My daughter got married this past July. She doesn’t send out Christmas cards. We always do a family photo and I send out the cards. Would it be in poor taste to use our family photo from her wedding as our Christmas card photo?

I know it doesn't seem like a real struggle, but I have a questionnaire to fill out for my photographer, and she is asking me to describe the style of my wedding. It's a beach wedding, and the only thing I have currently is "beachy". Any other suggestions?

Florida West Coast Beach House Wedding

Hi Friends,

My fiance and I are dreaming of doing a wedding on the beach followed by an outdoor/house party type reception. Has anyone come across beachfront houses that might be suitable for this idea?

For reference a venue that fits this bill is the Sunset Beach House (mysunsetbeach.com). It's a great space but obviously very booked up.

Also looking for decent restaurants too on the beach like the Sandbar Restaurant.

hi everyone!
my fiancé and I are new to Florida (a little over a year here) and we’d like to get married on the beach followed by more of a cocktail party atmosphere instead of a sit down reception. I really like St. Pete Beach for ease of access to multiple beach bars and beach town atmosphere. I haven’t stayed many other places on the west coast and want to keep the wedding near an airport but we are open to other beach town suggestions. I’m struggling to find a place on the beach where I can do what I have envisioned. Does anyone know of a bar/restaurant they could suggest for a more casual get together instead of a formal
sit down? we’re thinking 50 people and preferably something outside. It doesn’t have to be private, a sectioned off area for my guests to be served works for me!

Need suggestions on finding a venue that works with my budget. Looked at Le Meridien and 1390 Grande Room in Tampa and love them but might be out of my budget when it comes down to guest list. My max budget for venue,food & bar, tax & gratuity is $10,000 for 115-130 ish people. I've even decided to do a lunch time wedding because its a lot cheaper. Getting really discouraged at this point with all the response emails that are out of our budget.

I had to unfortunately cancel my wedding and am trying to sell my venue.
The venue is for the ceremony and reception or you can just use it for the reception.

It is for the October 7th date of 2017. That is a Saturday. It a beautiful place and near lots of attractions including beaches.

The package includes:
tables and chairs
Day of coordinator
help setting up and breaking down
use of entire gardens and garden room that seats up to 175 people
5 hours of rental time

I have already paid the deposit. The rest of the payment ($2,140) is due Sept 7th (30 days before the event)

I am just trying to get some of my money back since the deposit was non refundable. I put down $2,400. Selling price is $2000

Wedding band engraving - custom

hi everyone, I'm in the st. Petersburg area.

Looking to have my fiancées wedding band engraved and I know the phrase I want too. It's around 46 characters in length, including spaces. The store said they can only do 27 total and had no recommendation aside from edit it down.
Doing so I can bring it to 38 total, it doesn't really convey the message if I edit it more.

Doesnt anyone have any recommendations or suggestions for where to go or what to do around here??

We are getting married at the Dali in St. Pete in February. I just moved to Orlando a few months ago and I'm not all that familiar with Florida. Hello, Knotties! I am getting married on November 5th next year and did our cake tasting last week at Carolyn's in St. Pete. It was SOOOO delicious and reasonable! However, we are also having desserts as part of the catering (We are using Puff n' Stuff), so we weren't planning on having a cake, but now I kind of want one! For anyone who bucked tradition and went without the cake, did you regret it? Were any of your guests disappointed? Or was it as awesome and money saving as I am thinking?

Hey everybody!!! I just recently got engaged and we are trying to figure out ideas for our wedding ceremony/reception. We are thinking that we would love to do something on the beach in the St.Pete or Anna Maria Island area but we are flexible. Really anywhere from the Tarpon Springs to the Siesta Key area would be great. The problem is that I don't want to do it on the strip full of busy hotels with people walking around in the back of your photos but these seem to be the only places that accomodate 150-200 people. Do any of you know of some good venues that accomodate large groups but is more private?

We're thinking of doing a rehearsal dinner followed by a bonfire, the ceremony/reception, and farewell brunch the next morning. Just trying to get some input from people that have actually had their weddings there for any pros/cons or things to keep in mind.

We are planning to visit the top 1-3 (if a clear winner hasn't emerged before then) in October but are going there for a friend's wedding and don't want to spend our entire vacation driving up and down the coast if possible.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I am from CT and having a horrible time finding the "perfect place" here within a reasonable price. I came across Rosemary Beach online and it looks perfect. Then I started exploring he area and also came across Seaside, FL which looks awesome too! Have any of you gotten married or planning a wedding at any of these places and if so, are you local or out of state?

I've heard somewhat mixed reviews about Sunken Gardens, and I'm looking to have my reception there in December. Can anyone who's had a wedding/reception there share their experience? Logistically, is it difficult to get food, alcohol, decorations, etc. organized? Are they overpriced once everything is added up (e.g., food, alcohol, linens, music, cake)?

Last summer, my fiancé and I booked the Powel Crosley for Saturday, 4/2/2016 (a prime date to get married there!). We booked the full rental to include the estate and grounds. However, due to some budget changes, we have moved our wedding location/venue elsewhere. As such, we are looking to sell our wedding date to a couple who is interested in getting married at the Crosley on 4/2/2016. Having booked the Crosley 20 months in advance, I know how difficult it is to get a prime date like this with short notice so I know this will probably be a great opportunity for some bride and groom out there!

We are "selling" the date for $2150 (which covers the deposit for the date), with the remaining balance ($3584.50) to be paid directly to the Crosley. The total cost for the rental for the full day is $5734.50 (tax included). This does not include the rehearsal, however that can be booked directly with the Crosley for an additional $100.

I can provide proof of my agreement with them. If you have a client who wishes to take advantage of this, I will have to cancel my agreement and put the new contract in their name. I am only looking to help someone out as I know how amazing this venue is and how IMPOSSIBLE it is for newly-engaged couples to get a Crosley date within 6-7 months, and particularly during the spring.

Need some inspiration for a C&R location (same place) that is NOT the beach. Any suggestions?! Really want an outdoor ceremony so anywhere with big oak trees will do, or if anyone knows of a barn that isn't as expensive as Cross Creek or Lange that would be helpful. Thanks guys!

It is a beautiful garden setting for 50 people, all arrangements made, including food, flowers, dj, ceremony area and reception.

Hello fellow FL brides!!! I have been lurking on this site since I got engaged but now I officially need help! I am looking for an indoor space where we can have both the ceremony AND the reception. We are getting married over the summer and I am a very fair bride who burns in about 1.5 minutes and I don't want any of my guests to be uncomfortable in the heat. So far, we are looking at The Dali, Tampa Aquarium, Tampa Museum, The Rusty Pelican, and Tradewinds. Does anyone have any suggestions I may not have thought of or come across? Did anyone get married inside in the Tampa area at a beautiful space you can recommend?
