Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive day of coordinator? I'm being quoted 1500-1800 by some vendors and that seems high to me. I really just need someone to be there on that day to confirm everything is running smoothly and help with getting some of the gifts stored away, etc. I didnt want ot pay more than $500. Is that reasonable?

Also, do print shops generally have their own paper selections or is this something I need to find elsewhere?

Seeking a piano or guitar player for the ceremony

I'm getting married June 18, and had been talking to a family friend who plays guitar about doing music for the ceremony. I had mentioned my desire to have some classical music played (such as Canon in D and some hymns), and he said he cannot play that music, so now I'm search for a new musician.

Can anyone give any recommendations?

Wedding at The Morton Arboretum?

I am looking into having my wedding at the Mortom Arboretum in Lisle. I am getting married in late May and love that I could have a beautiful natural setting for an outdoor ceremony and pictures.

Has anyone had a wedding there around May or is anyone planning a wedding there now? I just want to know if it's a good place to have an "all-in-one" wedding day and how easy they are to deal with and if the price is good for the service.

P.S. Also if anyone has a good idea on where to have a wedding with great natural setting for a decent price for 75-80 people please let me know!

I LOVED her dress, her whole look was absolutely amazing. Her bouqet was a little small in my opinion but she looked fantastic!
Pippa's dress was really nice too...not too many people could pull that off!

Hi,

So I am getting married in a month and I wanted to surprise my hubby-to-be with our honeymoon. Because we had to pay for the wedding ourselves, our finances have been very tight, so we decided to forgo the honeymoon. Well I have been working overtime because of some work project and I have saved a nice amount of $$ for the honeymoon. On the day of the wedding, I will have the best man give him the card with our flight and travel itinerary in it :) along with the other gift I have for him.

My Dilemma: I am stuck on where to go, Cancun or Puerto Rico??? Or I will take any other destination suggestions!!! We like the All-Inclusive travel as we then don't have to worry about traveling with much cash. We get married on June 11th, so I am looking for us to leave that next day for about 8-10 days. Any suggestions or ideas would be FANTASTIC!

alternatives to dull chairs?

(forgive the double post! I put this in the reception forum, and then realized it made more senste to put here since we're getting married in chicago!)

Our venue's chairs are basic black banquet chairs that look a little wornout...and remind me of something I might sit in at a conference at a budget hotel. I don't love them, but I think regular chaircovers look a bit silly, and I'm worried they'd distract from our flowers.

Chivari chairs would be great, but we can't stomach the cost. I'm curious if anybody knows a place that rents them for very, very cheap, or if anybody has found a way (or a good company) to cover these types of chairs in a subtle way.

Alternatively, I was thinking about asking our venue if we could use their garden chairs, but I think they might look weird in a carpeted room with a chandelier. We're getting married at a country club.

Slow day for me so I finally had time to take pictures of my DIY/semi DIY projects! I gor rid of all the last names except for FI because seriously...Fox there's a million of them :)

This is what we did for our invite (basis came from Wilton Print, we did the designing and placement of all the text and the assembling).

And the completed look when it's closed:

Here is our ceremony program. I'm still working on what to write for our "thank you" which will go on the back of the programs. It's a half piece of carstock paper.

And a close up of the rectangle at the top...seriously time consuming!

Lastly, our place cards. We have different food options so we are using colored ribbons to distinguish the difference (red - filet, black - chicken, white - vegetarian).

Now...time to relax!

We are having a table for the bridal party and for us at the reception hall. Which side does the Bride sit on….is it to the left or right of the groom? Who usually sits on the other side of me? Who usually sits on the other side of the groom? My mom thought it is usually do boy girl boy girl…….
