Divorce Date Help!

Hi Ladies

my wedding is in 18 days and before i can get the marriage application approved, i need the EXACT day of when the groom's previous marriage ended in Miami dade county. Ughh and he lost the paper doc with it!

Since we only need the date and not a physical document, we tried going on their courthouse website to get the date but nothing came up on the search.

Any south florida (Miami) brides had the same issue? any helpful tips? :-((((((

Hi all! I'm new...posted in *last* weeks Newbie Monday...

I'm Lia and my fiance's name is Jordan. We got engaged this past July in Greece - and I'm SO excited. We're planning on getting married in the spring of 2014 - so PLENTY of time to plan...but I already know this is going to be a wild (and bumpy) ride.

I've already hit a huge bump: where we're going to get married. It is very important to us and to our families that we get married in a church, as we're both strong in our faith. Problem is our families don't go to the same church. Now the easy part is his church is not really an option, as there has been bad blood and drama...however, he and his family are not exactly "thrilled" to do it at my church. It's much smaller (though I am sure it can accomodate 250 people relatively comfortably) but it's been my church for literally my entire life. FI has moved around a bit and has only been at his church for less than half his life...and as I said, there's been drama and bad blood.

It means a lot to me, sentimentally, to be married in my church, and I know my parents would be crushed...but my FMIL pretty much hates the thought...and FI isn't thrilled about it either.

Our reception will be in another church's hall (same faith, just different city) so FI thinks it makes sense to just get married in THAT church and then do the reception in THAT hall...to keep everything in one place. It does make sense, but it's not where I've seen myself getting married. It's much larger than my home church, just feels foreign...ugh, I don't know. I'm so torn.

I would love to get married in my church (as his is ruled out) and neither of us, or our families have a close tie or association with the other church where the reception will be. I can't make everyone happy and I just reallly don't want this to be an all out war. What do I dooooooo??

So I have to share, my shoes finally came in! I'm a little mad because apparently they've been in for over 2 weeks and DB didn't call and let me know, but whatever, I have them now! My FI, who is a total rockstar when it comes to the wedding, has already started the blinging out process on one of the heels, what do you all think?

I'm so excited they came in, I was able to schedule my first dress fitting for the 17th... except I'm nervous because I still haven't found a corset/pretty long line bra to wear underneath. (This might be TMI for some, but FI doesn't do lingerie, so I don't want to waste money for the night of/honeymoon, rather get something useful instead.) - Invites are out...finally!!! :D
- We picked our reception music for entrance for us and wedding party, cake cutting, gater removal/toss, bouquet toss, and last dance.
- Our Yankee Candle favors arrived in the mail and they smell so wonderful!
- Purchased superhero t-shirts for the only kids in our wedding party, our nephews as part of their gifts. Best part of it all...all their t-shirsts were less than $7 from Old Navy.

I am having the hardest time with florists. Does anyone have a recomendation for an affordable one that responds in Miami. I've been to three, 2 have yet to give me a quote despite the fact that it's been weeks and my numerous attempts to get a qoute. The other one florist responds very quickly, but everything is $100 or more. It doesn't matter what flowers I pick out, the centerpeice is always at lest $100. To me this seems high. How much is everyone else paying for centerpeices and do you have any recomendations?

I just got an email today from the Catering Manager/Primary contact at our venue/hotel (Wyndham garden hotel, Boca) letting me know that her last day was Friday and she took another position somewhere else... I am so upset as she was much of the reason for us choosing the venue that we did. Is there anything special that I should do? Not to mention I am getting married in Florida and live in Boston.. :( So I'm not even nearby... ugh just so bummed.

Hi ladies,

Hope your having a lovely Friday! I am taking my engagement pics next month and can't decide on a location. I want to go to 3 different places, Sunlife Stadium (FI is a forever fins season tix holder), South Point (hoping I don't need to ask permission or pay a fee) and I wanted 1 more place preferably inside a chic boutique hotel on South Beach or Brickell but that won't charge an arm and a leg. I like the National, the Setai, and Viceroy but they all required some fee. Or maybe not a hotel but something equally chic/ hollywood regency that I can do them at for free. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've spent a lot of this week thinking about guest books and how much of a waste they can be. I knew I wanted something that I wold look at, something that didn't feel like a sign in sheet for PTO night. Suffice to say we are in a new age of wedding ideas and some of these guest books are FABULOUS. Check it out:

Jenga! If you and Hubby are big game-night fans, this is a great way to incorporate your hobbies.

A Children's book. This is even cute for a bridal or baby shower, and you'll definitely use the book!

My FI went through a gardening phase. If you've recently purchased a home or wan to spruce up your backyard this bench is a great way to remember your guests.

I love Monograms for a master bedroom. This can double as your home decor.

Photobooth chalk board. This is just great and needs no explanation :)

After searching and searching, I had finally found a great photographer that was reasonable and willing to work with us on price. I sent him an email last week to set up a day to make a deposit with no reply. Spoke with him today and much to my dismay, he booked another wedding :(. I am so disappointed especially after he told me that this other couple doesn't even have a venue yet. Who does that?? Am I wrong for hoping she has to change her date???
