Hi Ladies,
I am looking for suggestions of locations to take wedding pictures in the Schuamburg or Roselle area. We are looking for something a little more "urban" - something with brick background or something unique - I am open to suggestions! We are already taking some pictures at Busse Woods before, so the photographer said it would be great to take some more pictures with different scenery. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi knotties.

I just called our rental company to inquire about renting silver colored charger plates, and the saleswoman said they are approx 8.00 per plate!

I'm thinking about buying them from Dollar Tree and spray painting them, just wondered if anyone planned to sell theirs anytime soon to save myself the hassle.

Stressing over venue and date

So I am at my wits end, went to visit Eagle Ridge on Saturday and loved the venue. My mom, future mother-in-law, and grandma loved it. Now it seems things have changed and I am being made to look like the bad guy for choosing this place. Can anyone suggest any other great venues in the Chicagoland area that aren't banquet halls?

I am planning a December 2013 wedding, and I need ideas of places to have our wedding reception. We are on a budget, so an affordable option is necessary. I am going to look at The Seasons of Long Grove, Maravela's in Fox Lake, and Deer Run Golf Course in Mundelein/Libertyville. Do you have any other suggestions of places we could hold our reception in Lake County or any comments about the venues I am looking at? I appreciate any help!

I have looked into the Wayside Chapel in Palos and like how it has a rainy day back up plan (very VERY small chapel) but was wondering if there were any other places you have seen or been to?

Themed Weddings

I'm interested in finding out how many people are having a Themed Wedding... We're not exactly your "Traditional Couple," so we thought it would not be appropriate to have a "Traditional Wedding!"

If you're having a Themed Wedding, I'd like to know:
1. What is you theme and why is it special to you?
2. Where are you having your Ceremony / Reception to represent your theme?
3. How do you plan on celebrating / decorating for it?
4. Will your family & friends dress up / celebrate your theme with you?

You don't have to play along if you don't want, but I'm really interested to hear how you are representing your unique personalities!

We love all things Celtic (we have Irish backgrounds) and we love attending Renaissance Faires! Before we met we had both visited Ireland and we have a great love for Celtic music. We both want to visit Scotland for our honeymoon! We love dressing up for any occasion that will allow (as pirates, in kilts, etc.)!

We're having our Ceremony in October 2013 at Lake Katherine in the Anniversary Garden for our Ceremony, but we'll get photos at all of the locations there. We feel like an outdoor Handfasting Ceremony will be an amazing representation of us! We'll build our own arch using lumber and then add some fake flowers / vines and tulle. We have a 3 piece Celtic Tribal band (bagpipes & drums) that is acoustic that will be doing our music while guests are being seated. Then that combo and a fiddler will walk us down the aisle (no 'here comes the bride,' something original will be written by our friends).

Our Reception will be at Royalty West... Seeing as it is a Castle! This is quite fitting for us! Our friends that will do the music for the Ceremony are also in a 5 piece Celtic Rock Band and they will do the music for our Reception. We have friends who are in a Bellydance Tribe who will dance at the Reception! If the Hall will allow for it, we will all step outside for their signature Fire Show! These details are being worked out lol!

We know all of our friends and some of our family will participate in dressing up to represent our theme of Ren Faire. Most of them attend faires with us and some of them even work at a faire! Some of his family expressed that they are not interested in dressing up, so I am working on sending an email in the next couple of weeks to tell everyone that now is a good time to shop for cheap costumes (nearing or after Halloween) for those who are interested! I'll also let them know that there are several of us that can sew and that they should check out patterns / fabrics when they are on sale! We sign the contracts this weekend and then it all begins!

if anyone is using their photobooth, be warned that the photo strips are 2.25 x 8.5, not 2 x 8 as stated on their website. I ordered 2.25 x 8 frames based on the website info only to find out that my sample strip was too long. When I contacted them, they informed me of the real size.

My finace and I are planning on having a very small wedding ceremony (parents and siblings along with their dates) followed by a nice dinner. I was planning around the June 1 date. I'm looking for an outdoor garden type setting I'm not finding much.

I live about an hour away from Chicago (Naperville/Bolingbrook area). I've contacted Lilacia Park in Lombard but there are no Saturdays available in June and they do not hold wedding ceremonys in May. I'm not sure if it would be too hot for an outdoor wedding in July.

Any other suggested locations of parks and gardens to hold a wedding ceremony. I feel like I'm going in circles with my search so any suggestion would be great :)

We went on our engagement shoot in september at navy pier and millenium park and we could not be happier with the pictures.
