We had a gorgeous swarovski crystal monogrammed cake topper made for us for our wedding. It was expensive so I wanted to do something with it after our wedding. I put it in a shadow box and hung it on our bedroom wall. Here's a pic:

I had originally thought about cutting off the stakes but I found a better easier way. I got some styrofoam and high quality black and ivory paper from Joann's. I measured and cut the styrofoam to fit exactly inside the shadowbox frame then I stuck the cake toppers in it to make sure they would fit appropriately inside the frame. I took the cake toppers out after creating their holes then I wrapped the styrofoam in black paper and marked where the holes would line up. I punched through the paper with a pair of scissors and stuck the cake toppers back in. Finally, I measured and cut the ivory paper and stuck it to the backing of the shadowbox and assembled everything together.
I'm really happy with it and it looks beautiful in our bedroom so I thought I'd share in case anyone else wants to do this with their cake topper.
My cake topper was from dazzlemeelegant.com.

Problem is, I am having a very hard time finding a hot pink dress. So my question is, has anyone seen any in stores lately? I am from Ocala but am not opposed to going to Gainesville or Orlando to get it. I would like it to be under $100 though. Thanks for any input!! :)

Hey Ladies!! :)

I'm having my ceremony in Ocala, Fl at Shalom Park (ourdoors) on April 16, 2011, mid-afternoon (2pm). We are on a REALLY tight budget (think basically $0 - $1500). My dress is Ivory, my BM's are wearing chocolate dresses with champagne sashes. Other accent colors are sky blue and sunflower yellow. I'm a relaxed, sunshiny, smiley kind of person; but I'm not very savvy with planning food or flowers.

The problems I'm having are this:

What kind of food should I serve at the reception? I was thinking that hors d'oeurves would be best, since a full-blown meal would be more expensive. But what should I serve? Remeber: cheap is better!

And...

I still haven't found a florist, but I also don't know what flowers I want. My favorite flowers are daisies, wildflowers, and roses. I love the idea of a hand-tied, homemade bouquet, but I'm getting resistance from my mom on that... Are there any flower-savvy people out there that can help me? Remember: cheap is better!

I really, really, really appreciate any help that you can give me! If you have pictures, that would be even better! I feel like I have scoured the internet and still not learned a thing.

I've been on these boards since we got engaged. I've been mostly using my month board and a little on the south Florida board...but now, by the suggestion of that moderator, I'm not sure if I've been on the right local board! Honestly I feel like I could be on either south OR central.

I'm in Port Saint Lucie, wedding in Martin county. Anyone else here from the Treasure Coast?

So the advice I have gotten over and over again is to make sure to video tape the wedding. My FI and I would love to have it done, but we are not sure that it's in our budget. Does anyone have any creative/inexpensive suggestions and/or referrals. If so I would love to know them. Thanks so much! I hope that everyone has a great New Year!

After some issues arose, FI and I are postponing our wedding indefinitely. :( I haven't decided whether I'm selling all my stuff yet, but I do need to sell my Groupons because they have expiration dates on them. Some are awesome deals. I will be able to email the file directly to anyone who wants to buy them, but they will have my (or in some cases my sister's) name on them, which Groupon says is no problem at all. I figured I'd offer them to my CFL ladies first. Message me back or email me at ashbosity@hotmail.com if you're interested or have questions. I have:

Two $35 gift certificates to Fancy Fortune Cookies (redeemable only online) for $15 each Expires May 13, 2011 Both can be bought by the same person, but two orders will have to be placed in different names, i.e. you order 100 chocolate, FI orders 100 coconut. Here's the full info: http://www.groupon.com/orlando/deals/fancy-fortune-cookies-orlando

One 16x20 gallery wrapped photo canvas from Canvas on Demand including shipping and handling for $45 (a $126.95 value, redeemable only online) Expires June 26, 2011 http://www.groupon.com/orlando/deals/canvas-on-demand-orlando-3

Two gift certificates for a dozen mini cupcakes from Cupcake Jubilee for $7 each, includes delivery for all Orlando area.
