Trying to find something in the middle so that niether family has to travel too far but not having much luck. Any suggestions? We are looking for somewhere to do an outdoor ceremony with the possible option of having it indoor as well if weather is bad with the reception on site as well! We have About 200 guests. I've been looking in the Roswell area and have been unsuccessful! Everything is booking quick!

Hi!
Any ideas??? Im looking for a train station/depot venue or maybe a farm with railroad tracks. My theme is railroad and trains because my finace works for the railroad. Near atlanta or outside pretty much open to anything within 2 hours of atlanta and affordable under $2000. Not too big i only have 75-85 guests. I have looked at trolley barn too expensive $3500 and not near the tracks, 550 trackside in lawencville $3500 too expensive. A farm or barn near some tracks would be ideal. I just need the tracks in photographs and i am looking for the rustic look. I have pretty much scoured the internet for photographs with railroad tracks and im exhausted. Other states have what I want but I have to keep it in georgia. You would think altanta being the hub of the railroad would have saved some train stations but they didnt the only one is the georgia freight and it has no tracks near it. thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!

Hello again, ladies...

My mind is going in a thousand different directions and in my previous post, I started asking about venues. I started thinking about inviting more people, thus, increasing our budget, which just make the stress pile on.

Originally, my fiance and I thought to have a small wedding ceremony (somewhere - don't know where) followed by a nice, formal dinner with only our closest friends and family (and spouses). He and I are more on the quiet, private side and throwing a huge bash isn't very "us".

I've been reading older posts on this board about restaurants with patios and have hosted weddigns in the past. Unfortunately, those posts are a couple years old and the restaurants (like Anthony's and Feast) have since closed.

Would anyone know of a restaurant that would host a small, private dining group of about 20-25? Whether or not they have a space for a ceremony doesn't matter - it would be great, but we can find another place for a ceremony if need be.

I have already contacted Canoe and Ray's on the River; both restaurants would rather us have our wedding reception on a weekday and prefer larger groups on the weekends, it sounds. Due to taking our guests' work schedules into consideration, we are not willing to hold our wedding on a weekday.

Can anyone help? :)

Hello, ladies!

Although my boyfriend has not proposed yet, we're having frequent, serious discussions about planning a very small, budget-friendly wedding for late 2013. I have a few ideas, but bringing them to fruition is the problem. Perhaps some of you can help? Please?

I've set a budget of a maximum of $5,000. I want to aim to come under that. Way under.

We have decided that we only want our inner circle of family and friends there, thus, keeping the cost down. As of right now, our guest list is at a grand total of 17 people.

After researching ways to keep wedding costs down, I have settled on having our wedding in the off season, on an off day, at an off time. I really like the idea of having a Sunday brunch wedding. I'm also okay with a limited bar (beer, wine, two signature cocktails) and hors d'oeuvers instead of a sit-down meal.

I would really like a venue that can do "double duty" - serving as both my ceremony and reception site. I was thinking of, perhaps, a restaurant with a large, private room in the back or a hotel in Atlanta.

We live in Paulding County and a lot of the venues around here are full service and thousands of dollars. We just don't have the guest list or money to justify using these places. I would really like to get married in Atlanta because we both love the city, but I understand that any venue can be incredibly expensive once you hit the city limits. We are willing to consider any and all venues that meet our criteria in the metro Atlanta area.

Overall, we would really like to have a intimate wedding surrounded by those who are closest to us without breaking the bank. We would rather put the majority of our money towards the honeymoon and updating our new home (the honey-do list is about a mile long!).

I don't want to slop together a wedding and call it a day, either. I want a classy, tastefully done wedding that can be memorable for not only us, but our friends and family, too.

If anyone can help steer me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated!

Well, it finally came and went. I had an amazing wedding day. I figure it's time to post my reviews! :)

PLANNING:
We used Three Goats Tall (clicky) for planning. Lynda was amazing. I don't actually know what I would have done without her. Some really awful things happened (DRAMA with my family, etc) and she was there to help me figure out what I needed to do next, find last minute vendors when some of ours pulled out...seriously....amazing. She also recommended Celebrate Tuxedo for our tuxes.

TUXEDOS:
Celebrate Tuxedo (clicky). MJ was awesome. She helped us pick tuxedos in our price range that looked AMAZING on each one of the guys. I was also impressed with how quickly she was able to get replacements for pieces that didn't fit quite right. The best part is, she knows the planner, and therefore pieces were able to be delived right to the church for our procrastinating groomsmen :).

CATERING:
For catering, we used Contemporary Catering (clicky) in Newnan. Our food was delicious. People are STILL talking about the mashed potatoes!!! Jennifer and Terri made the buffet display absolutely beautiful. The food was hot, and we didn't run out. I love that they made us a to go plate since we were so busy entertaining and didn't get a chance to eat. We surely appreciated it when we got home!!! We also used CC for our bar. They did a great job job of keeping the line almost non-existant. Quick service.

FLOWERS
Newnan Florist (clicky). We booked them about a month out because our florist bailed. (LOOOOOONG story) She was able to take my TINY budget (less than $700 for 7 BM, 7 GM, parents, floor pieces, etc) and make my wedding flowers look like they were expensive even with a LITERALLY last minute order.

ALTERATIONS
At the suggestion of my planner, I used Elegant Designs by Candice Louise. (click) She SAVED my dress. As we all know, I had that little issue at David's Bridal where they ordered my dress in the wrong size (entirely too small) and refused to fix it. They then wanted to charge me almost $700 to fix it. Not Candi. She was able to take the zipper out of my dress and insert a lace back (which I originally wanted anyway!) and bustle...and it was a FRACTION of the cost. I was so happy with my dress and my BMs dresses....you have no idea how much of a relief it was when I was able to step into my dress and look absolutely perfect.

More to come!

Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are looking for a JOP to come perform our ceremony at the Emory Conference Center. We don't want anyone who is religiously ordained or affiliated in any way, and finding someone is turning out to be way more difficult than I thought it would be. Maybe I'm just searching wrong, but I'm having the hardest time finding non-religious officiants in the area. If any of you have any names you can share I would very much appreciate it!

Thanks!
