We paid for 150 guests but our venue can hold up to 300. Our guest list right now is exactly 150 people deep. We haven't sent out our invitations yet. FI and I decided that in order to stay within our 150 guest limit we would not invite coworkers. I was so relieved when we finalized our guest list, but now I'm regretting not inviting my coworkers. I've worked with these ladies for the past 5 years and I talk to several of them outside of work. I feel even worse because I've talked with them about my wedding on several occasions. I never told them they would be invited, but they know that the wedding's coming up and they ask me about it often. What to do? If I invite them it will be about 14 extra people and my venue charges 30 per person over our guest limit. I don't want to hurt their feelings by not inviting them, but I don't want to pay an extra 500.

Services are only required for the bride and 1 bridesmaid, and $50 to $100 to travel for only 2 people is out of the question for her. We also thought about doing a piece of artwork, maybe a big Nola drawing that you see in the little shops in the French Quarter that people could sign around. Would the groom be able to fling it? Just curious if anyone's purchased one! Thanks ladies!

My husband and I are renewing our vows on December 14th of this year. We had a quickie last-minute wedding on Christmas day of 2011, so this is going to be our "Wedding", with the dress and flowers and everything. My problem is venues. Our budget is $5,000 and not a penny more. We're paying for it ourselves, so we absolutely can't spend any more. I've already looked into Clarion Inn, Abita Quail Farm, Dakota's, and a few other places. It's just so expensive. Am I missing out on some lesser known places? Some diamonds in the rough? I'm only having about 50 people there, so I don't need a huge place, but I don't want small and cramped, either. Thanks, ladies!

I live on the MS Gulf Coast, my family is from southcentral MS, and all of my fiance's family and friends are in TX and GA. When my mom and I finally put together our guest lists, we have about 200 people if everyone brings a guest. Can anyone offer me reassurance that half of the guests... or at least 50 people... won't come?? I sent save-the-dates to almost everyone, but we decided to do A-list, B-list formal invites (send out a first batch of invites, see who RSVP's, then send out a seond batch depending on that #). What do y'all think?

I want all of the bridesmaids to wear the same dress and we found a gorgeous dress that is age appropriate for my adult and teenage bridesmaids. The 12 year old is easily my tallest bridesmaid and will have no issue fitting in an adult dress, but the 13 year old is tiny, short and super skinny. Everyone says she should just get the smallest size and they'll be able to alter it, but I'm just super nervous about it. Has anyone been in this situation? Anyone had to have an adult dress altered for a junior bridesmaid? Were they able to do it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ladies...I had a card from my favorite invitation place. Originally, I was thinking of going with anythingbridal.com (still REALLY recommend these guys...they give a great discount, are very friendly, lots of personal interaction, etc.) BUT I happened upon this other place that makes gorgeous custom invitations. They do amazing work, I got their info, saved it on my computer and now it is gone!! I'm hoping to find them again. I've googled every and any thing that I can remember about the company, but I can't find them. Please help! Who are you ladies using for your invitations? It isn't Gem's or Szabbo's...it isn't Scriptura or David's Bridal either. It is a really local company and I cannot (for the life of me) remember who they are. Please help! Thanks a bunch, ladies. I'm bummed.

Hello everyone! I was just engaged a week ago, but we are already on the ball trying to get a venue/date set. We are on a tight budget, so the two places I am considering so far is Taravella Manor and Cedar Grove Tchopitoulas Plantation. They both are similar in the fact that they have an outside ceremony area and inside reception area, however Taravella is much cheaper.

Has anyone been to a wedding at Taravella Manor and can tell me about their experience? Any other affordable wedding venues that I should consider?

Thanks for yalls help! :)
