We are looking to get married next March and are going to have the ceremony at our church. The church is at Fermosa and Par Street. However, we cant seem to find place to have the reception!! We don't want everyone to have to drive very far so something close to Winter Park/Downtown. We are looking for something that is indoors or has the option of both, indoor and outdoor. Both our Dads don't like heat and we cant predict the weather (hot/cold) so we want people to be able to go inside if it is hot. Most places we have looked at seem really expensive when you use their caterers. We are trying to get a base head count for budget ideas.

I am just starting to plan so any help is needed!

Thanks:)

Hi Ladies!

I've been posting more and more on the west coast board because most of my vendors will be in Tampa, BUT I wanted to throw out a few photographers that are extremely talented, but very reasonably priced. I'm using both of these girls for my wedding photographers, and I used one of them already for my e-pics. If you'd like more info. or want to see pictures see below:

Sivan Photography: www.sivanphotography.com

Katie Crabb Photography :http://www.wix.com/jesusroxs/Kt-Crabb-Photography
and http://www.ktcrabbphotography.com/blog/

I used Sivan Photography for my e-pics so check out my bio if you'd like to see the pics by her! I'll be adding Katie Crabb on the wedding day. They both do e-pics and wedding pics. I highly recommend them!

Hope this helps any :)

I have to say that the wedding was even better than I expected! The weather as so nice, and everything went smoothly.

I will have complete reviews later.

Ashlie Hampton: I am so glad we hired her as our day of coordinator. She was a life saver! She is amazaing!

Lee was awesome He brought my vision to life and exceeded my expectations. He even came up to my room before the wedding to say Hi.

Bryan from Tagas did a great job as MC and DJ. He followed my play lists, took guest requests, and did some great mixes. Everyone commented how much fun they had.

Puff catered and did the cake-Again, everyone raved about the food and cake. I didn't get to try it, but I heard that the chocolate layer with chocolate mint crunch filling was to die for.
They also did a Boston Red Sox hat as for the groom's cake that was awesome!!

Joey Wright was my photographer. I know him from mutual friends, and he is breaking into the wedding photography. We had a blast working with him and his assistant. He was with us all day, and his prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to see pics!
www.joeywrightphotography.com

Patricia LeJeune- She did a fantastic job on our hair and make up. She is also one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She is worth every penny!!! I had so many people tell me how great I looked, and I truly felt like a princess. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!

If you have any questions, feel free to page me!

Thanks again for all your help and input during planning!

THIS GUEST LIST IS A NIGHTMARE!! FI and I requested guest list friends from both our parents back in MAY! We've already sent save the dates and I have ordered the favors and invites. We made our list and estimated how much we could invite partially based on the number of ppl we knew weren't going to show up (such as dad's coworkers from up north). EACH ONE of our parents (except for wonderful FFIL) has asked to add people after we have already sent out STDs. My mother keeps saying "it's just one more person, it's just one more person" but it freaking adds up. FMIL has decided that she wants to invite her BFFs who she has been "so close with for years", except they weren't invited 10 months ago or whatever. If they were so close, why am I just hearing about them? My dad had a coworker and his wife say they couldn't come, so now my dad wants to swap them out for some other people I have never heard of. I still have to send people who say they can't come an invite and they've already been ordered and are on their way.

FI isn't inviting any coworkers and I'm not inviting all of mine, but yet my dad is making me invite every single person he has ever met, including ALL of his coworkers. It's not even about the $ anymore- the venue can only hold so much space and no one is listening! I keep trying to put my foot down but at some point, I'm sick of being the bad guy and becoming a "bridezilla" but my mean side is ready to tell them that they can address, stamp, and stuff the invites, tie the favors themselves for these extra people and THEY can handle the mess that will be my wedding when we are over capacity because at that point I'LL BE MARRIED and I won't care!!!!!

ok, vent done. Thanks.

I previously posted a negative review of this photographer, after experiencing a number of problems with her. The review came to her attention and she contacted me recently to discuss the issues I wrote about. She asked me to consider removing the review. After some thought, I decided to rewrite the review to include her responses to be fair to her.
Basically, my complaints were that we had a very difficult time communicating with her, and the information she gave us about expected timelines was inaccurate.
She did listen to what I had to say, and seemed to genuinely want to improve her customer service, so I hope that things will change for the better. Also, she did give us several large prints and a parent's wedding album free of charge as an apology for the trouble we had, which was quite generous. I hope that she is able to use this experience to improve her business in the future.

I thought I wasn't going to have much of a problem with RSVPs bc my sister got married in Feb 2009 so I had learned from the drama she went through. Well, I guess I was wrong! One of my brothers does not really talk to me. He didn't go to my sister's wedding and didn't even tell her he wasn't coming or why or not even say Congratulations. I decided to not even bother, so I didn't invite him. I talked to my mom yesterday and she said he wants to go. I'm so confused! I'm glad he wants to come, but I don't understand what's going on. Then my older brother: I sent him an invite for him and one other person. His wife said she and their daughter want to come. What about my brother (who also happens to be my godfather)? His wife is such an idiot and I don't like her. I don't consider her my sister, not since she wanted to get a divorce... And now she wants to come to my wedding? Ok, rant over. Thanks for reading!

So I was at Ross today & found the CUTEST (I think so anyway, lol) ideas for centerpieces. They are wrought iron bicycle planters. Each one is a little different which I love too. Our budget is pretty small, so we were trying to find cute centerpieces we could do without breaking the bank with fresh flowers & I think we found it! They were very inexpensive & now all we'll need is something to fill them with & some candle to accent the table. I think they're a cute "touch of spring" for a March wedding (technically Winter... but living in Florida it's Spring to me lol) I mocked it up with some fake crap we have at home, I like the draped look but not the plants themselves. Anyway, I know I'm a LONG way out, but I'm trying to buy things as I find them so I don't have a huge bill all at once come closer to wedding day. Let me know what you think! :) (Even if you think they're horribly tacky... I still have receipts if it is unanimous this is a TERRIBLY TACKY idea. haha)

Now that we have booked our venue, we are scoping out caterers and looking at menus and budgets. We are considering Levan's, John Michael's, Puff 'n Stuff, and Cuisiners. So far, everyone except Puff 'n Stuff has been pretty slow getting back to us. Mary from Puff 'n Stuff actually contacted me before I got a chance to email her and she remembered which venues that I was considering from when I met her at the PWG Bridal Show. This gets them brownie points automatically, but their alcohol set up fees are SOOOO much more than everyone else's. John Michaels still has yet to contact me with the info I requested. Anyone have any input/reviews of any caterers in this group? Can I do any bargaining when we go for tastings, like "so and so company is offering us full bar setup for $4 a person, can you match that?" I've just been kind of frustrated by the lack of communication from the whole group (except Puff 'n Stuff) so far. I mean, almost two weeks to send an email with basic info in it? Thanks for the help!

Less than 2/3 of our guest list is actually coming. *sigh* It's a relief for the budget, but I'm still kinda bummed that more of our friends weren't able to make it. I know it's too late to invite more people but the thought crossed my mind. ;)

You girls should crash it! LOL

I'm thisclose to booking Meghann Davis for make-up because I think she is so sweet (plus, I've heard great things and I love what I've seen so far with her profile.) I'd like to get an idea of how much she charges first from other knotties who have used her or have spoken to her. Anyone care to share? Her prices are not online so I wanted to see what her range is. Also, any other thoughts would be great! Thanks in advance :)

I've tried contacting Patricia, but she is booked on my date and so is Studio Cara :-/ She's my last hope. I guess 2-27-11 will be a popular date lol
