Reception Food Help Please!

So, we are getting married June 14, 2014. We are planning on have our wedding at 2 and then a reception to follow. We will have 100 guests. We don't really want to do a full on meal. We were thinking things like finger sandwiches, vegetables and dip, fruit and dip, meat & cheese tray, or a summer sausage & cheese tray. Of course cake, and probably some different cookies/pastries/eclair type things and sweet tea, water, lemonade, soda, and some alcohol. Are these types of food acceptable for an afternoon wedding? Also can someone tell me how many servings of each I would need for 100 guests? Thank you in advance.

If any brides and grooms are passing through Tallahassee at some point, go to Clusters and Hops for lunch. (No, I don't work for them, am not affiliated, this is just a friendly tip/rave about the food). They're not open every day, but it's a fantastic little restaurant at the back of a gourmet cheese and wine shop. I had the truffle white macaroni and cheese for lunch today, and it was totally worth the extra hour I'll have to put in on the elliptical. Smooth, creamy, rich, and fantastic!! I'm still salivating over it!!

HELP!

My FI and I have been searching the entire web to get the perfect NE FL beach wedding location for what fits our needs and budget. We want to have a private outdoor wedding ceremony on gorgeous green lawn that overlooks the beautiful ocean. We also want to have an indoor reception to accommodate our guests. Our budget is $5,000 total. Our guest list is 80 people. We are doing self-catering from cooking to baking and mostly everything will be DIY from invitations to centerpieces. We also want to BYOB (beer, wine, and a signature drink). Our theme is beach-themed. We are still on the search for an affordable photographer and DJ. Our main issue for right now is finding the right location that can accommodate our guest list, but mainly our budget. Affordable is what we are looking for! Our wedding will take place on a Saturday(I know that Saturdays seem to be the perfect day for a wedding... We just happen to get lucky because after we chose our date, we found out that it falls on a Saturday :) I also read that it's also the most expensive day to get married). I feel like I am so far behind on planning! Does anyone have reccommendations on an affordable venue off in NE FL? We would like to have it at one venue, in that way, our guests do not have to travel in between.

Elopement to St. Augustine

Hey guys, long story short: Planning a "real" wedding wasn't in my fiance's and my budget. So we're looking at doing an elopement or courthouse wedding either here in Orlando where we're located, or in St. Augustine. Here are my questions:

Has anyone been married in the St. Augustine courthouse? Is it first come, first serve (after the three day waiting period, obviously)? From the pictures I've seen on the interwebs, it looks pretty nice, but I'd like to hear from some people who have seen it/used it for themselves :)

Do you have any bed and breakfasts you'd recommend? We're looking at about 15 to 20 people "eloping" with us. It would be nice to be able to have the ceremony in the same place, but not necessary. Also, relatively inexpensive if possible. Less than 2k.

Barn for Rustic Spring Wedding

I am looking for a nice barn for a rustic spring wedding. So far in Florida, I have only found Cross Creek Ranch (http://www.crosscreekranchfl.com/index.htm) and Wadsworth Ranch (http://www.wadsworthranch.com/). I like the feel of the Cross Creek Ranch much more than the Wadsworth. I have contacted both places for more information, but I would love to have more options in Florida. All the other places I have found are in Georgia and North Carolina. I am open to a wedding anywhere in Florida, Georgria, South Carolina, or North Carolina, but since I live in Orlando a wedding in Florida would be much easier. If you know of a place, please post the link and let me know if you had any experience with them (service, catering, cost, etc.).

Also, if you have had a wedding or experience (service, catering, cost, etc.) with either Cross Creek Ranch or Wadsworth Ranch, I would love to hear about it. THANKS!!

Beach wedding risk or back up plan?

It looks like a lot of people have gotten married on the beach in St. Augustine. Did you have a back up plan or took the risk of rain? If you had a backup plan what was it?

Anyone know of inexpensive venues on the beach (or with beach in the background) that have back up plans for rain?

I'm in the beginning stages of planning my wedding. I'm trying to find an affordable venue where I can have the ceremony and reception. I prefer it to be outside, but as long as the place is beautiful it doesn't matter. There will be around 50 guests. I would like the entire wedding (venue, photos, catering, decorations etc.) to cost under $10,000, if possible. Any suggestions for venues in St. Augustine or even Jacksonville?

Hey Ladies,

So I have about 5 and a half months until we tie the knot in Saint Augustine! I already have several chosen and booked however there are a couple that I still can't decide on and need some help. Looking for any and all advice! Here is what I need.....

DJ - This would be for around 4 or 5 hours at the reception. Looking to stay under $800. I want someone who will get people up and dancing but not be obnoxious.

Photographer - We are looking for someone around $1,000. I know that is really low for a photographer however we are doing videographer and are spending a LOT on it. We are just looking for key photgraphers that we would want to frame and our families would want. Not as important on our list but nonetheless we still want someone that will do a good job.

Hair, make-up, and somewhere to get a mani/pedi - We are coming from out of state and coming in the week before so I want to do all of this there and am unaware of salons etc.

Any suggestions would be awesome!

I'm trying to get an idea of some venues to visit on my next trip to St. Aug. I've only been there for vacation (and for my engagement) and I absolutely love it. My fiance lived in Jacksonville for years and was in the Navy so St Aug means a lot to us but I just have no clue who I need to call or what would make a good venue.

We're wanting to do a beach wedding with the restaurant/reception area nearby. Hopefully with some sort of outdoor seating.

I am getting married in Santa Rosa Beach in June 2013. I am planning a trip down there in October to get hair/makeup trials and to talk to florists and bakeries. I am looking for three things:

1. Does anyone have any salons that they would recommend? I am not looking for anything over the top, just a very natural, beachy look.

2. Does anyone have any florists that they recommend?

3. Does anyone have any bakeries that they recommend?

It is hard to decide on these things since I live in St. Louis. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Destin Summer Beach House...HELP!!

I'm in need of a beach house rental in Destin where my family can stay next June for my wedding. We'd also like to have the rehearsal dinner there too (so a nice-size living area/outdoor area for entertaining would be great).

The trouble is that the strict Saturday-Saturday rental policy (during the peak summer season) is throwing a kink into my plans. Does anyone know of a house with more flexibility on check-in/out dates?

My husband and I eloped, but we are still planning on having our ceremony and reception as planned. We have finally settled on a venue, and booked Cooper Hall at Camp Blanding. It is beautiful with wood floors and exposed ceiling beams, on the lake with a beautiful pier, and a playground close by for fun photos! I'm so excited. Well, I was, until I read online that it is inproper to have a wedding ceremony and wear a white wedding gown when renewing vows. But we eloped, I didn't get to have a big wedding, and we're mostly only doing it for the family and friends that feel left out. So while it may not be proper, it's what the family wants, so it's what is happening. But I'm having trouble coming up with wording for the invites. Any help on anything would be great! Thanks!
