Thing is, ...we're having our small-ish ceremony on the front patio there and reception inside and were trying to figure out if there would be enough chairs to have both set up at the same time (without having to be like...time out! ceremony is over, lets move these chairs inside!!!...blegh) Kidding, we'd rent some ceremony chairs if we have to. =P

TIA!

I'm having a hard time matching table linen colors to my bridesmaid's dresses. Our colors are navy blue, lavender, silver and gold. Navy blue is my primary color, lavender flowers, and silver and gold as my accents. The linens and dresses are both going to be the navy blue; however, matching them has proved to be a very difficult task.

The dresses are David's Bridal Marine color, and I know some linen companies actually sell David's Bridal's colors for their linen. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced companies that do that in the Orlando/Tampa area? Or should I not care and just try to match the best I can?

The marine color is a dark blue, but most of the navy blue linen I've compared it to has much more "black" in it if that makes sense. The marine color is a much richer blue than it is black. This is driving me nuts since it's about the last thing I need to get. I wish David's Bridal had an even darker blue, but Marine is the closest I can get without having to totally re-vamp everything for the girls (which, I don't want to do). Thanks for the help/advice!

I was really surprised . But anyways I can't remember if I saw it on theknot , yahoo or on a different site . There was a seating chart thing. You could add the table , dj table, etc and all. You could place them on this grid type room . The one i remember you could add the guest names to the table they were sitting at . ( I don't need that but that's what I remember). Does anyone know of what I am talking about or something close.

Thanks in Advance.

After going around and around with my budget and getting scared that my parents won't be able to follow through with the money they said they'd give us, I decided to explore less traditional food options. I thought about dessert only, but wasn't able to get much concrete info, more of just a "we can discuss prices". Then, I saw that some of the caterers offer BBQ menus for WAY less and this is more FI and I's style anyway. I emailed Puff 'n Stuff, Levan's and River City about their BBQ menus. Most start at about $12-14, so I was super stoked. Granted, I know it will be more with linens and real plates, etc. Anyway, I got kind of excited about Levan's because they will bring a smoker and cook onsite and their menus were $12pp and $13pp. Duane emailed me a quote that included linens, china, and servers of $26pp. WTF?? It costs MORE than the food for linens and servers? And, I got a full menu quote from them that included 4 hor d'ouevres for $29pp. River City's menus that included linens and china were $22-26pp. Needless to say, we're still going to set up tastings with all of them. Anyone have an idea of standard break downs for this stuff (I think John Michael's charges $3pp for upgraded linen/china)? How much can I really bargain? Can I say "Other Catering Company is offering us all of this for $XX, can you match it?" Should I just chill out til we've met with everyone? I'm just so frustrated.

So...my best friend and one of my bridesmaids is unable to be in the wedding party due to an unforseen circumstance. I love and support her no matter what, but that will drop my side down to two bridesmaids and three groomsmen on FI's side. This happens, right? Where it's not even? Have any of you had uneven sides or been to a wedding that's uneven? I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but it's not really going to bother me too much. We're having a small 55-person wedding with a 2 on 3 wedding party (was 3 on 3) I don't want to ask anyone to take her spot because I think the"replacement" person would feel like a "back-up" and I certaintly don't want that. Plus, I'd sort of like to leave her spot open because I know she is heartbroken she can't be there anymore.

This goes to show though, that no matter how much planning you do, you have to remain flexible because you never know what can happen. That's life.

In the end, all I care about is marrying my high school sweetheart :) Cheers!

So I thought my wedding was going to be at 5:00 (Cocoa Beach Valentines Day) so I could get the colors of the sunset but I just talked to the reception venue and they said that I will run out of light. So I called the ceremony vendor and she said "oh no, there will be no light for pics. Roughly 4). I'm starting to panic so i checked the internet for sunset times and it looks like sunset will be 6:15. If I start at 4 and I am done with pics at about 5:30 do you ladies think I will get some of the colors of the sunset??

Neither FI or I are very religious. I grew up Baptist and he is Buddhist, but neither of us practice. One of my good friend's dad is a lawyer and I asked if he was a notary or JOP that would be qualified to marry us. He offered to get his notary license so he could do it. He's funny and obviously used to speaking in front of groups and I've known him about 10 years, although FI has never met him. We will probably have a very basic ceremony, no unity candles, no sand ceremony, maybe one poetry reading. Should I tell him yes (and offer to pay for it which is about $75, which he'd probably refuse) or just go with someone we've never met but has more experience?
