In, my defense, I may be jumping on the trendy bandwagon; but I've only ever seen chalkboards in wedding decor in magazines. I've never been to an actual wedding where they were used; so I got the great idea to DIY chalkboards for my wedding. I found 4 awesome vintage frames at local thrift stores, painted them gold, my dad cut boards to fit, and tomorrow I'm painting them with magnetic primer and chalkboard paint!!! I' SO excited to use these!!! And when the wedding is over we are going to use them in our kitchen. Now I am searching for easels....... Does anyone know where I could find some??? Michaels or Hobby Lobby i'm guessing??? I've never had to look for them before!

Is anyone else doing DIY stuff that you are super excited about?????

I've just started planning a wedding for early summer 2012. I have looked at a ton of venues (visited 6 so far!) but can't seem to find "the one." I need help! I want a Saturday evening wedding, where I can get married outside (later in the evening when it's cooler!) but have something with A/C for the reception - either inside or a big climate-controlled tent. I'm looking at ~150 people and I want a place where we'll all be in the same room - not segmented into different areas of a house. I would love something on the water but that might be tough since we're in Atlanta. I don't want to have to drive more than an hour from Atlanta, either - it would be hard for guests flying in to get there. I have some flexibility on budget but hope to keep it below $100/pp for food and alcohol; I'm willing to spend more if I found the *perfect* place though.

Does this place exist? Am I being too picky? So far I have found beautiful outdoor spaces with no A/C (not an option for a summer reception!), or great facilities 2 hours outside Atlanta, or places that won't hold 150 and a dance floor. Any suggestions of venues would be great, or maybe a reality check if I'm going to have to compromise! Thanks in advance!

I did a price comparison at four tuxedo shops. At three of the tux places I did not get a straight answer about the price. Three of the four places said "It depends". One place said that they did all-inclusive pricing so that everybody would know exactly what they would be paying. But I'll start with the ones who didn't give a straight answer first.
Joseph A. Bank said that the price depends on what you get and what upgrades come with it. When asked what an upgrade was, he said things like shoes, a nice shirt and pocket square. They were nearly 200 dollars for a rental. I didn't ask what a not-nice shirt looked like!
Savvi Formalwear gave a similar response and it seemed to be a young person who answered the phone or maybe just a trainee because she didn't seem to know very many answers. When I did get a person who knew the pricing, it was about $180 for everthing.
Men's Wearhouse started with a lowball number, even though I had asked for the price of a nice tuxedo. When I asked again if this was their best they said "no". What's the price with everything for the nicest rental tux that you have? Do you need shoes? "Yes", I said -- everything. It's about $170 plus tax. What an ordeal, just to get a straight answer!
The one straight answer was -- the place where we're getting ours, King Tux Rentals. $149.99 for tuxes that are not black. That includes jacket, pants, shirt, cufflinks vest, tie and pocket square (any color/pattern) and fashionable shoes. Out of curiosity,(I said) how much for black tuxes? "For a 2-button notch lapel, best anywhere tux in black - $119.99 plus tax - all-inclusive"

So the bottom line is
Joseph A Bank $200
Savvi - $180
MW - $170
King Tux - $150 (or $120 if it's a regular black tux)

In the last few years there have been some amazing changes in the fibers that are used for making men's suits and tuxedos. We needed to find tuxedos for the wedding that were synthetic because of an allergy to wool on the groom's side. Come to find out, all of the nice tuxes that the big chain stores had were ALL wool! (there were some not-nice ones made of thick polyester).
Anyway, this might be something that you need to ask the groomsmen in the wedding - "Are you allergic to wool?"

The selection of gowns was the absolute best I'd seen after visiting 4 other bridal shops in Atlanta. I told them I saved the best for last & it was absolutely TRUE! I ordered my dream dress that day & can't wait for it to arrive :)www.belfiorebridal.com/">

www.belfiorebridal.com

Hey everyone! I am needing Venue help in the Douglasville/Villa Rica area please! It's a small budget only around 1K, is there anything? I have booked the Sunset Ranch which is perfect for an outdoor wedding, and we had the church just in case, now the church we booked is going under and may not be there by the time we get married.

This has been one headache after another! Does anyone have any ideas?

On a positive note we have picked out our invitations, now I just need an address to put on them!

Thanks!

I live in metro Atlanta and do not want to go to far south. I am getting married next October and would love to have an outdoor wedding but I am so scared that it will rain. It seems that all Atlanta venues I like are for 100 people and ones that are big enough are the typical hotel ballroom. I would love a barn or rustic venue that will fit all my guests. I want a beautiful place to take pictures and a place where my guest won't suffer from the weather.
Help me please.

hello!
I'm an old knottie from June08/Florida, and I recently moved all our stuff out of our old storage place in Florida. I found TONS of natural coral, mini shells and capiz shells (probably about a bog size rubbermaid container full) I have a couple of starfish, about 10 bigger pieces of coral, many sizes of capiz shells, andover 20lbs of broken coral.
I want to sell it as a lot, but will be willing to sell parts of it.
If you are interested, please email me at nani 8 nani at yahoo dot com
Thanks so much and happy planning!!!!
