We played this on the day of the wedding towards the end of the night before the dancing so that our guests could see a highlight reel of the day. it was nice especially for those who couldn't make the ceremony.

Has anyone ever just been told that they were a bridesmaid in someone's wedding? I'm in 3 weddings within this year and 2 of them never really asked me to be bridesmaid...they just said "you're a bridesmaid!" Of course, I was thrilled because they are my good friends... But, I thought it was a little weird...kinda like being drafted haha. Anyways, one bride hasn't decided the state that the wedding is in and hasn't picked a date (it's fall next year if it's in CFL, winter next year if it's in another state). I don't know if I can really afford for me and my DH to take 4 days off work for rehearsal, wedding, and travel- in addition to affording plane tickets around the holidays, hotel, and the usual wedding expenses, but should I just not say anything until it's decided one way or the other? I don't want to back out, esp. since she was my BM but I when I was told, it was assumed it would be here. WWYD?

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando. Opinions!!

Hi guys, we have been looking around a bit more for a new ceremony/reception location since the Omni fell through and so far we like the look of the Hyatt Regency. I have been in touch with the events coordinator and she seems really helpful so far.

I'm just wondering if anyone has stayed at this hotel as a regular guest/wedding guest or even better as a bride and what were your opinions?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

The wedding was so perfect. More perfect than I could have imagined and I had really high expectations. We had the Mary Queen of the Universe Choir at our ceremony and they were so wonderful. The music was perfect and made the ceremony so special. The reception room looked stunningly amazing with the uplighting and the gorgeous centerpieces. Also, our DOC, Ashlie, added a lot of little decorative touches that were nice. We got to see the room before everyone else and the DJ (Jay Edwards) played our first dance for us by ourselves. It was so romantic. The Portofino Bay was gorgeous and we got some incredible pictures there.The food was phenomenal. Everyone kept talking about how cool the presentation was and how good the food was. We had a signature drink that was an edible hibiscus flower with hibiscus syrup in champagne and everyone kept saying how good it was. We danced the entire night and had a blast. I was wearing a gigantic poofy dress and I was worried about going to the bathroom in it but I never had to go from the moment I put it on. So, basically, I never left the dance floor the whole night. At the end, everyone gathered around us really close and we all sang "Don't stop believin" and then they all came out in the hallway and cheered us as we left. It was fabulous. People kept telling me it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that everything about it was perfect. That's how I felt about the day too.

When we got back to our room at the Portofino, they surprised us with rose petals sprinkled everywhere with a heart on the bed and candles and they left two plates of chocolate covered strawberries in our room plus a chocolate gondola filled with fruit and more decorative chocolate and then we had three bottles of champagne from them too plus they put flower petals and bubble bath in the tub and they gave us a CD of romantic Italian music and opera.

As soon as I get my CD from the photographer, I'll be posting pictures for you all to see. We just got back from the honeymoon yesterday so vendor reviews will come when I get a chance.

I am looking for a low cost catering company who will include all linens (maybe even chair covers) without the alcohol between $15 to $25 per person for a buffet style dinner. I am trying to plan a destination wedding in Orlando for this March 2011. But I have no idea of the reputation of local vendors. I would like to have intimate ceremony of 20 guests and dinner at the Cinderella castle in Disney. I was looking at two possible venues for the ceremony- Paradise Cove or Estate at Cypress grove Park. Can anyone refer me to a wedding planner? I have a propsal from Weddings Inc, they seem very nice but I am unable to find any reviews on this company. Any insight/advice would be great!

So a few weeks ago, I saw SY2TD would be starting a spinoff in ATL. Well after the announcement I went online and looked up Brides by Lori (the new site). On a whim I decided to fill out the "be on the show" app, never thinking for once I'd get a call back about it. To my surprise today I got a call and invite to come in for a fitting (and possible taping). I mean I was speechless for a minute because I almost didn't answer the call. On top of that I didn't realize it was them until a few minutes passed. I guess they liked our story and hopefully I'll be able to get up to ATL soon for a fitting. The consultant I spoke to did say that they hadn't started taping the 2nd season so it could either possibly be for the initial dress shopping or follow up fitting. Either way I am EXCITED (and surprised)!!

Finally finished our Save the Dates! I have about 4 addresses I am waiting on, but I managed to text, FB and use whitepages.com to get most of the missing addresses. My family refers to our wedding as a Destination Wedding since out of 215 only about 50 people are local.
Check them out! Sorry I am too lazy to add them to my bio right now!

I used a airplane scrapbook paper to make Envelope Liners, and made wrap around labels.

Front with the wrap around label and the stamp I had custom made. It is a bride flying and airplane dragging a groom and a banner that says Save the Date (btw it is for sale if anyone wants it)

The boarding pass holder. I designed the monogram and had it made into a stamp on etsy. Then I stamped and embossed them all.

And finally the actual Save the Date! I attached magnets strips to the back.

Aisle Runner DONE!

So my big project for the weekend was to finish my Aisle Runner. Bought all of the supplies on Friday, painted the K on Saturday and finished it this morning!

I'm so proud of myself!!

By the way, the darker white parts are the paper underneath keeping the paint from bleeding through to my table.

Write in Style in Altamonte?

Hello,

Has anyone used "Write in Style" in Altamonte before for their wedding invitations? If so, how was your experience? Did you find them to be very expensive or reasonable? Price range? I'm having a hard time finding the right invitations online that also doesn't cost an arm and a leg and considering going to Write in Style. I don't really want to waste my time going there only to find out that it is much more expensive than orderling online. I don't have a HUGE budget for invitations.

I've pretty much decided DIY is just not going to work for me because 1) I'm not that crafty 2) The DIY kits I've seen were not that nice and the paper always felt cheapish and 3) I have a very old printer that will not be sufficient for printing wedding invitations but refuse to buy a new printer because this one pretty much meets my general needs.

I've also researched just about all the main and reasonable invitation websites out there including 123print, VistaPrint, AmericanWedding, ExclusivelyWeddings, MagnetStreet (found some things on here that might work), InvitationsByDawn, InvitationsConsultants, DavidsBridal and the list goes on.

HOLY CRAP girls! What an amazing time I had!

In a nutshell- everything went perfect! There was not one dent in my day, everything was on time and fabulous!

Couple of highlights?

We had a former Orlando Magic player, Anthony Bowie, make an appearance at the wedding. COMPLETE surprise to me and Mark, and it was like a "gift" from our DJ! The DJ (Jay Edwards) also had a couple of Magic personalities "phone in" to wish us a happy wedding day!

Stuff, the mascot, interrupted the first dance, and he was a RIOT at the wedding! Absolutely amazing, and that couldn't have gone any better! It was so awesome!

We had the BEST cake smash in the entire world. Uh, well. Mark gave me the best cake smash! I had so much cake on my face that I couldn't see to smash him good! LOL

And, to end the evening, I jumped in the pool. In my dress. Dude- BEST. FEELING.EVER! It was like a sauna under that dress! My photographer and videographer had a BLAST and were like cute little kids in a candy shop when I told them I'd do it! Oh, and DH jumped in with me! It was so much fun!

We leave today for our honeymoon- but I'll have lots more to share when we get back!!

Thank you girls for all of the advice, fun times, and craziness that has happened over my year and a half of planning! You know I'll be sticking around! I like you girls a little too much!
