Hi ladies,

I don't know how many of you are using silk flowers versus real flowers, but I had great luck at Marge's specialty shop on OBT and Lee Road. I got my bridesmaid bouquets for $18.95 each and they're quite lovely. They look real and feel real to the touch, so I couldn't be happier! The single flowers there tend to be in the $5 or more price range, but there are some pre-assembled bouquets you can get for under $30. They do have a wedding specialist who can create a bouquet for you based on the flowers you pick for a higher price. Hopefully this information can help some of you! Good luck.

I was originally going to use bubbles as FI and I exited the reception but now that I've learned that the bubbles won't show up in pictures, I'm thinking I'm going to use sparklers instead.

I LOVE the pictures with them in it and it would be something different to do. Does anyone know where I can buy them from? Also does anyone have any cons about them? Just curious. Thanks ladies! <3
She said it's only supposed to be her and my father's name.

To me that seems rude. His parents aren't helping pay for the wedding, so is that what determines whose name is on the invite?

Only my parents are paying for the wedding, so does that mean only their names should appear on it?

TIA :)

Okay, this probably seems really silly, and I'm not sure how much of a saving it is, but I thought I'd post them in case someone else could use the idea!

I really wanted personalized napkins, but I figured I needed about 400 or so, and I really didn't want to pay $15 to $20 for a 50-pack for a total of $120 to $160 for something people will immedialy throw away. So, I used a Sizzix embosser and folder that I got on sale at Michael's for $7 each, napkins in my colors from Party City for $3 per 50 ($24), and I bought a long-handled embosser from Southwest Rubber Stamp Company online with our married monogram for $50 for a total of $88. Plus, I'm using the embosser on the Thank You Notes and envelopes to continue my monogram theme, and I'll likely use it continuing in married life. This probably will give you more savings if you need more napkins and have a larger guest list, or if you already have an embosser/folder.

All I had to do was run the napkin through the hand-crank embosser in the floral folder, then stamp it with the embosser. It took me about three hours to do all of them, with a friend helping for about an hour of that.

Well this has been a crazy ride and I am so glad to get off the roller coaster!!

I could not have done it without theknot who provided me with the best wedding coordinator in the world (Charisma Moran: www.charismamoranevents.com), an amazing hair and makeup artist (Meghann Davis: www.makeupbymeghann.com), off the hook professional and student musicians for a steal (Valerie Pernice: www.classicmix.org/about.html) and the best wedding photographer a girl could ever want (Nicole Faust: retroblingjewels@gmail.com). Thank you to you wonderful ladies for your advice, you amazing stories that you share every day and for the constant support. Here is the advice I can pass on:

- Spend the money to hire a reliable DJ... do NOT hire your brother's friend for 1/10th of the normal DJ price and end up having to buy two wireless microphones 2 hours before the reception and playing songs from your itunes because his equipment won't work!!!

- The day goes by so quickly, little things won't matter on that special day so try to relax and enjoy the ride

- Don't plan on eating your meal because I was so nervous and excited that I had two bites! But try to eat something, you don't want to be passing out!

- Take the time to go around every table and thank the guests for traveling to your wedding.

- You can't please everyone. There will always be someone that's angry about their seat or some other mundane detail that will not matter on that day. Accept the fact that you can't please all your guests/wedding party.

- Don't go on your honeymoon leaving a dirty house behind. Trust me you will appreciate coming home to a nice, clean place after a 15 hour flight!!

- Dance!!!! As much as you can :) (that is if the music is actually playing and the DJ knows how to press play on a laptop)

Again thank you for a wonderful 6 months of planning. Try not to go crazy, in the end, all that matters is the one you get to kiss at the end of the aisle.... and the pictures!!

- Marie

Hello!

I've been on the board for a while but just recently started preparing for my wedding. Well recently I have been dress shopping with my mom. I tried on a couple of dresses and went to a couple of different dress shops and picked a dress. I got a really good deal on the dress and thought it was the one. I loved the dress when I tried it on and thought I was done. I went home and started second guessing myself. Now I am in a dilemma. I am on a budget and don't know what to do. I don't know if I should try on the dress again and see its all in my head or I need to try and get a different dress. If I do decide to get another dress, I want to sell this one to get my money back or at least the majority of it. Does anyone know any sites or stores that buy wedding dresses?

Thanks again
