but it is very cost prohibitive. Any suggestions on where the guys could find some reasonably priced separates? Does J.Crew ever put this line on sale?

Thanks for any suggestions. My son is in the south loop, but the groomsmen are spread among city and states. A chain store would be the easiest recommendation, but they are open to any assistance at the moment (hence, his "shout out" to me).

Since this will be a second marriage for both of us, we don't want/need the traditional style wedding. Alterations recommention in Western suburbs- 7 months pregnant!

Hi! I will be a bridesmaid in my friends wedding in September and will be about 7 months pregnant by then. My bridesmaid dress was ordered many sizes too big and I also ordered an extra panel of fabric, so I'm obviously going to be needing some serious alterations done. When I got married in 2010 I got my dress altered at the store I purchased it at, and was not impressed with their level of service, so I'm looking for a recommendation for a good/reasonably priced place to get these bridesmaid alterations done in the Western suburbs. I live in Downers Grove.
I think the dress should be in in June or July...when should I call to schedule my alterations? Has anyone else been in this boat before?

Do any of you have any suggestions where I could find some for cheap/free? Do you have parts and pieces left over from your wedding that you want to get rid of? My fiance and I are looking at booking there, but I would love to hear some feedback if possible before we make it official. i'm located on the southside of chicaog, mount greenwood-beverly area. im looking for a good thrift store to pick up some silver picture frames, bouquet vases, etc.
everyone says to look at thrift stores. there's only one around here that i can think of and it's horrible.

Hi everyone! I have been looking up prices for whitle tulle, and so far I have not been able to find a reasonable price. I've seen some fabric stores charging $70 for 54" wide for 40 ft of it. I need about 5 rolls of that. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I bought my dress there and had a GREAT experience...

But I need to have my dress altered now... and I was hoping to start 6 weeks out... well they insist that I start 8 weeks out... which is now and they said that if I wait any longer I would need to take my dress somewhere else.

Now isn't 8 weeks out too early?!?!? I'm afraid that I'm going to go for my fitting now and then have changes in my waist and need to get it taken more.

I'm just trying to see how this worked out for other brides that purchased from there... also are the alterations prices pretty competitive or are they outrageously more expensive???

Last question... does anyone have any reccomendations for a great bridal seamstress in chicago? in case I decide to have my dress altered elsewhere?

I am going to be the maid of honor for my BF's wedding next year! Right now I am helping her look up venues via Google, but does anyone have suggestions for a nice church in the Naperville/Schaumburg/Niles area? I don't think it matters if it's Catholic or Protestant, but it must allow non-members to be wed there, and a have a clean, modern look. Thanks for the input!

I tried contacting my favorite priest from my childhood church, but he said he can't do anything outdoors or even go outside his church . So now I'm desparate! I've heard that "retired" priests will do it, but is it technically recognized by the church?

transportation vendors (Large Groups)

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to see if anyone has contacted transportation vendors to get quotes for transportation for the entire wedding reception to their hotels. We are expecting about 150 people and anticipate that 120 will stay until our reception ends at 1130pm. From that point we want to offer transportation back to their hotels or to a bar of our choice to continue the party.

Does anyone have recommendations? We are getting married in December and we just don’t want people waiting for cabs out in the cold. We also are trying to get a good deal (if that’s even possible) so any help would be extremely appreciated.

Average Wait For Photo Digital Negatives??

I found my dream photographer, but I have to wait a year to get the printing rights to all of my wedding photos. I do get a $250 print credit to print pics right away and I could get the rights to the pics in 8-10 weeks, but it costs an extra $500. Does this seem strange to have to wait a year? I understand this is the way photographers make money (people buying prints), but I want to make my own wedding album to save money. Thoughts?! Thanks!
