Hello,

I live in Atlanta, GA and I'm looking for suggestions on where to take engagement photos. As far as locations go, neither of us are fans of just the wide open pastures/barns/old trucks vibes. We like city locations and wineries. I do loveee flowers also. We also both are huge book people--not sure if you know of any cool old libraries/bookshops or if those would even photograph well. If I'm honest, we love things that look old/vintage--but not run down

Can you tell I'm struggling?? Would love any help!!

My fiance and I are looking to have our engagement photos done at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. There is a $200 fee for photo shoots which includes admission for up to 10 individuals. We currently have 3 people so we can bring an additional 7 others. We've already contacted ABG and they stated that it would be fine if we split into different photo groups as long as we have only up to 10 people.

Would anyone be interested in joining us May 10th at 4:30pm-6:30pm and splitting the costs with us? Please feel free to post if so! Deadline on when this is available is until April 26, 2017 since we need to give ABG a list of names.

For a bit of clarity for those who are interested: Note that your photographer counts as an individual and you will need to "bring" your own. I know the lingo online seems confusing, but ABG does not provide photographers.

More Info Online:
http://atlantabg.org/content/1-visit/2-visitor-info/photography__video_policy.pdf

I'm looking to get married in October/November 2017. We live in Flowery Branch, GA and are willing to drive a bit for the right location. We have $2,000 total to spend. We prefer an outside ceremony, but at this point, I'll take what I can get. I would like a place that let's us bring our own food. We actually want to bring grills and grill out. (My brother is excellent on the grill and is excited to cook for everyone!) We are looking at around 75 guests. Maybe less. My major focus is getting a venue for a ceremony and reception in one, plus food and drinks for $2,000. It's starting to feel impossible and I'm ready to give up. I wanted to rent a cabin for a night or two. And host everything there. But finding a big enough location that accomodates parking and space for an outdoor ceremony is difficult. Plus, Im not sure many cabin owners are willing to let me do that.

I'm lost.

I have been searching high and low for a decent venue with the barn/rustic/brick style, that offers more than chairs and tables in the rental price. Location is preferably east (more southeast) Atlanta. Trying to keep my budget at or below $6000 for everything.

I would love to have the ceremony/reception at the same place to convenience guests. I would pay more if full catering to guests was included. I want a bridal suite and grooms quarters. Need rehearsal the night before. Would love kitchen and ice maker on site. Not a huge fan of plantation style (which is most popular out here), but it isn't totally out of the question. If it will save me money to get married in the hot months, I will do it, but I don't really want an outdoor wedding.

I've look at so many places, my head is spinning. I wrote down 180 guests, but am happy to cut that down to 150.

Anyone know of any hidden places I haven't found yet??

Hello brides to be! I wanted to share an opportunity to be in a paid research study ($200 in Amazon Gift Cards) at Georgia State University. I think this would be a great opportunity for extra funds if you're a DIY bride and plan to make things for your wedding, to purchase any registry items that were not fulfilled, or just as an interesting experience with your fiancé. More information can be found on our website: https://gsucouplesstudy.wordpress.com/.
We created and shared a honeyfund for Turks and Caicos, but have decided not to risk it because we're going to be trying for a baby and it's also a bad season to go right after our wedding (October). We have a lovely backup plan as we have always wanted to do a Rocky Mountain Christmas, so we're going to Denver and have some plans to explore surrounding areas. The thing is, our honeyfund still says we are going to Caicos. The only reason I haven't changed it is that you can't, as far as I can tell. They have a cadre of destinations, and Denver isn't one of them. The basic principal is the same - if you donate money it will still be to our honeymoon and not to rent or anything, but I don't want people to feel duped when they see pictures of snow and not sandy beaches. Thoughts?

First of all, I want to say that my husband and I love our wedding day.
It was so perfectly us. However, our wedding photography, Lovelei
Photography by Leianna Boenke, will forever be a thorn in our side.

It has been 15 months since our wedding. We
have yet to receive all of our wedding photographs. Leianna promised
multiple times to upload the photos, until she stopped responding
completely. There are so many photos from the day of that we never
received- photos that we took time away from our friends and family to
make. The largest group of missing photos are my husband's groomsmen
photos. Not one was ever uploaded. My husband will never enjoy his
groomsmen photos. For me, that is the worst part- knowing that I hired
this person who has so disappointed my husband. He was so excited to
have those memories with the men he treasures most, and unfortunately
there is almost no possibility that we will ever receive them.

Then
there are the photos that were never taken. Neither photographer was
there when I tossed my bouquet. I still have no idea where they were.
Later in the evening, both photographers' cameras died at the same
time. They did not have backup cameras or batteries, so there are no
photos during that time.

We have made
countless phone calls, sent countless emails, even hired lawyers. The
business has moved with no forwarding address. I want to make sure that
no other brides have to suffer this. Absolutely stay away from Leianna
Boenke and Lovelei Photography.

I am getting married in 2017 in Atlanta and trying to get some prices for good photographers... most have pretty high rates for shooting a wedding. However, I am looking for one that will capture some of the pre-ceremony, the ceremony itself and for about 30 minutes after to capture photos of us with our friends and family. I do not want a photographer for the reception period (we are only planning to have 40 guests, at most). If anyone can send me some info. on photographers who would be willing to negotiate for handling a wedding without the reception.

We are inviting 200 people to our wedding in Spring 2018 and we are looking for an outdoor ceremony indoor reception venue. We absolutely fell in love with Little Gardens but it is a little too expensive for us. We have gone through just about every venue on this site and toured dozens. If you have any recommendations, maybe lesser known, PLEASE help me. We are paying for our wedding ourselves so I don't want it to cost an arm and a leg but I can't cut down our guest list without removing close family... Any other ideas to cut cost?

On a side note, we really liked Vercoma at Yellow River but had some concerns. If anyone has gotten married there I would love to talk about it.

They are in charge of the rental of the Ballroom at the Carlos Center, and I have been trying to book my reception here for about a month. They are slow to return emails, if at all. I'm just curious if this is common for this company, or could it maybe just be the coordinator I am working with? Trying to decide if it's time to start looking for another venue. Stuck on making this work because they allow outside catering and for you to bring in your own alcohol. wedding size of 300. not sure i can find another place that offers everything i'm looking for.

Hi there!

My fiancé and I are hoping to get married in the fall of 2015. We are planning on having the ceremony at our church in Dunwoody. We are trying to keep the reception venue within a 25-minute drive (at the most). We would also like to book a venue that will allow us to bring in our own food & drinks to save on costs. We have a guest list of 300 people so we are trying to save money wherever we can... We have been looking primarily in the Roswell & Marietta areas but are open to other areas as well. Any recommendations?

Thanks!
