The people at Catering and Events Consultants must be seriously thick! I just recieved this email today:

While this seems like a typical and faily unoffensive email, it has really irritated me. Read the past emails I've exachanged with her to understand why (my emails are in bold, hers are in italics just to clarify):

At the Atrium/Flint Hill?

I went to their Spring one back in March, I had literally JUST booked The Atrium and therefore JUST started my planning. I went with my fiance' then. This time, I'm bringing my sister (MOH), niece and one of my BMs so we can look more at the details.

So, in deciding a few things, here's what i"m thinking for my wedding cake. Since my fiance doesn't really like cake (whole other story) does anyone know of anyone who'll make a small, dazzingly beautiful cake in ATL that doesn't cost over $200? What we want to do is have a small cake for display, and when it comes to cake-cutting time, take the cake in the back and have the caterers cut up a sheet cake for everyone to nosh. Publix, baby. So that way we're spending $200 on the display cake and maybe another $100 for cake for everyone else, so our guests faces (and my Dad's wallet) will be happy!

What to put in gift bags for out of town guests! Need ideas!

I need ideas of what to put in gift bags for our out of town guests. My fiance and I have "debated" over water bottles. He thinks we should not have custom labels. He said guests will want a name brand water. Our wedding is in Atlanta. I immediately thought of Georgia Peanuts! He said no because our they will get peanuts on the plane ride down.

He thought of wine bottles from a winery we visited last weekend. I think it would be too expensive and clumsy. We are doing chocolates at the reception so we do not want to include more chocolate in the guest bags.

I NEED IDEAS! Please provide your suggestions.

hey all,

i am getting married next march and am trying to find a nice venue. i am having a DIY rustic/vintage wedding with the help of my family so i don't really need anything "all-inclusive" just a place that is nice to rent for the day. anyone have any suggestions? i only have about $800 to spend on a venue (sorry, i'm in college if that explains anything) and am having a hard time finding somewhere that is cheap but still very nice. i would love to have something outdoors like by a lake or on a farm or something if that helps. thanks all and happy planning :)

Bridal Shop Review

I went to J Andrews Bridal last week to determine my "bridal style" and I had a great experience. They had a number of reasonably prices dresses from Maggie Sottoro (sp?), Allure, and Paloma Blanca. The bridal consultants had great vision, were very supportive, and allowed me to try on an unlimited number of dresses - I purposely went during a time that the salon wasn't busy. I'd reccomend J Andrews bridal to anyone dress shopping in the Peachtree city area!

(Sort of wedding-related.)

I won a four pack of tickets to see "Bridesmaids" at The Fox on Saturday and a $100 Spa Sydell gift certificate. The lovely promos guy at the radio station said, "you can just come right in, and we'll give you the prize." Easy enough.

I do Mapquest and Google Maps, and they both tell me where I need to go.

Seeing that it's only 9 miles away from my place of employment in Smyrna, I venture out for a "quick lunch."

Some things I notice as I get closer to downtown:

1. The roads SUCK.

2. The traffic lights (those that are operational) SUCK. There was one that the green light had been busted out so you had to GUESS when it turned green based on the traffic on the other side of the road! (Yes, I called it in, and they told me, "we got a work order on that already." Then friggin' fix it!)

3. Forget about street signs. You're just supposed to know where you are, I suppose. (Had to make two U-turns as I turned on the wrong street - wasn't marked, and my odometer read that I had reached my turn.)

4. There is no parking where you need parking to be (not uncommon.)

5. None of the buildings are marked. There are no street numbers, no "businesses located here," etc. Nothing!

So after driving for two hours and fourteen minutes (getting lost twice including praying that I was headed in the right direction!) I finally got on the correct road (because my friggin' directions were telling me to turn right on it, and it was a one-way street so that right would be going against traffic.) Yay - there's still hope!

Nope.

I start counting down (on the buildings that ARE marked,) and I get to one...and I expect the next one will be where I need to go??????? Uh - no. It would be the address after the one I was looking for.

I said "darn it all to he**. I need to go back to work."

So much for those tickets and gift certificate.

Hello ladies! I was wondering if anyone has gone dress shopping and/or purchased a dress from Le Dress Boutique in Buckhead. (Le Dress is a luxury consignment wedding dress boutique that boasts that 95% of their dresses are actually new with tags and never worn). Can anyone confirm this? It almost seems too good to be true, considering how many high end dresses they have at such wonderful prices! If you have been there, how was your experience? Thanks in advance girls!

Well, not quite the wake up in a sweat nightmare, but I had a stressed out dream last night.

I dreamed that I was getting ready and I turn around to see all my bridesmaids wearing beautiful dresses in a tropical red color. I was so shocked because I told them they could have any dress they want as long as it's bridesmaidy and BLUE! I asked why the hell they all were wearing red and they replied "Your JR Bridesmaid decided that she didn't like blue so now we're all in red." (might I add in here that my Jr. Bridesmaid is really super spoiled lol)

Then I realized that I never got around to getting a bouquet made so someone went to walmart really quick and came back with a half wilted bunch of flowers from the reduced section. They took so long that I carried those with me still in the plastic wrapping.

I woke up and told FI about it and he just laughed at me and called me a nerd lol. What things go wrong in everyone else's dreams?
