Any ideas for a bachelorette party in louisville? I don't want to do the normal bar hopping scene. My fiance is going zip lining and go carting... I would like to do something fun and unique during the day and maybe just end it at a local bar right down the street. Any ideas? Greatly appreciate it!

Louisville, KY Catering Recommendations?

My fiance is from WV and I am from IL so we are having our wedding in Louisville, KY because it is somewhat centralized for our families. Not being from Louisville, we are unfamiliar with the local vendors. Do you have any catering recommendations? We would prefer a caterer that provides linens, plates, silverware, glasses, etc. We are also on a pretty strict budget. Merrill at Whitehall (where our wedding will be) recommended Masterson's . . .

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated!!

Rehearsal Dinner

Stuck on picking a rehearsal dinner spot...

We're going to have about 20 people. Our budget is about $40 per plate. My fiance would prefer a steak place, but the ones that come to mind (Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc) are out of our budget by about $10-20 a plate. We'll be downtown, but we're not opposed to a drive.

We want nice, but definitely a place that's a little more traditional- it drives my fiance crazy when you try to read the menu and have no idea what half the stuff is.

Suggestions?

Question about Live Ceremony Music

I was in Louisville this weekend doing a little wedding planning and I attend the St. James Art Festival. While there, I heard two young girls playing a violin and cello and thought they sounded great and would be perfect to have at our wedding. I spoke with their mom and got her contact info. We're trying to detemine a reasonable price since they are kids and have only played in one wedding before which was for a relative so I'm guessing they didn't charge.

I wasn't planning to hire a string band because we didn't really want the extra expense, but I think having them play would be really neat and would solve some other issues. They would play music as guests arrive, as I and the bridesmaids walk down the aisle and once the ceremony is over. Does anyone have suggestions as to what would be a reasonable price to pay? Thanks!

Hey Ladies,
There is a groupon out right now for a photo-booth. It's $399 for 3 hour photo-booth rental or $429 for a 4 hour photo-booth rental. I didn't have a photo-booth at my wedding so I have NO idea if those are good prices or not, but I just thought I'd pass on the information. Groupon and Living Social also often have good deals for things you can use related to your wedding (ex: Vistaprint, photo books, canvases, etc) so it's always good to look and see if they have any good deals!

Mellwood Arts Center Review

I absolutely love Mellwood. We had the small event room and it was perfect. HOWEVER, the wedding next door was extremely loud. They had loud rap music playing the entire length of my ceremony/reception and when people would walk out the doors, they would leave them wide open & you could hear their music in our room.

I just want people to be aware of this, because it was the only complaint I have.

Me and my other part will get married at June,2013.

We are budget wedding.

I am not from US, so we will get a one in my country which is 600 people. and which I heard from him that the bride's family need take care everything... it's different with my country at all. even I thought we both should put some hands on for help.

But finally, my parents will totally take care the wedding in my country.

But we do need have another one in Louisville, we will have ceremony in church. it's pretty good, but when we talk about the receptions I really got no idea... it's looks like my part family still need take care of that partly. which my parents got not happy.

I don't know, I even thought that maybe we no need reception, but the friend and some family members didn't see me before. and some of my family and friends want come to US to join the US wedding.

It will be total 150 guesti in Louisville, but since I even don't know groom's family may only support 2000. I do need some help about finding a reception.

Can sb help me to tell me that do I have some choice, or it's a tradition that my family need take care of all those expenses?

Can't decide on a florist

I've met with four different florists, and I'm not in love with any of them. I think a large part of it is that I don't really know exactly what I want, so I feel like I need a little more guidance, which i don't really feel like I've gotten. Although I also wonder if my budget id the issue.

I was wanting to spend no more than $1000 on flowers (I have only one bridesmaid and two groomsmen, but need about 20 centerpieces). Three places have given me quotes around there, but weren't very good at helping me decide what i want. One person (Jill at J Elizabeth) was great at having opinions and really asking questions about my wedding to understand the feel and what would work for us, but the quote was about $1500.

Any suggestions? Should I just swallow it and go with the more expensive one? Do I need to do more research on my own to decide what I want? Is it unreasonable to expect a florist to help me figure out what I want and what works for our budget- and to be honest about what might not be a good idea?

Chair Covers

I purchased 190 new ivory folding chair covers. Since then I decided to go in a different direction and will not be using these. They're new still in the boxes. Each cover is in its individual bag. I opened one to see what they looked like, but it is in the original bag.

Each Measures (approximately):

-Height (from top to bottom): 34"

-Back of chair: 21" width x 18" height

-Seat of chair: 19" width x 16" length

-Leg of chair: 18" height from ground

Polyester Material and they are designed for folding chairs.

Each slip cover is 1.99 if sold individually. For all of the covers the base price will be $325. I would like to sale them together!!

I'm considering the Nunnlea house in J-town for my wedding/reception. Right now the guest list is about 150. It can be condensed if necessary but I was wondering if anyone had their wedding there or been to one there. I haven't toured it yet but the floor plan on the website leaves me to question if there will be a room inside for a dance floor with a large number of guests. Any help/advice you could provide is much appreciated.

Knotties! I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding last weekend and I MUST tell you about this thing that she did ... She hired this company called Flip A Hit (never heard of them until now) and they sent her flip cameras for her wedding ... It was CRAZY. Even the DJ's( Night Owl DJ) got into it and took a camera and grabbed footage. Now she sent the cameras back and they are editing it into a video for her.
