My loss is your gain!

I recently purchased a gift card for engagement pictures and an 8 x 10 print for Dina Ivory Photography in Tallahassee. The package retails for $400, but now we no longer need engagement pictures, so I'm selling the gift card for $200. Half the price of the package for an awarded photographer in Tallahassee!! Even better, the gift card can be used for pictures on her farm, which is a beautiful spread of property that would look amazing in engagement pictures.

It's an actual gift card, not just an appointment time, so I can send you a picture of the gift card if you're interested. It can be used until September 2012, so you have quite awhile to use it. Also, even if you're not getting engaged, it can be used for any photography session, so you can use it for kids, family photos, etc.

Email me if you're interested!! lmc09d@my.fsu.edu

Lindsay

Hello everyone (again!)

I'm planning my June 2013 wedding at Bentleys on the Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. At this venue, I am required to have a day of wedding coordinator (which is $875). I'm wondering if I should pay the extra money and hire the full service wedding coordinator ($2450).
Do you ladies have an opinion (positive or negative) about full service coordinators? We are planning our wedding from Cincinnati, OH.

Also, I would like to give my guests options on where to stay in the Seaside, FL area so I don't want to rent a group of cottages or condos. I'd like everyone to pick their place based upon their own budget so more people can come to the wedding. Would it be easier for me to do my own research and put some websites (such as www.vbro.com, etc) on my wedding website, or contact a travel agent for my guests to work with?

Thank you all so much!!

Hello everyone.

My June 2013 wedding will take place at Bentleys on the Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Since the venue is bayside, I'd like my guests (and myself!) to stay on the gulf side around Seaside for the days leading up to the wedding.

I do not want to reserve a group of condos or cottages since I do not know everyones budgets for their accommodations. I'd like to give my guests the option to rent a house, cottage, condo, etc based upon their own budget. We are expecting around 100 people to make the trip from Indiana/Ohio for the occasion.

I plan on making a list on our wedding website, but what would be the best way to go about recommending places to stay for our guests?

Should I find a travel agent and direct them that way, or find venues on my own and list on the website?

Thank you for all your recommendations!!

So I had a block of rooms for my guests booked at the Holiday Inn on the beach in Destin for my 10/13/12 wedding. Did this months ago. Me and my fiance even booked our room here(we live in AZ). Just got a phone call today from Holiday Inn saying that my block and my reservations are being cancelled because half the hotel is being demolished for renovations starting in September. Luckily we are not having our wedding here like the 3 other brides I was told were gonna be shortly getting a phone call saying they had to find another venue/reception site.

So now I need to find another hotel. One that isn't too crazy expensive, close to the beach(there are actually not many hotels directly on the beach here) and not too far from my wedding venue(Henderson Beach Park). Any suggestions? Anyone familiar with the Embassy Suites in Destin?(this was one of the suggestions the woman from Holiday Inn gave me).
The prices are great too - very reasonable for an awesome place and great food and service.

Photographers - Ivey Pictures - Krissy & Chad are great! Very friendly. I cannot wait to get my pictures back from them. You get two photographers for the price of one and their work is great.

Florist - Bold Blooms - Valerie is awesome! The flowers all turned out beautifully and the prices are unbeatable!

DJ Thundercat - Dan was awesome! He was a blast and had a couple suprises for us that were tons of fun. I highly recommend him we danced all night long!

Cake - Publix on Marsh Landing Parkway - I had a little bit of a hard time with them telling me that they would put things on the cake but then saying they wouldn't, in the end the manager agreed to put silk flowers on my cake. It looked beautiful and tasted amazing. They also have the best prices.

Makeup & Hair - Erin @ Salon San Marco - Erin is great. She did all 5 of my girls and my hair in record time! All of our hair looked great all night. Love her!

I just got my daughters grooms cake from the publixs in Millhopper and it was awsome the artist that did the cake Sonja was excelent the cake was perfect. there was nothing left of it at the wedding. I would us her and publix every time.

Just a word of advice to anyone that is thinking of using Dream day cakes ""DONT" What you have at the tasting is not what you get.
they are rude they tried to blame there incompetence on us that they mixed up our delivery time with some one elses. He yelled and spoke to use in a very rude manner to use on the phone. once they deliverd the cake to use 2 1/2 hours late they did not complete the cake and just left it the topper was not arranged on the cake as requested Thanks to the staff form the "Gainesville Golf and Country Club" Chef came to the rescue and were able to complete. as for the cake it was horrible. it tasted as though it had been frozen for a month it was dry tasteless and the filling tasted like it was a stick of butter just spread in between the layers. It was like having a mouth full of sawdust. If I would not have had my daughters wedding in an hour I would have thrown them out along with the cake. They were the only bad part of the of the day. I would never recomend them to anyone I would encourage them to stear clear. At the tasting the samples of cake are not what you get in the cake. Had it not been for the Publix Grooms cake we would not have had any cake that tasted good.

Hey everyone! so here's my dilemma. My FI and I have been planning to get married for such a long time (since november of 08!), however recently I became very very ill and we had to tap into the wedding savings account to pay for my medical bills. It brought us a lot closer, and has really ignited a fire in us to just do get married. We've spoken about eloping, but I felt it was unfair to him, seeing as he wants his family to be there (my parents are dead and I don't have family that I REALLY keep in contact with other than my brother). So, basically, we have to start over, but really want to have the wedding on October 7 of 2012 for sentimental reasons. We are both very laid-back and simple people. We love the thought of a beach or beachy themed wedding, but of course, that's only if our budget permits. My question to all of you beautiful brides, brides to be, and wives, is how can I get a nice wedding on a TIGHT budget.

We are willing to cut down our guestlist to about 30 to 40 people, but it still seems that the prices in my area (Jacksonville, FL) are a bit high. Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you so much!!

(PS will be willing to have our wedding in any of the surrounding areas, like st augustine and even orlando)

Hello Knotties!

So, having scouted a few places for prices (and almost booking one before I figured out taxes - yikes!), I know St. Augustine is pricey for weddings. However, the city is very important to my FH and I, and we are determined to make our special day happen there. Is there any advice I can glean from anyone about affordable ceremony/reception combo venues, or a recommendation of vendors who will work with a budget? Thanks in advance!

If you could recommend photographers with affordable packages (under $2,000); fabulous and affordable florists; great bakeries (around $4 per serving); and amazing and affordable DJs (around $800)- I would really appreciate it! Also ceremony musicians :)
Thanks!

I am planning my wedding on Pensacola Beach this summer. We rented this beautiful hom at 902 Ariola (if anyone has ever been to this home). I have been told alot of people have had weddings here. If you have, I would love to hear your experience with it. I currently live 16 hours away from Pensacola so everything that I am planning is from afar! I have the caterer and the decorater already planned. I am missing one very important peice though and that is the photographer. I do not want a very elaborate wedding collection. There is only going to be 40 people there but I did want some good pictures of my husband and I and our 2 year old son. I do not want the cost to be outrageous. I have read several posts on here and wanted to faint when I read $1000+ for a photographer! Really??!! Is that the rate?? anyways, any tipes would be appreciated! We moved away from Pensacola about a year ago so I do not know who is in and who does good work in that area. Thanks!!
