I just discovered that Sweet Tomatoes caters! For $10 pp you can get
Caesar Salad Asiago
Chicken Wonton Salad
2 Cold Pasta Salads
Baked Potatoes & Toppings
Choice of hot soup AND hot pasta
Assorted Muffins
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Tea
Lemonade
Plates, Napkins, Utensils, Cups
Deliver and Set Up
Then there is another caterer that offers a package of 4 items for $10 pp and you can even choose carving stations. So I thought with the stuff from Sweet Tomatoes and ordering only meat from the other caterer I would have a pretty good buffet style dinner for my guests.
This is seriously just an idea I came up with when I saw that Sweet Tomatoes does catering, and I don't even have a venue yet so I have no clue if they'll allow me to bring in my own catering. Just wondered what your thoughts are on having more than 1 caterer.

Best Month for a GA Winery Wedding

I am looking at dates in early November, early April, mid-May for a wedding at a North Georgia winery. Does anyone have any recommendation about what month(s) provide the best setting/are the most beautiful? I was concerned about dead vines in the fall, and for April, I'm worried about rain and the possibility that the vines will not be blooming nicely yet.

Old County Court House On the square & venue suggestions

Has anyone ever been to a wedding here at the Old county court House on the square in Dekalb? We were planning a beach wedding but due to some of our family being seriously ill we have to change venues. :( And I am just a little frustrated. I dont have a large budget (7K) so any ideas would be welcomed. I tried roswell river landing but my preferred month is booked. I really would like a place where we could bring our own alcohol and can have the ceremony and reception in one venue.

I'm getting married in Omaha, NE and the minister I've chosen requires us to have pre-marital counseling. My church denied us because my fiance and I live together, which I think is crap but whatever.

The day was a good one overall. Some of the details I wanted executed didn't ultimately end up coming to fruition. That irked a little. BUT, my photographers Jon and Ashley at www.fixedfocal.com/">www.fixedfocal.com were AMAZING! They totally made my day. They really did. I can now sit back and reflect on these special moments they were able to capture.

I would highly recommend them if you're in the Atlanta area. Anyway, here are a couple of sneak peek photos!

Hey, everyone. I'm brand new to the community(this is my first post). I've been engaged for a while(I guess almost 2 years now) but we'd planned to have the wedding in the fall of next year, so I've just recently gotten serious about planning the wedding.
On top of just having started planning, we also recently moved. We're now living just outside of Atlanta and I'm starting to freak out about the wedding venue and was hoping some people had some ideas they could share!
Firstly, we don't have a very high budget so that's definitely a matter.
Second, we want it outside.
Third, I need a lot of flexibility. Most places have very specific requirements and there are a lot of things I feel I definitely need that can't be made to fit a lot of places limitations, those things being:

I want a night wedding, maybe starting at sunset and the reception going late.
I neeed candles.
My brother in law is a chef, and we've always wanted him to cater our wedding.
On top of that, my sister bakes as a hobby and we've also always wanted her to make our cake.
We would like an open bar with a lot of choices.
We've considered hiring a cigar roller so it's definitely preferable that we choose a location that allows smoking, but not neccesary.

I understand that most classic wedding venues won't allow for all of my requirements, so I definitely need help. Does anyone know of any pretty places outside that either host wedding generally or could if needed?? I definitely need help with creativity!

So first of all I just wanted to say I had an absolutely amazing experience at Bride Beautiful. I worked with Kristen and would HIGHLY recommend going there and requesting her as your consultant, she was so helpful with my dress, and my mom found her dress there too actually.

AND... I FOUND MY DRESS!! I absolutely love it, it was less than I intended to spend and the sample fit me so I got a really good idea of what it is going to look like without all those stupid clips. The pic is in Ivory, and mine will be white.

Alcohol Prices

My venue is requiring us to use their beverage service. My wedding is on a Sunday evening so I dont anticipate people drinking as much as they would on a Saturday but the venue wants to charge $10/person for the first hour and $7/person for each additional hour with a 4 hour minimum. That is a minimum of $31/person PLUS 4 bar tenders at $25/hr. Brining my alcohol bill for 200 ppl to $33/person on a sunday night! This seems excessive but i am having trouble comparing it to other venues. Anyone out there have some comprable numbers for me so i can go in armed and ready to negotiate?

Any one use Proof of the Pudding recently?

Hi Ladies! This is my first post, and I am writing out of somewhat deparaition!

We have been plannning to have our reception at a gallery in Atlanta. We live in NY and are planning the wedding from up there (I am from Atlanta). It has been a while since we have been to the gallery, but we knew we liked it so we paid a deposite. We came to Atlanta last weekend and saw how much the area has changed, and the "courtyard" ended up being a parking lot! We have limited time (Oct. 23) and a pretty limited budget.

Any Ideas for a girl with a budget, looking for a unique fun wedding reception venue? I would love somewhere with an outdoor space in the city,!

Just wanted to find out which hotels you guys are going to be advising your OOT guests to stay at. We are getting married at the Piedmont Room, so I'm looking for a couple hotels in midtown--two different price points ideally. We have a lot of OOTown-ers coming.

If you found a good deal, please share! Also, hotels with shuttle service are a major plus!

where to take engagement photos

I grew up in Atlanta; FI grew up in Kennesaw. Wanted to do engagement photos, but don't know where. Should it be a place that has good photo ops and scenery or a place around the area in which we currently live. I was thinking about Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield because it's common grounds for us and because I bet the gently rolling hills and fields would be lovely.

How do most people choose where they want to have their photos taken?

Okay ladies... neither my fiancé or I are wine or champagne drinkers.. there is our problem....what in the world to do during our toasts. We thought about some well disguised mixed drink that looked like wine or champagne but we were unsure. Anyone else run into this problem or have any ideas??
