I have

-18 clover green organza tablecloth overlays 90"x90" + some misc clover green organza fabric

-twig votive wraps and partially used votive candles

I have about 15 pint size mason jars and a couple quart size mason jars (maybe 4) I could go count them if anyone is interested. I think I still have the glass stones too.

I have yellow and green paper lanterns. Some were never used! Again, if anyone is interested I could go count how many I have. I think they are 16" and 20"

Ceremony Music! Help!

My fiance and I are getting married at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Norwich CT. We are trying to decide what to do for our ceremony music. Our choice has come between either a string trio or a combination of a trumpet, grand pipe organ, & timpani.
On one hand I love the strings because they are romantic and go along with the vintage theme of the wedding, on the other hand the sound of the trumpet with the pipe organ sounds so regal and majestic inside the huge cathedral (the sounds resonates beautifully).. my fiance says what that we should go with whatever I like best.... but i can't decide!! What would you choose??

HI. My mom is coming up from VA this week to go dress shopping with me. Because of the travel and I need a dress for this year, trying to fit in as much as possible while she's here.

Does anyone have recommendation of dress shops in lower Westchester or Fairfield county areas? I'm looking for something that has a large selection/variety of affordable dresses, great service of course, and onsite, but affordable alterations?

(fyi - with regards to "affordability", for me, I would love to find a dress for around $1200 (before alterations), give or take... so any recommednations of dress shop that carries dress around this price point and has good customer service, including alterations, would be great)

So very excited. I live in SC but am from CT originally and we will be getting married up there. I was home this past weekend for the CT Bridal Expo thank goodness.

I fell in love with "Jock in the Box" and was wondering if anyone has used them or been to an event they have done?????

Also Russell's Photographey works witht hem and I was also wondering if anyone has used them.

Thinking about either The Society Room in Hartford, Riverview in Simsbury or a brand new place thats not going to open until a month before the wedding which scares me to death

My fiance and I got engaged over Christmas... we just started saving money for our wedding; we are planning on getting married Aug of 2012.
My dream wedding reception would be this:
As small as possible; close friends; Great food, great music... all on the beach. I mean sand between my toes, tiki torches and/or paper lanterns... all under the stars...
The only problem is that we live in CT!!! :(
Does anyone have any ideas as to where i can have my dream wedding? I'd appreciate all the help!!!

My FI and I are going with the G. Fox Room. It is much cheaper to have a Sun. wedding but I am a bit concerned on the end time. We have to be finished by 10pm.

How do you end a wedding? I've only been to Fri. & Sat. evening weddings that just seem to end whenever. Do you make an annoucement? I'm clueless...

Do you let them pick the food from the menu or just give them professional food as the venu has for them?
I'm thinking about sending my invitation to only for my photographer but I don't know if that would be rude for others.

Hello all,

Flowers are a part of our day that are not the most important thing to us. I obviously want them to be nice but would like to keep costs down. I know it will be tough because I am having seven girls plus two little girls. Then there are the centerpieces (which I'd like to have not include flowers or even make myself) and various other decor. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced florists? I would like to spend no more than $1500 (I have no idea if that is even possible!!).

Got our wedding bands! FI got the kind that cannot be damage which is exactly what he needs. Mine is white gold with little round diamonds and looks perfect with my ering. For some reason this was the check that made everything suddenly seem very real. A little over 4 months and I get to put it on. Can't wait! Just wanted to share my excitement :)

Bridesmaid Dresses/Flowers

Hi Ladies!!
I am planning to head out on Saturday to start the search for my Bridesmaids dresses. Any ideas where to look?? I am having such a hard time picking a set color too. I figured if I wait until I actually see what is out there and what we all like then I can decide. I really like the bright colors (we are getting married in August this year), but then again I feel like the room should have pale colors, such a pale pinks and ivory.

And one more thing :) ....I totally want to change my wedding date to June because my absolute favorite flower, Peony, is out of season in August and there is no guarentee that any one can actually get them from other countries then. I want a big full flower, any other suggestions on other types of flowers in August? I kind of want to stay away from the typical rose...

Enzoani sizing

My gown is in! :) so I am excited to put it on again...it has been almost 7 months and I almost forgot what it looks like! Does anyone have experience with Enzoani gowns? I know that Enzoani sizing is very close to "street size" so I trusted my bridal consultant when she told me she was ordering my dress in a size 2, even though I was expecting to order my gown in a larger size. But I think I may have gained an inch in my waist over the winter, and I'm worried that the dress will be too tight when I try it on next week. I'm going to the bridal salon next week to show the dress to my mom and FMIL, and I am hoping the fabric will be forgiving enough to allow an extra inch in the waist. Anyone have experience with Enzoani? Specifically Enzoani fit n flare styles?

