, anything that might look good for pictures?

hello my fellow CT brides!! Im having a dillemma and could use some advice!!

Im looking for a rustic outdoor wedding and my budget is only 15,000.

I love the barns (too expensive!) and tyrone farms (way too expensive!)

I toured Webb Barn and loved it right away but now I'm having my doubts!

Anyone have a summer wedding there? Im looking into August 23rd of this year and Im concerned about the heat!? Also the size of the barn concerns me for space. Im inviting 100 people and it looks cramped especially with the size of the dancefloor!

Anyone think 10pm is too early of a shutdown time? The look of the barn is absolutely stunning but these concerns wont leave me alone!

Any other barn/rustic location ideas as well?

I am having a super hard time finding a wedding venue! Im from northern CT and have a bunch of family traveling from out of state (NY). So i really need to keep the venue in the western MA/northern CT area. Plus we do not have a massive budget ($15000-$18000) total. Does anyone have any ideas? We have looked at The Pond House Cafe in West Hartford and are looking at the Log Cabin in Holyoke tonight. Thanks!!!

wedding gown try on's plus size samples help

so in a few months mid to late summer i will be looking for my wedding gown i am plus size and find that most places only have smaller size samples mabye a 10 or 12 in the mix i want to be able to try on a gown in as close as possible to my size. (20) i know bridal bells in berlin has plus size gowns to try on as well as a place in glastonbury that sells sample gowns.

i went to davids bridal a few months ago and i wont go back i want a dress from a local place something thats unique that you wont see in a commerical place like davids bridal or alfred angelo.

i live in the central ct area but i am willing to travel to any part of central ct farmington valley area middlesex county, shoreline Saybrook westbrook new london waterford areas, manchester area. and as far as watertown,

my budget is 1500 but willing to spend up to 1800 if i find something that i like.

i cant tell how a gown thrown on me in a size 10 will look on my body the most they will do is put clips in the back ill be spilling out of the dress. i called a few places and most have no samples or maybe 1 sample ( does not help me)

Hammonasset state park

Has/is anyone here had or been to a wedding at Hammonasset or another state park?

I don't want a traditional wedding and FI wants a super casual celebration with friends so we're tying to compromise. The plan would be to get married just the two of us on the beach and then we were thinking that renting a pavillion at Hammonasset would be a great location for a BBQ celebration for our guests to show up after.

I'm just unclear if there is a permit required for getting married in the public setting.

Any input would be greatly appreciate, we're still very much in the early planning stages.

Hi, I'm getting married at Mahan's in Wolcott and am getting ready at my parents house in Torrington. I'm looking for a reasonably priced airbrush makeup artist who will come to my parents house. Everyone I have looked at online charges $50-70 for a trial, $70-200 for airbrush makeup, at least $50 for travel or requires at least 3 people to be getting their makeup done, to me this sounds outrageous (maybe I'm wrong)! I'd love to hear who people have used in the Torrington area and if you think getting airbrush makeup is worth it. Thank you!

Hi! I am looking for a place to have a reception in CT. We are having a destination wedding and I am trying to find somewhere very affordable to have a reception when we get back. I do not like the typical "wedding venues" and I am most picky with the fact that I don't want a carpet... I know that sounds wierd. But I like the barn, house, farm, museum, etc idea. Boudoir living social deal and a few questions

There is a living social deal for a boudoir package with Alicia from No Eye Has Seen photgraphy. Has anyone used this company or worked with Alicia (for boudoir or any other photography)? I was hoping that our photographers (RAW photo design) would put out a deal because I definitely do not want to pay full price, lol, but I"m not sure they are going to.

Second question: I'm a small person all aorund.....4'8", 83 pounds, and not busty (32A). Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can find stuff to wear for a boudoir shoot?? I've ordered countless items from Victoria's secret over the years only to have to return them all because they don't fit and it's getting frustrating. I also hate that a lot of their lingerie they don't even carry in 32A, but that's a whole other rant! So if anyone has any shopping ideas let me know!

I am new to CT and am looking for a venue to have a small (40-50 guest) wedding sometime this or next year. We just had a baby and are on a very tight budget -- we were planning a destination elopment and lost our deposit when we were unable to go due to the pregnancy so we litterally only have a few thousand dollars to work with, We dont need anything too fancy , just a place to celebrate with close family and friends. Any suggestions on venues? We are also considering skipping the whole dinner and dancing bit and having a cocktail party reception. TIA for your ideas!!
