Any Peacock theme brides

I am getting Married in August and I have a Peacock theme. I chose to use Sapphire blue and Grass green with Platinum sliver, I am having issues with save the date choices and invites. Does any one have a suggestion without going to far away from the peacock theme. I tried Zazzle.com but could not find anything I liked please help

If money were not an option, would you have a destination wedding? If yes - where would you go? If no - why not?

I wouldn't have a destination wedding. My family is very important to me and even if I paid for everyones plane tickets and hotel, some people just wouldn't be able to go. I already have a TON of OOT guests, but it would be easier for them to make a weekend trip from New Orleans than a week long trip somewhere exotic. Plus, I love the North Georgia Mountains, so that would be my dream wedding anyways : )

I know we have thrown this idea back and forth a couple times recently, and now it is time to put it into action.
I'd like to plan a dinner and drinks for the ATL Knotties. Somewhere we can all meetup and have some dinner and drinks and put some faces to names. I was thinking the lst weekend of the month if that works for everyone.

FI & I love our music, it is one of the most important things to me in life.
Between the 2 of us we love All varieties....country, rock, rap, pop, old country, old/classic rock, hard rock, alternative, heavy metal, r&b, soul, blues, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, bluegrass, dance, old school rap.

While I have a lot of ideas in mind, & kind of a mental list made, I have started putting anything down on paper yet.
I'm not worried so much about my choices, as far as offending people or anything (i know that sounds super harsh and selfish, but if im going to play music then im going to have stuff that I like...but of course just out of common courtesy i prob wouldnt play anything too harsh anyways -haha-), but I sometimes find myself going blank when I really start thinking deep about it.

I want wedding or couple-related songs of course, but also one to have fun to that dont necessarily HAVE to be mushy or relationship related.

SOO...does anyone have song suggestions in ANY of the above categories, or other categories?! (multiple songs/artists/categories is fine with me).
Specific songs&artists pls.

Had my dress choices narrowed down to 2 back in August. Went back for my 2nd appt today & picked out my dress!! Got it ordered & paid half on it! So excited! Now all I have to do (in terms of Wedding dress) is lose a little weight & tone up! Great way to start off the new year as far as wedding plans go! Even though I still have a million & 1 things to do!

Here it is! You can see the back of it in the mirror! & I ordered it in white white, I think this is kind of an ivoryish tone.

On a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being not at all and 10 being OCD, how organized are you?

I'd probably be a 2 or a 3. I have a little box where all of my wedding related receipts and papers go, I have a planner which I use for both wedding and non wedding related appointments and such, and I have a little photo album where I put in clip outs from magazines that I really like and might want to revisit. I don't have a specific space for all of that stuff, but I do at least have a space for it : )

Is quitting someone's wedding party just as bad as kicking someone out of your wedding party? And for this situation, let's assume the BM isn't quitting because of financial strain or a difficult personal life (such as losing a parent, getting divorced, etc.)

I would say that unless the BM lost her job and can't afford to be in the WP, or is going through some heavy stuff in her life and just wants to sit back for a while to figure stuff out, it's just as bad to quit a WP as it is for a bride to kick a girl out. Just like when a bride kicks a girl out, quitting the WP could be a friendship breaker.

My FI and I started doing our registry together, but we have to do it online since he's in England. I use skype and they have a screen sharing program that allows him to see everything I'm doing on my screen, so that's how we pick things out together. But he's so....dumb. If I want a cute monkey shaped potato peeler, he says "I'm just going to be so mad if someone spends $15 on a stupid potato peeler instead of something else we need" and if I say something he wants to add is too expensive (such as the $130 electric toothbrush he wanted to put on there) he gets mad and says "I don't want something crap." Grrrrr. And the WORST part was this:

me: "Ooooh, lets register for a Crock Pot!"

him: "Why? We don't need one."

me: "We're not going to live with my parents forever honey..."

him: "And I also don't want an apartment full of junk we're not going to use for years."

(ten minutes later)

him:"Oh, I know. Let's register for that thing your dad makes his pot roasts in."

me:"Oh, you mean a CROCK POT?!?!"

Like, why is he telling me he doesn't want to register for something when he doesn't even know what it is? Grrr. On top of all of that, the program we're using made my computer really slow and the website was going really slow, so I ended up with the biggest headache imaginable and a cranky FI. So now we've decided that I'm doing the registry by myself <_<.

Need advice on wedding date

Hi knotties! I found a venue that I like, and so long as my fiance likes it, we want to set a date! They don't have the date we really wanted (October 8th) or the dates the week before/after that, but they have September 24 and October 22. I want September 24, but fiance wants October 22. Basically, it's going to be an outside ceremony and reception, probably starting around 5 o'clock. My fiance thinks it's going to be too hot in September, but I think late October would be too cold! So, did any of you get married around one of those dates? Go to a wedding around one of those dates? Have a really good memory on how it felt on those dates in the evening?

Is the wedding Rehearsal necessary???

I will be using the same location for ceremony and reception. The coordinator at the venue says we have 7 hours for both and there will be a $350/hour charge for every additional hour. I really wanted an after-party, but my fiance says that will be too expensive if we do that, and I kind of agree. The coordinator says we can have additional time if we dont have a rehearsal and use the rehearsal time the day of the wedding. It sounded like a reasonable compromise at the time, but I'm worried about things not going too smoothly the day of. She assures me that she will make sure everyone knows what they are doing. What do you ladies think?

Hey. I've just recently got engaged, and I have tons of time before my actual wedding date. I'm going ahead and getting a head start on my wedding planning. My fiance's mom does will not go into a church, and it's very important for me and him to have her at our wedding. I am willing to go anywhere in Georgia and maybe even some of the bordering states. I need a place where I can do the ceremony and reception. We both have big families so I need the place to accomodate a large number of people. Just to be cautious, I've estimated between 300-400 but the problem is neither of our families have a lot of money to spend on our wedding so I need somewhere affordable. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you! =]

Deploying Bride and Groom

Both my fiance and I are headed overseas in the next three weeks. We will be deployed together. We won't be back until November. We planned our wedding date for June 16, 2012. I have already picked out my wedding colors but that's it. Its going to be so hard trying to plan a wedding overseas...then come back to the states and try to put everything together....does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I would gladly appreciate it :)

Elegant Wedding Venue Ballrooms??

Hi!

I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago , but I'm already going crazy trying to find a wedding venue. I'm looking for an indoor ballroom for a seated reception dinner and dance floor that will hold around 300 people. I'm mostly looking at Spring Hall and the Biltmore ballrooms right now, but I wanted to know if any one else had other similar suggestions?

Also, if they allow me to bring my own alcohol that would be a plus too! (which Spring Hall does allow)

I think the only people you should feel obligated to add a plus one for are the people in your wedding party and the people coming that won't know any of the other single people.

What did everyone do for the holidays?

When we were younger we would go to New Orleans to see my mom's family and they had this tradition where one of the men of the family would put on this Santa suit and pass out presents to everyone on Christmas Eve. Even though we've stopped going to New Orleans for Christmas, we still open them on Christmas Eve after dinner. On Christmas day we had lasagna and several snow ball fights : )