Woohoo!! My fiance and I just booked out honeymoon(s) last night! What a relief. :) We are doing a mini honeymoon to Newport right after the wedding, and then in June- 4 nights in Vegas, followed by 6 nights in Mexio. :) Thanks to all of you who helped out in the decision, we ended up going with Secrets Maroma Beach.

My FI and I have finally narrowed our venues down to The Riverview and The Geshon Fox Room. Prices are pretty equal for the time of year we are looking at but I am having a very hard time choosing. I want to pick the perfect one! My FI likes them both equally so he left it up to me.

Dance lessons!

My FI and I went to as wedding this weekend and came to the realization that we (especially him) HATES dancing! He doesn't seem to think dance lessons would help us at all, but I feel like we dance like we were in middle school. I don't want to do the waltz or anything, but I think dance lessons would at least make us more comfortable and not fear looking like idiots when everyone is watching!

Any suggestions of places in the Danbury area? Somewhat affordable as well!! :)

Mother of the Bride/Groom Gift

So innitially I was going to get my mom and FI's mom zip-up hoodies embroidered with "Mother of the Bride" and "Mother of the Groom" to wear while getting ready. I'm having such a hard time finding hoodies in the sizes I need, so to save myself a little stress, I am abandoning the idea. BUT now I need to think of another gift to get for the moms. We got the dads cufflinks and plan to give both sets of parents a copy of the video and a photo album later this year, so it doesn't have to be anything extravagent. I'm trying to stay away from jewelry b/c they both have SO much of it and already have their jewelry for the wedding. Any ideas?

Bridal Shower location suggestion

Does anyone have any suggestions on venues for a bridal shower? I'd like to do something off the beaten path if possible. Fairfield County would be ideal - Norwalk, Westport, Stamford, Greenwich if possible.
I love Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC but don't think there's anything like that out here.
Anyone have any suggestions for a cool bridal shower spot?
We may just have to stick with a restaurant but I'd like to make it as fun as possible.

is anyone "going green" for their wedding

Is anyone on this board trying to plan a "green" wedding? My main goal is to make sure the big day has as little impact on the environment as possible so I'm trying to brainstorm ways to make that happen. Some things I've come up with so far

1. Skip out on save the dates. Our wedding is not going to be until June of 2013 so plenty of time to get the word out to "save the date" other ways

2. Sent paper invitations only to those guests who do not use email/the internet. Everyone else will get an evite with a link to a wedding website. Not 100% sure how I feel about this, as I know some people would like to have some sort of paper memory about the day........but it defintely would cut down on paper resources being used

3. Make a charitable donation in memory of a family member who passed away at a very young age on behalf of the wedding guests instead of table favors. If FMIL insisists on favors (which she is already alluding that I *must* do), I have a friend who makes chocolate pops in the shape of the breast cancer ribbon. she charges $1 per pop and donates all the proceeds to charity. I may end up doing both of these ideas actually.

4. Use a photographer that will give us our photos on a disc and the rights to printing so we can pick and choose which ones we want printed and make our own photo albums.

5. No wedding program. We are getting married at our reception site by a JOP and are hoping for a under 20 minute ceremony so no need for a program.

6. Keep the extras of the reception to a minimum. I've been to a few weddings that have the venetian table and while a nice touch, I notice that most of it doesn't get eaten........

7. Minimize fresh flowers. Basically only the wedding party will have fresh flowers, I don't plan on using any for additional decorations.

If anyone else is "going green" and has additional ideas I'd love to hear them!!

Hey Everyone!!

So I just wanted to start out by saying Congrats to everyone (engaged and married) I think I will be so upset with the big day finally comes and there is no more anticipation lol. Anyway, just wanted to pass along my photographers info, I was lucky enough to find her. We are paying for our entire wedding ourselves, so we didn't have a huge budget to begin with, but still didn't want to skimp on quality. While looking around I came across Krista, she is beyond talented, when I first looked at her work I was convinced there was no way I could afford her. Well I was wrong, her wedding package for 8 hours is $850!! I honestly couldn't believe it. She also gives you a CD with printing rights as well, which was super important to us because we wanted to be able to share our pictures of our big day with everyone! Anway, if you want check out her website if you are still on the search for a photographer. She is so sweet and talented you won't be dissapointed!
