i am spoiled i want to be treated right. i've only been to one shop so far, and they have my DREAM DRESS, but I'm not going to buy it until I've been to a few more shops, and I am SURE in MY OWN MIND that it's THE ONE. Can you recommend a salon or two that you went to and they treated you like u felt you should be treated. I mean most of us a probably spending a couple hundred to more than a 1,000 on a dress and i don't want to feel like i'm on an assembly line (warning i was given about david's bridal) I've already been to Bridal Shop at the Avenues. I've talked my self out of going to White Magnolia because their website says their cheapest dress is 1500, and if that's the case, i'd just go back and buy my dream dress, without trying on another single dress. PLEASE HELP.

So the plan was for my future aunt to perform the ceremony but she has decided that it is too risky for her. She works in a Catholic Parish and was informed she could lose her job and her pension if her parish finds out she is an ordained minister. Because of some family BS she is worried that someone would bring attention to the fact that she has performed our ceremony. So now 40 days out I'm looking for a new officiant. Fortunately I know a few notarys. Fixable situation but extremely stressful...

Any one have recommendations?

I love Destin. Have been going to Destin for vacations with my family for many years. I would love to get married on the beach, but am trying to compromise w/ the fiance.
I am looking for a Catholic Church in Destin/panhandle area that will marry us, prefer near the beach so that I can still have our pictures on the beach. Will only have our parents, siblings, & maid of honor at the ceremony and having a larger party when we get back home (ohio). Hoping this is possible!!!
Does anyone know of Catholic Churches that would marry us?

Does anyone have any experience with any shoe places who dye shoes? I bought my shoes from shoebuy.com, but all the reputable shoe stores will only dye shoes that were purchased through them. Garrisons on San Jose has the worst reviews I've ever seen, so I'm not trusting them. Has anyone had any experience getting their shoes dyed in the Jacksonville area?

Jacksonville area bakeries - any thoughts?

Hey gals,

I promise I looked through several pages and searched "bakeries" but had little luck.

Anyone heard of, or more importantly, used Choux Designer Cakes and Pastries? Website looks good, available pics of cakes look great.

As an aside, anyone recommend any other Jacksonville-area bakeries? I don't like to "shop around", but I want a tasty cake... :)

I know Publix is awesome, and am not discounting them. We are undecided if we want two "grooms" cakes or if we want a tiered cake funly decorated.

Hey ladies. I am in the process of planning my wedding for June 2nd in Santa Rosa Beach. I am planning from Texas which makes the process a little difficult. The last 2 major tasks I have are to find an officiant and a DJ. Any suggestions? It seems like every DJ I have found so far does not play for very many hours or does not provide sound equipment for the ceremony on the beach. Also, a lot of the officiants I have found so far seem a little cheesy which I am not really looking for. Any help/ideas/suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance! :)

Went in to book our date for an Up-down at the White Room and they already had an event booked for the up part, now all my plans are thrown (not that anything was set in stone, I just kinda pictured it there in my head). Sooooo I need new ideas for a cheap ceremony. I really can't afford something too expensive and our potential date (we havent booked now because we want to have an idea of a ceremony site first) is in July so its going to be hottttt. Any one know of cheap ceremony places within a reasonable distance to the White Room?

Or maybe I should just scrap that altogether, anyone know of a reasonably priced place that is beautiful classic downtown St. Augustine that can hold 125 for ceremony and reception? (key word BUDGET)

Some background: I've been going to the same lady for over 3 years for my cuts and highlights, which is a little bit longer than me and FI have been together so she's been there through the whole relationship.

We've been talking about my wedding for awhile, she quoted me $45 for makeup (airbrush) and $95 for hair, which I absolutely have no problem spending the money on myself on my wedding day,

My question: I was wondering if that is too much to ask of my bridesmaids (there are 5), and before I am attacked, its the norm in my circle to pay for your own hair, etc. She will be traveling to us (st. augustine from Jax) and said if all 5 girls get it done mine would be free, so I would even be willing to pay what I would have and split the remaining total up among the girls but that will still be around $110 each.

How much is too much for hair & makeup if you are a braidsmaid, in your opinion.

We are not getting married in a church and neither of us wants anything religious. all the officiants i seem to find are wearing robes like priests. I don't want anyone like that. FI and I want a very intimate wedding, and we have tiny families so it'll be around 20-25 guests. I'd love something outdoors, kind of quirky but also elegant. We're thinking of Sept-Oct of 2012. I'd love a spring wedding in April 2012 but FI has major allergies and says no- boo! =)

Any suggestions on where to start looking for venues? We haven't set a budget yet but I'm a librarian and he's in graduate school so we don't have much to play with. I saw Sweetwater Branch Inn in Gainesville- that looks nice. Any experience with them on this board?

My family and I are an a tight budget. I'm not sure how small, but I'm going to guess less than $10k. We are in Indianapolis, and my fiance and I would love to have our wedding beach side in North Florida (Destin, Seaside area). What are some right priced destination wedding packages? I keep finding packages online, but they don't look legit, or worth the $3k they want. I would like something all inclusive--reception, food, decor, flowers, everything. Any answers are very helpful, thank you in advance.

Okay girls I need your help. My cousin who is in my bridal party just told me today that she has a long purple dress that she wore to a Wedding. She said it was a Vera Wang. Now we know that is going to cost a lot so I figured, since I am having so much trouble finding a bridesmaid dress that I really want to use, what if I had the girls wear a long halter dress in dark purple just like my cousins but if the others a wee bit different.
