Hi Ladies!

Well, I had written before about how Jay Edwards was booked on our date and asked for your recommendations. (PS - thanks for all the suggestions!) I also asked Jay for a few suggestions. So here is the short list (your's and Jay's combined)...but I still would like a few more reviews, if anyone has used them:

A-List DJ Entertainment (Asher Grier)
Soundwave (Wes is booked, but Wendy noted Paul was available)
Adam Alexander

We've spoken to each, and they all seem great. FI and I want our reception to be the greatest party - we want the dance floor packed, and the DJ to keep the party started/going, but do not want a "typical" wedding DJ - think too talkative/super emcee-ish/bad wedding DJ :)

Hi! I renewed my vows with my husband for our 10th Anniversary and it was amazing! We eloped the first time and so we did things a bit backwards...now we did the ceremony! ha ha But it was better that I ever hoped! here are some reviews and suggestions for vendors I used!

Location: Doubletree Resort on International Drive (near the convention center)
Beautiful! Wonderful! But with any venue, you want to go over every detail and check the BEO BEFORE signing it when it gets near the event date. We had a bit of a snag the week before. I was supposed to have my ceremony on the balconey overlooking the waterfall pool. But there was a bride that had booked before me and the venue had not given sufficient time for setup between ceremonies. Although stressed out for a minute, the venue had suggestions and it ended up switching even the reception location. But it all worked out better and more wonderful! Just remember, snags will happen...just keep your mind open and figure out a plan b!

DJ: Al Dee Productions
SO VERY GOOD AND UNDERSTANDING!! Music was wonderful. perfectly timed and the DJ (Fernando) even added some other music that I may not have requested, but fit perfectly with the tune of the evening! In all my stress, I forgot to have payment there for the DJ and Al Dee was so understanding! I assured him I would send it to him and I did!

Cake: Main Course Cakes
The cake was delicious and what i had ordered. She was also able to make a special diabetic cake for my parents and didn't charge me an arm and a leg! A friend did point out that the cake was leaning a bit, but I didn't notice so much because I was so busy!

Favors: Schakolad in Winter Park
Joe was awesome! He worked with me and everything! Gave me exactly what I wanted! I did provide my own favor boxes, but he stuffed them for me for a very reasonable fee! definitely worth the saving on my time and stress level!

Linens: tableclothfactory.com
After seeing how expensive linens were, I did it on my own. I had white tablecloths and chair covers from my venue, but i did chair sashes and runners on my own. Friends tied it for me. It was very simple, elegant and beautiful.

Dress: Davids Bridal
Very reasonable and alterations were very affordable as well! Awesome!

Hair and Makeup: Meghann Davis
Airbrush makeup, simple hairstyle, fake eyelashes...she did an awesome job. Especially since I booked her super late...like 1 week before my wedding!! She was able to fit me in thank heavens!!

Flowers: Bay Hill Florist
Awesome to work with. Gave me just what I wanted for less than I expected!

If I think of anything else, I will post more.

Hey ladies :)

Wedding planned for March 17, 2012. Just about a year and a half away. Obviously in the beginning stages of wedding plans. We are tossing around tons of ideas (which i'll list below) and would love any input and additional ideas you may have.

This is a budget budget wedding! My fiance and I already have a wonderful child together, (7 months) and are not looking to go into debt for the affair. I would say a budget of 5-6k for wedding and reception not counting decor and DIY projects as I will do those slowly (Luckily I have the time!)

There will be about 50-75 guets max. Some out of towners for sure as my family lives in Michigan, and much of his in nebraska.

We are not real finiky about the wheres or whats. Most important to us is an enjoyable time for our family and good music :)

Ideas we are considering:

Beach wedding. Possibly renting a large vacation home on beach and hosting the small reception at the home. (assuming this is okay with the owners)

Beach Wedding, reception at a venue near by

Winter Park Farmer's Market Wedding. The rental is definitely in our budget... I'm just not sure how the logistics would work since the reception site would be directly next (same building) as reception site. (Do Guests just immediately move into room for drinks etc? Also logistic issues with Winter Park.. they have a Farmer's market every saturday so the venue will be occupied until 4pm. Which would require an evening wedding. But even if the wedding was 6pm... that does not allow much set up time.

