I decided yesterday I want to completley change the flower arrangments and bring the price down by at least 2,500.
I have been engaged sincee Dec 11th and am loving it!!! besides the fact that lil to nich of it has been planned. The date is set for April 23rd 2011, but it seems like a lot of other ladies like this date as well. This was suppose to be the first step to starting the planning progress but with going to school full time, and working 2 jobs I have not been able to begin until about 2 weeks ago. I am in the process of looking for a venue, but its such a pain in the butt because my fiances uncle is paying for it and told us to plan the wedding of our dreams, to a wedding that will surpass are needs. Along with this comes with trying to figure out how many people and sending invitations out to those flying in. My fiance wants around 200, and I am fine that but once again planning two weddings for 200 and planning a wedding for less is difficult, because that also means two venues.Every place I have called is booked, so I am finding this is becoming more difficult. He is not sure how much he can pitch in so he asking for us to design two weddings and then based on his budget we'll pick one :) I am thrilled that he will pay for our wedding, just concerned about the date and other things! I am so thankful for his donation to such a special day. The problem is I dont have enough time to plan one wedding let alone two. I guess I don't know whats next! My fiance is a very laid back.. and it will work itself out type of guy. Which is good, besides now.
A few questions! 1. Where are you getting married? I live in the tampa area and am willing to drive.2. Should the date be moved? Are we trying to pull the impossible. Thank yo

Anyone used them or talked to them? They have 10 reviews of all 5/5 stars on Wedding Wire. I saw their ad on Craigslist, but their DOC package is only $325 for up to 100 people, which I could probably swing. I'm just nervous about things because my officiant has never performed a ceremony before (friend's dad) and I know I will worry about everything day of. Any input, ladies?

I am getting married at Casa Feliz next August and am looking for rehersal dinner and hotel room block suggestions. Ideally I would like to keep as much as possible in the Park Ave area. I don't think this will be a huge issue for the rehersal dinner but I'm not sure if there are any hotels in the area. Has anyone done a hotel block in Winter Park?

If there is nothing in Winter Park I would much rather go south, ie Downtown Orlando, rather than north, ie Maitland or Altamonte Springs. I think people will most likely want to go out after the wedding (the reception ends at 6) so I think it makes sense to have hotels close to nightlife.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions! I grew up in Orlando but haven't lived there for about 6 years so I am not super familiar with good restaurants or things like that anymore. I do know the area though, and know how to get around. Thanks in advance for the help!

My fiancé and I are totally stuck between having our ceremony at Leu Gardens and reception at the Winter Park Farmers Market or having the whole shebang at the Lake Mary Events Center. If anyone has had their reception at the farmers market I would greatly appreciate pros and cons you ran into. Is it really difficult to spruce up and require a lot of decorations? Likewise with Lake Mary. Any information/advice is greatly appreciated!
I hate that places get booked so early .. uhg what to do what to do.

Thanks in advance for your replies :)

As a previous bride of Sunset Harbor, I had my own issues with this club.

My issues failed in compassison to what I witnessed this past Saturday.

I was in attendance at a wedding this past Saturday. I was appalled at the unprofessionalism of Colleen, the Banquet Operations Manager. She had an altercation with the photographer and linens vendor! The same vendor I used that turned my budget wedding into a platimum wedding! Whatever issues she had with the vendor should have been handled inside her office not in the reception room where all the fellow guests could hear her. She came out several times, while guests were still in the room, when the music wasn't playing, yelling at the vendor. She shouted words like, "Go home Lyndsey!" "How dare you!" "Wait until I tell Kathleen!" (Kathleen is the Sales Manager, that is also very snobby and overly critical of people) Colleen returned and started ripping chair cover and sashes off the chairs. Throwing them on the floor. She began yelling at the photographers assistant as well. She and another employee, a waitress, started to harass the DJ, that was related to the vendor.

She also begain to curse and shouted from inside the kitchen, where staff and the florist could hear her. This is absolutely appalling! I am embarrassed to have been associated with Sunset Harbor and have already reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

Again, whatever issues she had with the vendors, Colleen should have waited until ALL the guests had left.

If I would have known that this is what goes on behind the scenes I would have never had my wedding there.

Whew. I hope this may help somebody in the future. Beware and alert your vendors.

- Jasmine

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone know of a nice space to have a bridal shower? My cousin is looking into The Cottage at Lake Lily for mine, and from pictures (although there aren't that many) it looks really cute. Has anyone been to The Cottage for a shower, event, or just in general?

Also, if anyone has any other location suggestions, that would be great! We are looking for more of a space rather than a restaurant.

Thanks :)

200$
This is a brand new wedding dress that has never been worn. I purchased it because I wanted a short dress to change into just for my reception so I could dance easier. However, we were rushed and ended up having no time between pictures and the reception to change so I never got to wear it.

It is a beautifully made dress. It is designed exactly after the classic wedding dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in Funny Face as you can see in the picture below.

The top is a bateau style and the top and underlining are made with heavy matte Ivory silk.

The bottom is ballgown style with two layers of Ivory tulle over the silk.
