I'm considering using a photographer in KC, maybe it's KC MO, not sure... Anyway it's Photos Edge, and of course photosedge.com. I'm wondering if any brides have any experiences with this photographer they would like to share. Their website says they're a 2010 Knot Pick, buuut I don't know if I like their gallery as much as another photographer I'm looking at. Any suggestions?

Hi ladies...

I have a question about reception sites in Overland Park, or somewhere around there. We are having a destination wedding in Mexico or Jamaica (haven't decided which yet) and a reception when we return. Does anyone know of a reception site that is reasonably priced for a low key reception? I think we are going to do a Luau or beachy theme for the reception. Being able to bring in our own catering and alcohol is a plus!

So my fiance and I are going to do our engagement pics in Lawrence and we are trying to think of different places to take them. Campus is a must, but we don't want our pics to be too cheesy with Lawrence locations (no Fieldhouse pics!!), so we are thinking around Potter Lake. However, I wanted a couple pics that are more modern (i.e. not in a random park) because our actually reception location is really urban. Any suggestions??

As I'm looking at other dresses I'm having a case of buyers remorse pluse I've gained weight. I bought a Galina Signature dress from Davids Bridal, Its a size 4 in white. I'm considering selling it for $700, far less than what I paid but still enough back that I could find a new gown. Its style number SWG339, if your interested let me know!

My alterations girl wants 125 for hem, bustle, and corset back, just fyi very inexpensive!!

Good Morning!
I'm Shannan and my FI David is in the United States Air Force. He is finishing up Pilot Training and has learned he will be heading to McConnell AFB in Wichita. We are getting married in Minnesota - May, 2011 but I will be moving there after the wedding.

Full Disclosure- I know nothing about Kansas. He is currently in Enid, Oklahoma so not too far away.
But I was wondering what you ladies could tell me about Wichita. What I can expect, how expensive/inexpensive cost of living is in the area, job market, etc. I currently work for a Police Department and I am a licensed Police Officer in the state of Minnesota, for what I hear Wichita is big on engineering and medical.

Anywho, I wanted to introduce myself, and let you know I am really excited about the move! But nervous about starting over!

Okay ladies, I am a formet knot girl who got married a year and a half ago....I got so much help by reading and discussing on these boards....now my best friend is getting married and only has 6 months to plan! She's looking for a local place in KC that can hold up to 300 people...her budget is about $1500...if you guys have ANY ideas at all, let us know!

Also, she mentioned looking at the Pavillion in Shawnee, KS....looks like a nice place on the inside but the outside doesn't really match....if you've heard of this place, what do you think? If you havent...do you think it would matter that the outside looks kinda old?

Has anyone heard about this? I've decided on my dress. Unfortunately it's by a designer that Bridal does not carry, though many of their designers have similar styles. I'm curious as to how busy it is? Do you have to show up at 7 AM or earlier? Are the dresses new or samples? Should I expect the true NY style Rush for the Gown, or is it a little more subdued?

I am a bride on a budget and if i can save 800-1000 on my dress it would be worth it!

My fiance and I just took our engagement pictures on Sunday and the photographer already gave us about 50 photos as a preview!
We worked with Jim Powers (jimbobp.com) and had an amazing time at our E-session. He brought the 2nd photographer from our wedding and another photographer who was learning from him-- and we get all of those pictures!! They spent over 3 hours with us and showed us the pictures as we were going. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with our choice, especially because the all inclusive wedding package WITH a 2nd photographer is only $1000!!

We are planning a wedding in the first part of March and looking for a small venue where we could possibly get married. This is both our second marriages and we'd love to find one place where we could "elope" and get it done without a big production. It will be the two of us, and my children, who will be 14 and 8. We are looking for ideas somewhere in the middle of the courthouse and a fancy wedding. Any ideas out there? We'd love to find a loft-type place where we could have someone come marry us and maybe have a private dinner. Or a B&B that does the ceremony too. We're open for options.

I just thought that I would let you all know that I am using a wedding planner for my wedding day and up to that day. I wasn't going to but I had heard alot of people talking about their wedding and how they had a wedding planner and how they were able to enjoy their day instead of stressing all day about everything. So I am going with Platinum Designs Event Planning. I met with 9 weddding planners and decided to go with them. they were youg and very nice and outgoing. What made them stand out the most was they wanted to make sure that whatever I wanted they would do there best to make happen. The others just sounded more like they wanted to steeer me in other directions. For instance I told this one that I dont want a church wedding because my FI was not religious but they still were trying to get me to go to the church. I just felt more comfortable with these girls.

when you’re getting your mani-pedi just hours before the wedding, who do you think will be at the reception site, making sure everything is perfect? Ummm, not your Mom, she is the one sitting in the pedicure throne to your right, or at least she should be, and shame on you if she is not!

As you’re stepping into your gown, who do you think is calling around to find extra chargers because the rental company delivered a whole crate of broken china? Not your Maid of Honor, she is in the handicap stall of the lady’s bathroom, changing her 18 month old and cleaning the blood off the tuxedo shirt of her son, your ring bearer; because he wouldn’t stop picking his nose

While your being fussed over with the last minute touches before you walk down the aisle, the limo driver who was picking up the groom and his wedding posse got lost and is now an hour late. Who do you think is on the phone directing them to the ceremony site? HELLO, not your Dad, he is waiting patiently outside the bridal suite door, taking sips of liquid courage from the flask you bought him for Father’s Day a couple of years back.

You hired a photographer to capture some of your most precious memories, you chose a caterer to nourish and feed your friends and family, you picked a DJ to entertain your guest; why wouldn’t you hire a Wedding Coordinator? Someone you could turn to for wisdom and guidance, someone who wouldn’t take it personal when we were having a bad day.

First of all congrats to you all. I am a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding and am desperately trying to help her out. I live in Florida so it's hard to do this from so far away.

She lives in the Wichita area, is getting married Oct 1, 2011, and needs a venue which will accomodate 700-1000 guests? For now money isnt an issue. Any ideas of locations in the area that can hold that many people?? Any help is greatly appreciated :)

I'm trying to plan my June 2011 wedding anywhere in the Topeka, Lawrence, or KCK (fairly last minute I might add) and I've got a few HUGE problems. 1)I'm currently in California so I'm not able to actually check out any venues or explore other possiblilites. 2)I'VE NEVER BEEN TO KANSAS!!!! So you see how this makes things very difficult to say the least. I'm looking for any kind of venue that is all inclusive and can hold about 200-250 guests. My budget is about 6,000-7,000.