Ottis Castle St Augustine We found a lovely venue (well pictures look lovely, haven't toured it yet" that is a replica "castle" of one in Ireland. It holds about 50 people.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!!

Bestbridalprices.com has a guarantee that they will beat any legit price by 5%. They have my bridesmaid dresses for $168.30. I found it on House of Brides for $139 so I emailed Best Bridal Prices for a quote. They state that emails are answered in 24 hours or less. A week goes by and I hear nothing, so I email again. Finally, 10 days after the original email, I get a one sentence response telling me they'd beat the price, but I would not qualify for the free shipping they usually offer. A few hours later, I receive a response to the SECOND email from the sales manager, saying that I could get free shipping, but insisting that the price from House of Brides was $158.95, not $139. I emailed the link again and she still insisted that the price listed was $158.95 when in reality, that is the "YOU SAVE" amount. In the second email, she no longer signed it "Sales Manager" just "staff". I really feel like they just don't want to honor a price so much lower, but definitely don't feel confident ordering from a business that can't even follow a link or answer an email in an timely manner. Just needed to vent.

So.... last night my mom and I had a big phone convo about wedding details. Getting everything in order for the tasting at our venue, which was fine I got all that nailed down in about 24 hours between the families.

Then she starts on about the rehersal dinner, first saying that they feel bad my FILs are paying for the reception food (biggest part of the budget) and the rehersal. But really it was all because she had a major attitude about our rehersal dinner possibly being at the restuarant Mason and Jardin which is down the street from our church. It is slightly outdated but my mom thinks it looks terrible and will let anyone know who will give a second to listen. The place has good food and I told her what is the big deal it is one dinner, I don't care were we eat. She feels because my FI and his family wants the rehersal there that they are totally disregarding her feelings.

She was completely trying to guilt trip me and make me feel bad which I was like I am going to feel bad if you are upset through the whole rehersal dinner. Which she said "oh no she wouldn't show that then". I just told her that since it wasn't reserved yet that she should just suggest other places she likes then in an email since my FILs live in another city. That pacified her enough.

Then........ (yes I know crazy long this was like a two hour convo)

She started on how she doesn't get why my FMIL wants to spend money on a planner and how she doesn't feel there will be enough money for essential items (such as cake etc) but other than what my parents have committed to contributing to they don't know where extra money is coming from. I told my mom a planner will help keep all parties organized and on top of stuff plus will make it look nice, that my FMIL wasn't the only one who wanted it I do too since I live out of state now. They will help organize the vendors on the day which is what I am most concerned about. I don't want my family or myself doing that. But get this, she doesn't want me to tell my FMIL that we haven't planned who is paying for these other items for the wedding because she doesn't want them to offer to pay for it (again pride) yet my parents don't feel they have the reasources too. So that means it is left up to me, which I recently graduated college though self suffiant have to pay my own loans back and other personal aspects of the wedding like honeymoon. Also, get this, she made up a spread sheet with all the items and vendors for the wedding and colums with my name, FIs name, FIs family and my family and Xs under who pays for what. Great idea to keep organized but she doesn't want me to show my FMIL unless I tell my mom first that I am going to show it.

Ugh so much and it just makes me frustrated! It isn't like this is a huge affair it is a budget wedding. Makes me just want to go get my marriage liscenes tomorrow and just elope.

So my sister is hosting my bridal shower and she's in the process of moving from one set of apartments to another ( really, she's in a waiting process ) . We were going to have it at her apartment, but she isn't sure on the situtation of her moving status. SO, we are trying to find somewhere in Orlando to have a bridal shower that is inexpensive. Any ideas? TIA!

I am getting married in April 11 at noon at Holy Trinity. My colors are ivory, gold with red as accent color. What color should my groom wear, Black or Ivory with red assessories? Since its a noon wedding should he wear a suit or tux. My dress is pretty formal btw. I would appreciate any suggestions. Another question, do I really have to have chair covers. I know its the "in" thing to do but since its not an evening wedding Im wondering can I skip them. For some reason I don't really care for that look but open to other opinions.
