Morning catholic ceremony

Does anyone know of catholic churches that will perform a saturday wedding ceremony in the morning, like around 10 am? We want an afternoon reception, but we're having a hard time finding a church that will accommodate the time. Our reception will be at Pinecrest Gardens, so somewhere nearby would be ideal, but not required. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

For our guest book we made a shutterfly book with pics of us as kids and then growing up and together. We have a MOH and BM page with pics of us as kids and adults with the BM and MOH. There is a spot for text on this page and I have no idea what to put. When I google best man or mai of honor quotes I get marriage quotes and when I goodle friendship quotes I get really cheesy things. Anyone have an idea of a short phrase we can put on this page thats not ridiculously cheesy but just nice? Thanks for the help!

Hello ladies!

So here's my latest dihlemma... Originally, I had been shopping for a ball gown. I have a big personality and love dramatic flare (with class). I had found a gorgeous ballgown here in NYC - lace with sparkle (i'm all about the sparkle!) and really fell in love with it.

Until...

I recently lost 25 lbs - 10 alone since I first found the ballgown, and now I'm starting to think that maybe I want a dress that does more to show off my curves, and new body. So, I dragged myself back to Kleinfelds yesterday, and found a beautiful, exquisite A-line/fit-n-flare lace tiered dress that shows off my curves a bit more.

Now I'm conflicted! I've always dreamed of the ballgown look, but now I'm finding myself loving seeing my new form (that i worked so hard to acheive) - what's a bride-to-be to do???

I'm working on my clear lables now so that when invites get here they will be ready to go! I have read that it is of course traditional to print by hand addresses and to not put bride and grooms names together until marriage. Oh well. Since we are pretty much hosting it, what should I put as a return address on the invite envelope? Heather ______ and Timothy_____ and the address? Ms. Heather ______ and Mr. Timothy ______ and the address? or just put the address with no names? AND for the reply card am I addressing it to just me? Put it in both of our names with Mr. and Ms. or no Mr. and Ms.? Both the invite and RSVP are non traditional and casual. TIA ladies!

I am at a loss as to what is the right gifts to get for the bridal party. We were expecting to get pocket watches for the guys but a recent wedding my FI was in, they gave everyone pocket watches (everyone who was in that wedding will be in ours). As for the Bridesmaids, there are only 3 total. They are not typical wear-makeup-use purses-wear jewlery type of girls. So I am stuck! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I was thinking about satin silk robes but I am not sure what sort of budget is typical for bridesmaids.

there is a venue that is slightly new close to the tampa area in Thonotosassa it's called the barger estate. If you look at their website the pictures are beautiful, but don't be fooled and do not waste your time. I called them because I was interested in the place and they told me they had one bad experience and they will no longer be doing weddings. Save yourself the time and do not call!

We went to get our ketubah framed yesterday... Woah... No one warned me that this is a HUGE expense, so I figured I'd give you fair warning! We actually had a gottahalfit deal for the framing, which helped a little bit with the cost... But again, WOAH...

It also doesn't help that every time you say, "can we get a cheaper _____," they respond with, "are you sure? you want to love it, you're going to have it in your home forever."

We also got our ketubah from ketubah.com, if anyone is interested. I absolutely LOVE it, had a great experience with the company, and was VERY happy when the framing guy was commenting on the high quality of the paper.

Bachelorette Party! Vendor Rave!

Hey All,
I had my bachelorette party last night and had an AMAZING time! We started with a private party at Sexy Secrets lingerie store in South Miami. They have very affordable packages starting at $20 a person that included wine and cheese, a $10 gift certifiate for anything in the store, fun games and a naughty presentation. They do have a pole dancing classes too but we just did the basic package and still had a great time. If you're looking for a risque time I would totally suggest Sexy Secrets! Its so fun and you'll come home with a few lingerie pieces too!

After the lingerie store my gals headed over to Buffalo Wild Wings for karoake and more drinks which worked perfectly for my group of 13 girls. So much fun!

Hi, all.

I posted earlier in the week about budgets and florists and would love to get some more insight from you ladies who have already gone through the floral/décor booking process. Our wedding is taking place at a synagogue with the reception to follow in the attached ballroom. I am perfectly happy with simple elegant flowers/candles/lighting and we are willing to “recycle” flowers (i.e. take flowers from the ceremony to use to decorate the reception. I am thinking of doing this with the bouquets and reusing them on the cake table and sweetheart table).

