I am coming down from Knoxville to try a dress. I really feel like this is THE dress, but Atlanta is the closest that anyone has one in store to try. With that being said, in the event that this turns out to not be THE ONE. Does anyone else have any suggestions of places I could check some out to make my trip worth-while? I really am looking for something a little different maybe a shorter length dress. The one I'm coming specifically to try is tea length. So if there is anywhere that sells unique or quirky ones, that would be ideal. Thanks!

Ok, so I am new to the knot. It seems like the discussion board is very helpful! But I have been searching for a venue for 2 weeks straight now. I have literally been to about ten, and only one has made me see "Wow." Unfortunately, the price made me say wow : ( too. The venue was 1,000, but the minimum for food was $16, 500. There is no way I am paying that much for food. I have a honeymoon to go on and a home to purchase. So, with that being said, my budget is 8000 including food. If anyone knows a venue (with water if possible), please let me know!

I only need the length taken up, other than that my dress fits me like a glove! :) I work in Buckhead and live in Vinings if anyone has any suggestions. Wedding Nightmares

We all have them, lets share them XDD.

Here is mine - and I would say I have it at least twice a month!

My grandparents built their home instead of buying one, and while the work was going on they lived in a trailer on the edge of their land. In my dream I'm in that trailer relaxing on the couch and I look at the calendar and my wedding is in a few hours! I go outside and everyone is sitting in reclining beach chairs in the overgrown/weedy grass. I'm wearing a denim overall dress (similar to one I had when I was about 10) with no shoes and I realize I don't have a boquet. My grandmother goes to the random flower bearing tree and breaks off a branch and hands it to me. The reception (on the other side of the trailer) is a long plastic folding table with one tealight sitting on a leaf at each end loaded with subway party platters and no drinks.

I usually don't even sleep through the entire thing LOL!

Will David's Bridal negotiate?

After spending countless hours sweating it out in high-end boutiques over the last few weeks, I found THE dress last night at where other than....dun dun dunhhhh- David's Bridal :) I went in with low expectations so you can imagine my delight when I found the one and it fit like a glove and that feeling that it was right just hit me!

I plan on going back in on Monday to try it on again. It is a little higher than my price point even with the 10% off sale they have going right now. I am wondering if any of you have had luck negotiating the price of a dress at David's Bridal? I know you can do it at independent boutiques, but I didn't know if trying to do it at David's Bridal would be like trying to negotiate the price of a pair of shoes at DSW since it's a chain.

Any advice is much appreciated!!!

Rehersal Dinner Venue

My Fiance and I are getting married at a church in Lawrenceville, GA and our reception is at the Evergreen in Stone Mountain, where many of our guests will be staying as well. I need a rehersal dinner spot that is either close to Stone Mountain or close to the church off of l Gloster Road in Lawrenceville. I have a ton of out-of-town family coming so the rehersal dinner will probably have 75-125 guests.

I am getting married Sept 18, 2010. It will be an outside ceremony/ reception in Canton, GA (at my grandmother's house). I am looking for a photographer that is good but, doesn't charge a crazy fee. I need someone reasonable.

I'm kind of nervous about rain but, don't know if a tent will fit in the yard(tons of trees)
Does anybody have any ideas on how I can do this?

Also, my FI is Mexican and we want to hire a Mariachi band to play but, I can't find one. Anybody know of any?

Hey ladies. I am not from Atlanta, I'm a MOH trying to throw my girlfriend a bachelorette party from Pittsburgh. I have NEVER even been to Atlanta, so all the help you can give would be awesome!

I'm looking to do a spa thing during the day. Nothing to expensive. Then take her to dinner - somewhere that will acknowledge that she is a bachelorette (we did mine at the Hard Rock in Pittsburgh - it was great, they called me out in the middle of the room with a mic and everything). Then I want to find some sort of Country style bar, nothing with too crazy. I was thinking about that place called Opera for after the country bar.. then take her to Coronet club.

I would like to stick to the same area- Northern Atlanta, if that is Buckhead? I'm not sure.

My FI is British and lives in Engalnd with his family. I'm over for a visit and am staying with him and my FMIL - this is the first time we've ever been able to actually talk wedding. My FSIL has a friend getting married in a few months, and one night over dinner she was telling us how the bride is only putting 3 bottles of wine at each table of six(1 red, 1 white, and 1 rose) and they were completely dismayed!

At this point I started to get this feeling of dread, because I'm not having alcohol at my wedding (except for the champagne toast). The reason for this: my mother is a recovering alcoholic. Every special occasion of mine has been ruined because she got drunk. She's become a lot better lately, only drinking on special occasions - and my way of thinking is that if there isn't any alcohol for her to get drunk with, then she won't upset me on my wedding day.

I'm starting to have second thoughts, though, because of how devestated everyone seemed to be about LIMITED alcohol - am I going to make my reception less enjoyable for them by excluding it? And if so, here is my dilema - without alcohol his family is unhappy. With alcohol I run the risk of my mother getting trashed and ruining a part of my special day. I feel akward talking to FMIL about it because I hate to give a bad impression of my mother. I REALLY don't want to talk to my mother about it because she'll start to cry and ask me why I'm so ashamed of her and start calling herself a bad mother (so basically - she'll seriously overreact).

Any suggestions?

Hi. I have ten damask custom table runners that i used for my wedding in April. They are all clean and fit either 8 or 10 person round tables. Questions FROM a boudoir photographer

OK, I hope I am not breaking any rules as have been happily married for more the 12 years. I am a boudoir photographer covering the metro Atlanta area and while traditionally my clients have been celebrating an anniversary I am seeing more and more brides, I have even group shots / parties recently. So to me this is a shift in business and I wanted to know what some of the wonderful brides have to say about it.

What are you looking for as a bride in Boudoir photography?

Would a more bridal theme be appealing, like including your dress or maybe shots in your bridal lingerie?

I would already suspect group discounts may be appealing?

I do some couples work, but is the surprise more important?

Anything else come to mind then please feel free, I am interested in your thoughts.

Wow! I'm pricing out people, and this seems like an unreasonable cost. Average is $150 for the bride and $65 per bridesmaid... but then you scroll down further, and they're offering half days of makeup for print and photo shoots for $250? I'm totally confused, can somebody help me to understand why this is so expensive? Or perhaps recommend someone that's a little more reasonable?
