I'm going to need my dress taken in, shortened (as well as the train), with a sweetheart neckline and cups added. The dress I'm 95% sure I'm getting is from the Bridal Shop at the Avenues. I would take it to European Touch since I've used them before...but I heard that they don't press them. This dress is 100% Godavari silk. The bodice of the dress has a bunch of assymetrical pleats on it. The lady at the store said that w/the silk dresses they hand iron and press each individual pleat to get it to lay flat and smooth. Does anyone know of a seamstress that will do this to the dress... and that you would trust w/silk? I know the alterations will be expensive if I have the store do it...but I don't want to have it altered somewhere and then have it pressed somewhere else.

For those who don't know about siggy challenges: It's usually an aspect of your wedding such as your e-ring, centerpieces or maybe your dress. You add a pic to your signature and we (can) vote to see who has the best one. It's just a fun way to share little details of your wedding. Anyone have a good idea for a challenge? He said when people say there are seasons for flowers they are slightly wrong because he said last year he got tons of peonies and different flowers that are only spring flowers in december. That is when I started to melt down, but he was like dont worry I will know exactly what flowers I can get end of November beginning of December so you wont be surprised if I can not get them. But they should be available. So we will see. Keeping my fingers crossed for a great flower season, because all the flowers I love do not typically come in the winter. So with all that said we should have anemones in January, hopefully.

Which would also be the reason why I did not attend our Jax Get Together! I am very sorry for missing it! WR: We are on a budget and my Dad ( who is pretty much paying for all of the wedding) has known about what I was planning for the bar which is the following: 2 kinds of beer, 3 kinds of wine, and 2 signature cocktails. He now has voiced that he thinks that's not good enough and thinks we need to throw in some crown and some other things. I tried to explain that most people would just be happy with beer and wine.. but we are throwing in 2 special drinks.. and that if we just add a little bit more it's going to look like a very limited full bar which would probably look tacky? UGH.. what are your opinions?

So after a lot of searching for dresses and not finding anything that I loved in the right color I decided to change the look of the wedding. The girls will now be wearing black cocktail dresses. I hated how everything looked so "bridesmaidy" and my sister looked SO fantatsic in this dress. Everything else she tried on afterwards didn't compare. I'm so excited that they'll get to really feel fabulous and sexy. I'm actually really excited about the new change. I'm happy they can spend money on something they can wear again and again and I think it will look even more clean and modern which is what we were going for. Needless to say all of the girls have been overjoyed by the choice. The guys will wear black suits and we're going to have their shirts be a shade of the blue green color we were originally looking at for the girls. I can't wait to see how the white anemones and the green of the hydrangea and orchids pop against the black. I'll also have their bouquets wrapped in a blue green color. The dress is Bill Levkoff style: 378. The ruching on their dresses is going to compliment mine so well. I tired the dress on too and want to order one just because! :)

This was posted on my month board, I found it entertaining. The 10 steps every bride should know to using the bathroom properly on your wedding day: #1 Take AT LEAST one other girl with you, if not two. But Two is much better than one. #2-- Enter the stall but don't turn around. Have the girls enter behind you, yes this requires leaving the door open. But don't worry, you've got so much dress no one will see anything! # 3- Let the girl(s) hold up the back of your dress. #4- You go under the front of your dress and grab your shorts/panties/undies or whatever you've got on under there. #5 You will probably need them completely off. # 6 Sit backwards on the toilet really, I mean facing the wall backwards. It's the easiest way since your girl(s) are holding the back of your dress. You should be holding the front of your dress up. #7 Get someone to hand you some paper. #8 Stand and put that caboose in reverse while the girl(s) are still holding your back part up. #9 Grab your shorts and dress yourself. This is probably the hardest part-- You may need to put a leg up on the seat to get some leverage. #10 When you're ready. Let your girl(s) know they can drop your dress. But don't let them leave just yet. Once your out of the stall have them Fluff!

I mainly lurk but I am so happy with my photos I had to share. We used Wilson Photography and Mike and Jessica were fabulous to work with. I can't wait to see the rest of them! We're the first wedding listed (Lisa and Jordan). http://wilsonphotographs.blogspot.com/ Really they were great- so if anyone is looking for photographers I would highly recommend them. Most of our vendors were family freinds but I might do vendor reviews for some of the others later.