I am basically wondering if my expectations are reasonable. We are looking to use one company to do all of our flowers/lighting/rentals/décor.

The following is my list of wants:

Bedeken/Pre-Ceremony Cocktails and Food:
Rented couch/chairs for the bedeken
Florals or candles or something small for the cocktail tables

Ceremony:
Chuppah
Aisle décor (probably candles, flowers, and tulle)
4 very small bouquets
5 boutonnieres
2 corsages

Reception:
Centerpieces for 9 tables of 12 (these are huge tables but I am willing to do simple groupings or something equally easy)
Seating chart table décor
Up-lighting
110 Chivari chairs

Our budget is $3,000-3,700. Does this seem realistic? My first florist meeting is next week and I am wondering if they are going to look at me as if I have two heads. J

So I wrote a long post and posted it last night but i just checked and it never showed up... awesome. Anyways, I'll try and write it over again from memory lol

I can't believe the time has finally come for me to write this post. I remember when I joined this board in November 2010 after my engagement. I'm getting married in practically a day and it still doesn't feel real. I've had a year and a half - and it still hasnt sunk in yet.

For you new girls to the board, 2 pieces of advice. Take your time picking your bridal party - you want these girls to have your back and make planning easier and not harder. Pick REAL friends, even if it means you'll just have one bridesmaid (or none). Also - try and go to the G2G. It's such a great way to meet the girls on the board and people who are going through the same things as you. I only got to go to one but I wish I went to more. I was too nervous about stepping out of my comfort zone and I wish I hadnt been.

I'll be sure and come back to write my reviews after the honeymoon but till then - I wish you all the best with your wedding planning and marriage. Enjoy your engagement & dont focus about the little stuff, you're getting to marry your prince charming and thats all that matters in the end. I couldn't be more excited.

Can't wait till Friday!! One more day!!

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie Knottie! Live in North NJ and planning a wedding next year in SoFla -- open to anywhere between Delray Beach and SoBe. I'm hoping to find a resort where we can do the ceremony and reception and all of our out-of-town guests can stay and play. But groom and I are paying for this ourselves, and the goal is for the grand total to be no more than $15-$20K MAX. Have gotten quotes already from a couple of places that were just astronomical.

Any tips on spots that fit this description/budget would be very much appreciated. TIA! xx

Hi ladies! I'm from Phoenix and just got married this past weekend. We are taking a cruise that leaves from Miami, but flying into Ft. Lauderdale because SW doesn't fly to Miami.

Can anyone recommend a car service or limo service (shuttle would work too) to get us from FLL to MIA? I've looked up stuff online but don't know who would be best to use.

We're trying to keep it under $100, so we don't really want to take a cab.

so my silly yet lovable fiance was apparently trying to suprise me by singing a song and playing his acoustic guitar at the ceremony .... but ... I FOUND OUT ... lol ....

first .... he left the music up on his computer with his guitar out

second ... hes been playing the same song OVER AND OVER AND OVER again ....

third ... and this is typical for a man .... the DJ called me back on my cell phone to tell my fiance that he has the cords for his guitar for the ceremony ...

now all i haveto do is practice my suprise face!

p.s. hes playing and singing either Jack Johnson Angel ... or Jason Mraz Im Yours .... both have been played over and over again ,... jack johnson is my fav ....

dun dun dun ... ill have to find out in 37 days which one of the 2!

Engagement Session Question

Hi Knotties,
For those of you who have had your engagement session - what tips can you give me. We're doing it outdoors on a boat, so I'm brining extra bobbie pins, hairspray, and flats so the owner of the boat doesn't have too much of a heart attack since I'll be wearing heels.

I've printed a couple of pics to give to the photographer. Is there anything I haven't covered or advise since I'm not really a picture person.

OMG girls I cant believe it!!! 99 Days until my wedding day - my fiance and I were thinking about this time last year when he actually asked me to marry him! We had no clue what we wanted to do for our wedding and I didnt know half as much as I know now about the whole wedding planning business!! Its crazy how quickly time passes by. In 3 month I'm going to be a married woman and it still feels like yesterday when we started dating 6 years ago!! Thank you for letting me share :)
