Hey everyone...
I was wondering if any of you ladies plan on doing a Saturday or Sunday daytime ceremony and reception. I'm not really that concerned with getting married during the morning....I know that a 10 or 11am ceremony may be difficult to swing as far as getting ready is concerned, but not that much of an issue for me. My issue is the reception in the daytime, especially if there are windows allowing sunlight in...IDK...just seems different for a reception. I am concerned that the "feel" may be different and people won't dance...I've been looking forward to that type of celebration. I know it should bring down the costs somewhat if we do it in the daytime. If I can find a venue that I like for the outdoor/garden cermony, that also has reception space that is more like a ballroom, meaning that no sunlight is in. It may sound silly, but I have pictured it a particular way so long. My FI is fine with the daytime wedding/reception and says that he has attended a daytime wedding/reception, then recalls that the reception was during the day, but in an enclosed space without windows. If you have any suggestions for venues like this, please share. Thanks!!!

So my mom is really P*SSING ME OFF!!
A little background: My mom got a chevy Trailblazer back in 2007, and not long after my dad got a Nissan Versa. Lately my family has been having some serious financial problems (who hasn't?) - so the versa got repossessed. To make a very long story short, he ended up with a 85 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has no a/c. My father works out of town so he uses the Trailblazer because it is the more reliable car. My mom only has to use it for between 2 - 4 days every other week.

I just got back into the country after being in England since early May. Before I left, my car died and I didn't bother to get a new one. Tuesday night I went with my dad to get this 99 Ford Tarus that, among other good things, has working a/c. My mom was complaining about having to use the Jeep so I told her if she gives me some money to help me out with gas I would drive her to and from work every day (11 miles each way). I totally sympathised with her - I would hate having to show up to work all sweaty and smelly because my car has no a/c.

But it IS my car, so I don't feel she has the right to just use it all the time. I drove her to get cigarettes yesterday and this morning she borrowed my car to drop my little sister off at school. I went to spend some time with a friend I haven't seen since before I went to England, and was gone from about 3 pm - 9 pm. While I was out she called me to ask if I was coming home because she wanted to run some errands and she wanted to borrow my car. I told her I hadn't planned on coming home until after dinner and she just made an irritated noise and said "Fine." and hung up on me. I was frustrated but just rolled my eyes and got over it.

When I got home she was in the Kitchen and she gave me the money for this weekend and told me that she has to work tomorrow night. I was dissapointed that she can't make it to the GTG wtih me tomorrow, but I understand because she really needs the money. So I asked what time she gets off and it's at 9 pm. I told her I didn't know if I can pick her up because of the GTG. I know we're meeting at 5 but we might not even be finished until like 7 - 7:30 and it will take me 45 mins to get home (assuming the traffic is not terrible). She just freaked out on me and said "Well I can't drive that Jeep again, it almost gave me a heat stroke!!"

I am just so furious right now. Apparently because I happen to have a car with a/c and she doesn't, I'm supposed to just sit at home at her beck and call like a personal chauffeur. I know I told her that I can drive her to and from work all weekend, but she knew BEFORE she told her manager that she can work tomorrow night that I had plans. I am definitely going to tell her that I will drive her to work and home, but she can not say A WORD if I am late. I don't think I should have to cut my plans short just because she doesn't want to use the Jeep!!!

There are so many gorgeous outdoor venues in Atlanta and I've got tons of second choices if I need to have my wedding in Atlanta but since we live closer to Augusta, does anyone have any recommendations for outdoor venues near Augusta? We are having a "renaissance" themed wedding so an outdoor garden or forest type area would be right up our alley.

Hey everyone!!

Ok, so now that we have narrowed it down to the Atlanta and surrounding areas....I have located several venues that I was interested in. It is pretty difficult because I reside in FL and my FI will be in Iraq during the first half of the planning. Anywho, I want an outdoor venue for the ceremony, garden specifically, and have located some including Little Gardens, Flint Hill, and a few other similar venues more on the inclusive side(any detailed input on these would be great.) However, my FI has recently suggested that he may want us to use a wedding planner who coordinated a friend's wedding, who suggests a venue that is pretty much DYI where outside vendors could be used. Oh...did I mention that she does not reside in GA, which concerns me. To me, it kind of defeats the purpose of a planner because I "assumed" that this person should have a working relationship with different vendors in the area, otherwise we would be doing the same thing and my work would not be as stress-less as I hoped it would be. Maybe I'm wrong....let me know if you have experienced this and know something different. Other than that...I am pretty much set on a mostly inclusive outdoor-garden venue, indoor reception that is "budget friendly" for about 100 or so guests. Looking to get married September 2012. Also, is anyone familiar with Payne-Corley or the Carl House?
Thanks for reading...I know I'm probably all over the place with this one!

Sorry girls, I just need to vent! So I am trying to cordinate my move so that everything will be delivered right after we get married and fly back to our new apt. But, I am being told no there is no way possible to deliver all my things and furniture until after the honeymoon....OK, why not? Even if they pick everything up the week before the wedding and it sits in storage a few days, why can't I schedule a time on the day I want for them to deliver it to me? I'm moving to New York, he's already up there, so now we just have to get my things up there! and packing is frustrating! Right after the wedding we are spending the night in Atlanta and then flying out the next day. The plan is to spend a few days in our new place, unpacking and packing for the honeymoon and then leave 4 days later. And it costs so much to move things!!! I'm trying to get rid of what I can and it's still going to be a tremendous amount! I haven't even booked a moving company yet b/c I don't know who to go with! Does anyone know of a good moving company that isn't going to go through my boxes or treat me dishonestly?

How many guests do/did you plan on having? I already put a deposit down... but then I started thinking about the parking lot... and I recall it being fairly small.

If you have already gotten married there, was there enough parking for your guests? If not, where did they park? If you haven't gotten married there yet, do you think you're going to have parking issues there?

Maybe I'm just over thinking it... or maybe I'm just recalling it being smaller than it is?

Thanks in advance!!! :)
