Hair Extensions for the Wedding?

I went for my hair trial this weekend and my hair stylist put extensions in my hair and it looked great. I have thin hair and I want to leave most of my hair down curly, the extensions made my hair look fuller and nicer. Anyone getting hair extensions for the wedding? Are you doing it yourself or is your hair stylist doing it?

Another thing... is or has anyone gotten married at Paradise Cove? What caterers did you use and did anyone use Aloha productions? Reviews? I have been married for almost three years... I haven't been to the knot in while, but I wanted to give my wedding photographer a wonderful review. I used Scoobie Photograpy for our wedding and had a wonderful experience! Scoobie and his wife were wonderful and truly captured our day in beautiful pictures. We loved our wedding pictures so much, we still use Scoobie. We did pics this past weekend of our baby girl. Scoobie did yet another fantastic job! Sorry to go on and on, I just wanted to share a good vendor! Happy wedding planning!

So I thought I would stop by and give you some pointers and things I have learned along the way :).

1) Make sure people know what they are suppose to do or have a person ( or DOC) appointed so everyone ( vendors and such) can go to them. Even if your doing most of the wedding stuff yourself instead of hiring venders.
2) Don't be nervous you might miss something.
3) Dont be afraid to speak your mind to your photographer. If you want a certain type of picture just tell him/her.
4) No matter what everything seems to fall into place
5) Dont forget to stop and relax and sink it all in.
6) Practice/ make sure FI ( and you ) know what hand and finger your ring is suppose to go on .
7) Have a recieving line. We did and loved it . You can mingle with all your guest and see everyone . We did our fairly close to the buffet line. So when people went through the recieving line then they could hop over to get there food and it wouldnt be a 100 people trying to get food at once .
8) Steal a special moment with just you and your FI and have the photographer capture it.
9) Just breath its never perfect
10) Don't assume everyones coming even your family. Theres so many girls who families didnt RSVP and they assumed they would be there and tthey were not.

I will probably have a few more down the road .lol

Is everybody getting excited for the get together? I'm not sure if everybody is on the fb group, so i wanted to put an update on here, too. I called today and got them to drop the price to $18.95 per person and to upgrade the pasta to fettuccine alfredo. Woo-hoo! And jess has taken care of reserving the room and creating a menu with the staff at Buca. Per Jessica's email, here is the menu info:

"Caesar Salad
Garlic Bread
Chicken Parmigiana
Fettucini Alfredo
Tiramsu
Unlimited beverages - soda, coffee, tea

Everyone will recieve their own check at the end of the evening with the flat rate of $18.95. Other beverages (alcohol) and food can be purchased... it will just be added to your seperate check."

I know I've been MIA for a while but I want to thank you all for all of the ideas and suggestions you gave me! You guys are all wonderful and I can't thank you all enough!

The wedding was everything we could ever want and ask for. It was GORGEOUS weather and we had a BLAST at the reception. We just got back from our cruise last night and it was so much fun! Looking forward to making a lifetime of memories with my hubby <3.

We rented out the Main Hall section only but they allowed us to use the Annex room for getting changed ( they also have a separte bathroom so no guest could see us).

We rented the space from 2pm-8pm and only paid about $700 . They allow you to come in for 3 hours ( whatever 3 hours you choose ) to set up the venue.   Vendors can come in whenever as long as you inform the center of time so they can have someone there.

They set the chairs/tables/ stage however you want it. They come in super early and do it . They ask you to give them a drawing. They provide teh tables and chairs - no extra charge.

They have a stage area they said they could move if we wanted it somewhere else . But we had it on the opposite side of the Annex room. Our Dj set up up there.

hen we set chairs up ohn the dance floor area for the ceremony and had the chairs set up in rows in the back .

The Cons:

1)They just changed management in Jan so it took them a little bit to get everything settled.
2) They didnt have a diagram for the floor plan when I first rented the place. Well the new   guy ended up making one . So they have them now. But we had to change the tables arrangement last minute but it all worked out and they said it would never happen again.
3) Get everything in writing . They forget somethings But were fine with what I wanted . I just had to remind them .
4) The floors were dirty . I would make sure that they are clean day of.   Thats the only complaint I truly have .

But other than that they were very very helpful and willing to do what we asked.

   We had 140 seats at the ceremony   section and 140 in the tables but we could fit more at the tables if we wanted. They can fit alot more then that there.

So all in all . I think its worth it for the price. If you ahve anymore questions I will be happy to answer

Photographer - Ginger Midgett or Lora Rodgers?

Okay, so I have narrowed down my photographer list to Ginger Midgett and Lora Rodgers. I have heard good things about both from various places but do not see any reviews on the wedding sites (The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc.) for either. I have a meeting scheduled with Ginger next weekend, and trying to schedule something with Lora as well (I want to gauge how their personalities click with mine). They are both offering similar prices for almost the same amount of work (I'm getting 7 hours with one and 12 with the other). I was wondering if anyone on here has used either of them and has any feedback????

My daughter was married last Saturday (3 days ago) and we had Nancy from Kissimmee Florist do our floral arrangements. They were just spectacular - actually exceded our expectations.
The theme was green and white and as our guests poured into the reception area there was a real "wow factor".
I would definitely recommend Kissimmee Florist!!

Manicures

I'm interested in trying out the gel manicures because I ALWAYS end up chipping them within a day of getting them done the normal way, and usually as I'm walking to my car. I know it's bad. I want to try it out before I get them done for the wedding in June. Anyway, I'm trying to find a place in the Orlando/Altamonte Springs area that does them properly. From what I've read I should avoid places that use filing to get the polish off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
