Dress shopping has me on the verge of tears

I need help and I hope someone can give me some. My wedding is scheduled for June 25. According to everyone I talk to I should have found and ordered my dress MONTHS ago. Ok well I hate shopping and shopping for this dress is making me think I want to wear jeans down the aisle. I am not a prissy girl and have only been caught in a dress maybe three times in the past 20 years. But since I am getting married I thought it would be the perfect time to knock everyone dead and wear a SEXY dress. I am currently in a size 16-18 which in wedding dresses translates to about a 20 or so. All these numbers in the fashion world translate to one thing... plus size clothing. I am working on losing weight, but I haven't reached my goal yet and since I have to get a dress now not later I am having to try on "plus size" dressees. I have I decided I want a dress with the back out, and here in lies my problem. I can't find one store that carries a backless sample in my size. All the stores are quick to tell me that I can order the dress, but I would be a fool to spend that kind of money on a dress that I have never tried on. I have even started looking at evening/prom gowns but have had no luck finding one in my size to try on. Does anyone know of a shop that carries any backless samples in an 18 or up that I may be able to try on? The links to some of the styles I like are below.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a Maggie Sottero or an Allure gown, I just want to try on a backless dress so I can make sure I will look good in it before I fork over more than I have ever spent on one outfit for ONE DAY. If anyone can suggest a shop they think could help me I would be so appreciative. I would hate to be the only person at my wedding wearing jeans.

Hi there
Have any of you looked into having cup cakes intead of a cake? Publix does them and I have some preliminary contact info, but it looks like a cup cake stand is needed and delivery might have to happen from Alpharetta (for a Decatur wedding).

I like the idea of cupcakes, but then I wonder if we're getting into other details (stand, boxes, etc.)

My boyfriend of two years proposed to me this past weekend while we were vacationing in Savannah! We are very excited and feel so blessed! I am eager to start planning, but we are new to the area and not all that familiar with our options. We are looking to hold our ceremony in a historic church in downtown Atlanta. So far I’ve looked at The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, but I’d like a few selections to choose from. Does anyone know of any beautifully adorned churches in the downtown area that allow wedding ceremonies? Denomination is not an issue. I’d like to narrow down venues before all else since I have very selective dates in spring of 2012. Thanks!

Hello! My finance and I thought we were set with Affairs to Remember catering, but they are pretty expensive! We are now looking at Black Tie Catering. They gave us a GREAT quote. I know they have a lot of site options and their package looks really good. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions based on personal experience about Lake Lanier as a wedding venue? Chateau Elan is one of the venues that my fiance and I are considering for our wedding. I had read a few reviews where people were really unhappy with the wedding coordinator that they had there. However, I have heard that there is now a new coordinator. So I wanted to know if anyone has had a wedding at Chateau Elan since the change? How was the experience? Also, how's the food there? Any input on this venue would be really appreciated!!

Pretty Places for an Indoor Romatic Wedding

Hi! We are wanting to get married inside somewhere with lots of candles, in the evening, and have a very romantic wedding. The problem is that I don't know very many places in North GA to do this. A lot of what I have found is outside for spring time. I would love to find some place that would be perfect for fall/winter, evening, and look gorgeous with candles in North GA.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm starting to get a little frustrated and overwhelmed because I don't know where to look. We live in TN but family is in Atl so we want to do it there. It's hard when you don't really know the area or any hidden treasures :)

Tuscan/Italian Wedding

I'm looking to have a Tuscan/Italian country wedding in March of next year. But my speed bump is finding a place that looks cool that I dont have do overhaul with decorations to make it look remotely italian. I've found some winerys/vineyard type places, but there are way too many stipulations/room rental policies, etc. Does anyone know of an old italian venue that can host a wedding AND reception of about 100 people? AND wont cost me my arm, leg and neighbor's toes?

Hey yall, just wanted to give you all a heads up that Priscillas of Boston is having their sample sale this weekend. It starts tomorrow and it's sooooooooooo worth it. I bought both my dresses there, one short Melissa Sweet and one long lace and satin dress from the Vineyard Collection. The sample sizes there are generally an 8 or 10 and the dresses are in really great condition. Mine were both over 75% off the original price.
