I recently went to A wedding here in Atlanta. It was beautiful however the BP was the best I have ever attended. Instead of just getting tipsy : ) playing a few games and giving presents before hitting the club we had a makeup artist host a Makeup Bar. A makeup bar is a party with drinks/food and etc except there is a Makeup artist that comes to you and does everyone's makeovers and gives lessons before you go out. None of us were big makeup fans until we learned how easy and fun it is to play dress up once in a while. We took tons of pictures and it was a blast. I am planning on using this as my own BP idea. I know this isn't really a question but I wanted to share this new idea with the people who have helped me plan my wedding and made it easier. Hey y'all!

This is my first post! I'm getting married in October 2011 in Athens, GA. I'm on the verge of committing fully to my venue: The Foundry Park Inn. I want to have my ceremony and reception there, and I'm thinking of having around 125 guests. Has anyone here had any experience with Foundry Park? Its a beautiful site but I want to make sure that the staff is wonderful as well and don't have a glaring reputation for mistakes :)

Also, can anyone recommend a photographer in the Athens area? I have a artsy aesthetic, and its hard to find a photographer who has the same vision :)

Has anyone used Carole Parks Catering? The reviews online at yelp.com and kudzu.com are mixed and they are one of the preferred caterers. Their menu sounds good, but I don't want a nightmare. Anyone have experience?

We are planning our renewal for August of next year. A newly engaged, very close relative has decided to have her wedding next year. We will have some of the same important people involved and in our wedding parties. Our family members cannot afford to come here for both events. She has not booked anything, we have an appointment to book our venue later this month.

Mom thinks because my event is more definite, that I should continue with my plans. Even though we are renewing, this is our "first wedding" too. So I'm torn, I don't want to be selfish or take away from her day.

What would you all do?

King Plow Arts Center

Hi,

Has anyone had their wedding or perhaps been to a wedding or other event at the King Plow Arts Center? What did you think about the venue, the staff, food, etc? I understand Bold American is the exclusive caterer.

My FI and parents are vising the space in a few weeks, but any input from people who have dealt with the facility or attended an event at the facility would be great.

Thank you to all the ladies that have posted their wonderful tips and wisdom to the few posts that I have made. My freak-out I realize now was a bit of "jumping the gun" so to speak.

We have officially booked our venue, and have a date. I'll be Mrs. Z on April 30th, 2011. Our venue is perfect! Everyone we have worked with there so far has been awesome. Jessie, our wedding consultant, was the dream & blessing I needed to help ease my mind that everything, in fact, was going to be ok. She has helped me find vendors, and caterers, help me create a budget, and convince the parents this was THE place for us.

Free Flowers in Canton

I have several hydrangea bushes that are loaded with flowers. Most are powder or baby blue but I have three bushes that have a deep purple hydrangea with a hint of blue in the middle of the petals. I was going to bring these down to Florida for my daughter's wedding but unfortunately, our truck was so full of stuff, I could not even fit a bucket of flowers in it. I would love for some other bride to use them for their bridal shower or rehearsal dinner. The blooms will last another week or two as long as I keep them hydrated. Here is a few pictures. When to do makeup and hair trial

It's about three months till my wedding, and I have some free time over the next month. Do you think it's too early to do my makeup/hair trial? I want to have time to make sure I like the people I choose, and I just want to do it now because now I have time. Do you think it's too far in advance? I noticed on the Formal Faces site they suggest a month to two weeks before the wedding. I'd really like to get this taken care of asap.

Off Beat Atlanta Wedding Pic Locations

Hey everyone. I'm looking for off beat wedding pic locations. I've looked into The World of Coke, but you have to pay. I called. :( I can't afford to pay for everyone in the BP and the photogs to take some pictures for an hour.

I've been in contact with the Zoo and I'm waiting to hear back from them - but this isn't my first choice.

I'm also looking at restaurants that have a cool and unique look, like Johnny Rockets or something like that. I would really love a fair, but the ones I've seen are too far out for me, like Cummings.

Can you think of anything that would be a great backdrop for pics? Like in Cabbagetown or Sweet Auburn? I want to stick with something urban and/or kitschy.

Ok so I am at the point in my planning adventure where I need to find a photographer & a videographer. Preferably a vendor that does both and has a ton of experience.

I looked into a couple companies that do both, though either their prices where through the rafters or their work and experience was questionable.

One company I like is Bella Photography, though since they are a national company I really don't get the feel that I will be working with just ONE specific artist.

Any suggestions out there girls?
