Hi All,

I am planning to get married in Spring 2013. My fiance and I want to get married in St. Augustine. We plan on getting married on the beach and take pictures in Flager College as well as other historical places in downtown St. Augustine. We need ideas about having a great wedding on a budget (around $5000). Our family members will be providing a typical Caribbean buffet and will help with decorating. We need some suggestions for affordable and lovely party rooms or halls for about 100 people as well as some suggestions for photographers. I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Hi ladies,

My hubby and I were married in May 2008 but are thinking about a vow renewal for our 5th anniversary next year. We've had a rough couple of years and have grown, so we hope to re-commit ourselves as a result.

I spent every summer in St. Augustine as a kid and would like to have our renewal there. Actually I wanted to get married there, but that's another story. Lol.

We're just in the very preliminary stages of planning, but I love the Loft at the White Room and think we may be able to swing it since there will be no more than 50 guests. I noticed that a few of you ladies had your weddings there and I would like to know what your experiences were. They seem to be very highly rated from what I have read.

Out of curiosity, do they charge to rent the facility? I know that they charge for a ceremony but from the website's language, it appears that everything is included with the catering contract? I noticed a few people say that it's expensive, so including the facility, dishes, tables, chairs, etc seems to good to be true!

I would appreciate any thoughts. Also, if you have any other suggestions for ceremony/reception locations, I'm open to them. I do love the Lightner Museum! If you could throw in the cost of rental, etc. with any suggestions, that would be fabulous.

Honeymoon in St. Augustine - Hotels?

The FI and I are getting married May 2013 and would like to honeymoon in St. Augustine. We'll be driving down from West Virginia on a Monday and plan to leave the following Saturday, for a total of 4 days / 5 nights. We're wanting something in St. Augustine Beach that's oceanfront AND affordable ($150 or less per night). I've looked at the hotels listed on TripAdvisor and am favoring The Beacher's Lodge but am curious what else is out there. Any suggestions?

Transportation - help!

We are getting married at Bentley's on the Bay in April 2013 and we will probably be staying at the Embassy Suites in Destin - which does not provide shuttle service :( Does anybody know of any transportation that is not too expensive that can accommodate 50 people - most likely it will be 2 or 3 trips. Or know of any surrounding nice hotels that provide shuttle service? I'm from Chicago, so I am not familiar with the area. Thanks for the help!

Bad/Good Idea? Dancing part of July wedding reception outside at night...

We are having our wedding/reception at The White Room Rooftop on July 12, 2013. The ceremony is set for about an hour before sunset, then cocktail hour and dinner inside. I really want to have the dancing part of the reception back outside on the rooftop to dance the night away under the stars and twinkle lights. We do live in FL and it will of course be hot and humid, but it will be night next to the water/bay...if we rent a fan and we are doing program fans, do you think doing the dancing part of the reception outside is a bad idea for FL weather? Thanks for your help!

Hey Ladies! Our bid day is quickly approaching and I have yet to find someone who will come to our venue to do my hair and make up without requiring at least 3 others get their's done...

We are coming from all over the country for this wedding and I really do not want my bridesmaids to have to pay for anything else (since they have already traveled so far), but would like them to have the option IF they wanted.

We have just recently booked our wedding and reception to be at The White Room in St. Augustine FL on July 12, 2013. I really want to have the dancing part of the reception outside on the rooftop under the stars and the nice lights they can hang, bad idea? We are planning on doing fans for our program and I could also do the personalized water bottle idea to keep guests cool if its hot, or should I keep the reception inside in the air conditioning???

RSVPs, Anxiety and Bridal Blues

We planned on having a small wedding with somewhere around 75-85 guests. This is what we budgeted for. This is what we both agreed we wanted to enjoy the evening with an intimate group of friends and family. We sent out quite a few more invitations than that, including people we knew could not attend more out of courtesy than anything else. You know what I mean. With an RSVP date of 4/2, we have 65 confirmed guests, so I guess that means we're right on track, right? But here I am stressed and worried about those that have not RSVP'd yet, and why haven't they? And I find myself wondering if people are going to show up. I am seriously having a bit of an anxiety attack about our final head count NOT BEING HIGH ENOUGH. A few people that I asssumed would be there are unable to attend due to a prior engagement and I'm so disappointed. Maybe I'm just being selfish. I find myself thinking maybe people don't want to come sinc they have not sent in their RSVP. :-(

Am I crazy?!? Is this normal anxiety / bridal blues? We have less than 6 weeks to go and I feel so stressed... Ugh.
