Here are two parks I spotted that have grassy areas...

The one before the Ka'anapali area is called: Hanakao'o park

The ones in Kihei along South Kihei Road have huge grassy areas, some shaded by trees. Kamaole Beach Park II and III looked really nice and spacious. Kamaole Beach Park III has larger grassy areas than II. Do a Google image search and you'll see...

I came up with two theories:
1) Swam with your clothes above your arms as to not get it wet, toweled off
2) Walked the perimeter with your attire hiked up a bit as to not get it wet

FI's thinking Kauai because it's new to both of us, and we've heard it's just as pretty as Maui but maybe more secluded. I'm maybe leaning towards Maui just a bit, but that's only because I've been there before (once) and feel it would be easy to plan...but Kauai seems awesome too!

All told, we plan on spending about 10 days in Hawaii. A possible compromise I thought of would be to fly to Maui and get married there, but then go to Kauai mid-trip. I think I had heard once that the seas around Kauai are rougher than Maui. Is this the case? Our favorite activity is snorkeling, but one of our kids is still small and wouldn't do well in strong currents.

Got back from my trip to Maui and found the remainder of our refund in the mail. However, before I even opened the envelope, I noticed that it was barely closed! Upon opening it up, only 2 small portions of the adhesive were wet/licked prior to closing. See pic:


How careless, right?! And to top it off, the check was just in the envelope all by itself, folded in half. Not concealed whatsoever. WOW...just wow.

Now that I've received all that I could get back and now that everything is settled, for those who have been following my story, the wedding planner to avoid is:

Gabrielle Longhi of Blue Sky Weddings

That's right, Longhi. I think she must be associated with Longhi's restaurant, which I've never been to, mainly because they don't have great reviews, surprise surprise. So...why go? The reason I know this is because one of the addresses to her business is the same as Longhi's. When you do a search on Google, it's the first address that pops up in Google Maps.

This weekend, I smelled the most beautiful fragrance.  I would have loved to wear it for our wedding, but I didn't know about it (actually don't think it was even released yet).  Bvlgari Omnia Coral -- a mix of hibiscus, pomegranate, and citrus.  A fresh, tropical, summery scent that's pretty without being old lady.  Thought some of you may be interested in a sniff if you don't already have a wedding scent picked out!

It's been a long time since I've posted or even lurked!!  Hope everyone is doing well :)

I was wondering if any of you have had dress regret????

I fell in love with a dress in 2005-2006.  It was the last dress I tried on during my first bridal appointment in 2010, and I was breathless!!!  I had the crying, jumping up and down, THIS IS THE ONE!!!!! Moment.  I was able to purchase the dress in March 2011 (the designer still makes it!) before I had to move across the country (I worried that my new home state wouldn't have the dress).  I wondered if it was too early, but I felt like my gut told me that IT WAS THE ONE.  Problem is that my wedding is not until this FALL... and now I feel like I don't love the dress any more and I feel somewhat panicky that since my wedding is 5 months away, this may be my LAST CHANCE to get a different dress... if I should so choose.

I am not a fan of any pastel color, hate pinks and purples too.  I don't hate on those who like these colors though.

So, this may cause a stir but I want bright green and bright orange. (not exactly neon, just bright)  I know these two colors seem strange to some people but I have found that when the right shade of both are located and placed side by side they are gorgeous.  They are fun!  Different colors make different peolple happy right?

I am trying to figure out who to have do my hair on the big day. I know dan sanchez has gotten rave reviews from some, but others didn't like him at all and had bad luck.

Has anyone had experience with any of the spas on Kaanapali (in particular Black Rock Spa at Sheraton Maui)? Any recommendations in Kaanapali or Lahaina that are much less expensive than Dan Sanchez but have had good reviews?
