Hi everyone!

Took a little bit of a wedding planning break while my FI and I went on a vacation and had various family events going on. I pushed and got the venue, caterers and church all set before going on vacation, so we are all set with those major checks!

Next on the list is photographers. I have poked around a bit at photographers that have shot at our venue location (Stonington Meadows) and have a list of suggested photographers but was hoping to get some reviews from the brides on here.

Who did you use? Did you like the photos? Was the price decent for what you got? Any input is appreciated!

Wedding venues that allow u to bring in caterers

Does anyone know of any venues that allow you to bring your own caterers? Most of our family lives close to Hartford so we are trying to stay within a 45min driving distance. We are trying to say away from the far corners of the state. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!!

Limo Companies?

Could anybody recommend any limo companies?
Silver Shield Limo has quoted me $350 for 3 hours for one 12-person stretch limo and they are very good limos. Is this a good price? Does anybody have other ideas?

So I was really hoping to use DJae Melee as our DJ but it looks like he might be booked for our wedding date (someone put a deposit down and he's just waiting for their signed contract) :-( Does anyone have recommendations for a DJ who is as good and as affordable as he is. We really want a DJ and lighting package that isn't crazy expensive (I loved his package of everything for $1000)? Just so bummed he's no longer available since I've heard such amazing things about him.

FI and I are trying to decide on a signature drink. What did you guys do? Did you check with your vendor prior to choosing? My reception is at Villa Bianca in Seymour and we have 5 hour top shelf liquor... so I assume my possibilities are just about endless?

I'm planning on getting married at the Branford House in Groton and I'm hung up on having a church ceremony. Being a transplant to the state I have no idea where to find a beautiful church in the area. I'm not catholic and those churches are usually the most beautiful. So I went dress shopping for the first time on Saturday. We went to 2 salons (Bliss Bridal and Bridal Bells). At Bridal Bells, I think I found my dress. I want to make sure it's really "the dress" but I don't konw if I should try on more dresses or not. HELP!!!

We just changed our wedding date and with that have to find a new photographer since our original one is not available on our new date.

We found another one that I like, but he prefers to shoot alone. Is 1 photographer enough or should I still ask him to get a 2nd one? I don't want to offend him by asking for the 2nd person. He assures me he alone will be sufficient.

I'm looking for a DJ for next May. It's a Sunday daytime wedding so obviously budget was part of the consideration. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good DJ. We met with one company and they seemed great and reliable but gave us a price of $1600. I have no idea if this is reasonable or not.

Hi all, I'm newly engaged and we just booked the Webb Barn for May 2013! We are so excited, the location exactly fits with who we are....one question: how many people did you have/are you having at your Webb Barn wedding? I know it can fit 135, but is there a "magic" number that works best? We will have at least 100 people, haven't finalized guest lists yet but before I push the limit at including all 135, wanted to check in here. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to find a location for a tented wedding in ct. We don't want anything to fancy, as we are trying to do a semi-formal brunch wedding.

Hoping for something similar to a backyard wedding, we would love to have a backyard wedding, but don't have any relatives with a yard big enough. Our guest list is about 100 and our budget is low!

We are looking around CT like crazy trying to find a venue that we love! There are a couple on our list, like The Riverhouse, Saint Clements, and The Society Room, but there are things about each that have prevented us from committing just yet.

We started looking for other ideas....Has anyone ever been to or had their wedding at any of the vineyards in Stonington, CT? There are a few, Stonington Vineyards, Saltwater Farm Vineyard, and Jonathan Edwards winery.

There is also a new venue opening in 2013 called Aria, in Prospect, CT. Would it be crazy to book a place thats not even totally built yet? They said they already have people booked starting in March, and we are looking for July, but it is supposed to be done January 2013, they are just saving extra time in case. We were thinking about meeting with them to get some info but has anyone booked with Aria yet or have an opinion about this or had a similar situation?

Hi all! This is my first time ever posting. I've been engaged for a year now and We are finally deciding on getting married next year(did not choose specific date, looking for an off peak season).
