Does anyone have suggestions on a good/cheap DJ for Evansville? I've seen them for various prices, but wasn't sure about their quality. I would like to stay closer to the $500 mark, but I also don't want a horrible DJ!

Also, we're getting married 11/5/11. How early do Evansville DJ's book up?

Hey everyone! I am planning a wedding for march and was looking up the legalities for obtaining the marriage license and came across the law that women under 50 must have a completed State of Indiana Premarital Examinate Certificate. Does anyone know what the premarital exam consists of? I read somewhere that it meant that they tested to see if you were vaccinated against rubella, is that true and how do they test for that?

I already have a photographer for my wedding. I would like someone who can take pictures and immediately print them out for a guest book. This would have to be someone who has a printer that can handle large volume printing. I've seen photo booths where they can do this. I can't seem to find someone who can do it with a camera. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Wedding tips

We just got married a week ago and thought I would share some tips that I learned along the way with the help of others.
1. For the kids in your ceremony: Buy disposable cameras for them and let them take pictures while standing up with you. They feel really special when you tell them that they are for them and they can take any pictures that they want as long as they don't run around and move too much. I am really curious to find out if any of the pictures will be usable.
2. For the kids at your wedding: You can go online and make your own coloring books for all the kids there and attach the book with a ribbon of one of your colors. I didn't do make the coloring book since I ran out of time but I saw them made for a wedding sometime ago.
3. Think about saving your bouquet before the big day. There are ways to do it and spend a few hundred or you can take them apart and dry them and then put them back together. I gave this task to my Mom and if it works, I plan on buying a display case and having a nice decoration and preserving my beautiful bouquet. I honestly didn't think I would like it as much as I did but I just didn't want to let it go.
4. Take time to look out and see all the friends and family as you stand at the altar. It is great to see your close friends and family smiling at you and it is one of the things I will remember.
5. Do what you can before the wedding but don't worry about what you couldn't get around to. I had bought chocolate to put into heart shaped molds but spent too much time looking for borrowed pictures that I was frantic to find (and still have yet to find them)
6. If you are going to thank people for coming while using a microphone, jot out what you want to say. I had words thought up in my head but forgot to thank those who traveled from other states and forgot to thank the bridal party and a few other things I wanted to share.

Most of all, enjoy the day.

I really need help! I am getting married in Southeastern Indiana (Decatur/Ripley county area) on Oct 1. I do not want a church wedding, and I cannot figure out another location to have the ceremony. I'm not opposed to an outside site, but there needs to be enough parking (for 150 people). If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

I am exploring different venues and I've found one that I'd like to check out further, but it's 4 hours away. We are on a tight budget, so we wouldn't be able to put our families and friends in hotels, and with gas prices like they are, I don't want to be rude by planning a wedding so far away. Any thoughts?

I am from NWI. I heard of A Plus Catering in Griffith, and right now, they're offering a booking incentive of free wait staff, linens, china, and grauity. It's only $13.50 per person (or you can get a smaller amount of food for $10.50 a person). The price is normally $24.50 a person, so it's a HUGE deal.

It includes family style or buffet style.

It sounds like an amazing deal, but I can't find any online reviews. I was wondering if anyone has heard of them?

They're offering a free tasting too. I'm just hesistant, because since I haven't found any reviews, I don't want them to go out of business by my wedding next summer, because I will be out of the $500 down payment....

Has anyone heard of them or used them? If so, are they any good? Good business and service?

We need desperate help finding a wedding reception location that is less than $1200, allows outside catering and is somewhere in between those two locations! Evansville Rehearsal Dinner ideas

So I grew up in Evansville my entire life, but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for our rehearsal dinner. I've been gone for a few years and am coming up with nothing.

Our rehearsal will most likely be on the west side if we can get into the location the night before, but we're open to anywhere. We would like to stay on the West or North side, but can go to the East side if we must.

We'll have around 40-60 people. Do you guys have any ideas for me?

I have a new white Mori Lee 4524 with tags, size 2 for sale! This dress has never been worn or altered. I had a change of heart over the weekend and bought another dress that better fit my figure. Just wanted to see what the NWI Area is... I'm having my wedding and reception at a place in LaPorte, Indiana that adds a "18% gratuity" to everything... the food, the drink, the chair set up fee, the chair covers fee, the trelis rental fee--- everything. Do I have to tip additionally above that? What's the norm?

'Shuttle Service' for After Reception

We have a large number of OOT guests (~80% OOT). Due to this, we are wanting to have a shuttle service from the reception so that if they have had too much to drink, they can safely return to the hotels without getting lost. We are thinking we would only offer the service for the last 2 hours of the reception.

We are getting married in the Ft. Wayne area. Would anyone have any recommendations?
